We just got an air fryer so I was excited to read this book. This is great for anyone, new to the air fryer or not. It has tons of wonderful looking recipes that I can't wait to try. I loved the varying sizes each recipie offered. My only complaint was that I wish there were more pictures.

Over 300 recipes for things you can make in an air fryer. The book Recipe chapters are Snacks/Nibbles/Appetizers, Soups and Sandwiches, Chicken/Turkey/Duck, Beef/Pork/Lamb/Veal, Fish and Shellfish, Vegetables/Side Dishes, and Desserts and Sweets. There's a great section of general air frying tips and a chart for crumb equivalency. Each recipe has a chart showing the quantity needed of each ingredient based on the size of air fryer you have. Recipes also have a "then" section, suggesting ways to serve it, transform it, or a sauce or something to accompany it.
My only wish is that there were more photos.
I received an ebook ARC in exchange for an honest review.

We recently bought an air fryer because of how versatile the tool was. When I saw this book, I knew I needed to check it out! There are so many recipes and dishes that just make your mouth water. The air dryer is such a great addition to one's kitchen and this book shows all the possible things you can create with it!

Some really nice and easy recipes! I have only tried a few recipes but I will use this book a lot from now.

I have the other two books in the series, with recipes for Instant Pot and I love both, so of course I wante to check out the new air fryer book.
It has the same general design. For each of the recipes, there is a table with times/ amounts depending on the size of the machine you have, and step by step instructions. Usually, I love recipe books that have pictures of every dish, and this one is not it, as there is not pictures, but somehow I do not miss the pictures here. Great improvement would be if they also listed the weight of the ingredients - they only show volume measures in the book.
Anyway, I tried a few of new to me recipes, and they all worked really good. The ingredients are what you find in most pantries and grocery stores. The steps are mostly quick and easy, too. Lots of recipes where you coat your food with breadcrumbs and such so it does not dry out, but also quite a lot of stuff without coating.
I am going to buy the book when it comes out
I received a free digital copy of the book from NetGalley

Eh. This is the second air fryer cookbook in a week that has convinced me not to buy an air fryer. I was expecting to love this book, as it has so many recipes. I figured with 300 recipes, everything you could think of would be included. Then the first recipe I looked for was for donuts and there wasn't one (donuts were featured in another air fryer cookbook I read and reviewed earlier this week and struck me as one of the only good reasons I could think of that maybe I did want an air fryer). Then I saw they had gluten free options for breading and thought I would like this book, but I noticed they just call for tapioca flour instead of wheat flour and that is a horrible alternative. Plain tapioca flour/starch is the gummiest gluten free flour of all of them. Breading with it results in creepy, bizarrely slimy breading that immediately falls off and tastes like crispy yet gelatinous wallpaper adhesive.

Also, there are so many junky recipes. Aren't air fryers supposed to be for folks who want to eat healthier? There are recipes for air fried Twinkies, cookies, brownies, ham and eggs (this needs to be fried?), Snickers bars, macaroni and cheese balls, Oreos.... Fried Spam? Who exactly is this target audience? Is it just for people who want to cook something dreadfully trashy in an all new way?

There are plenty of healthy things in here, but then they're cooked badly or with no seasoning at all. The air fried tofu cubes recipe calls for tofu and spray oil. Ew. Tofu is like a slimy sponge. It needs to be marinaded with a wonderful flavor and then it will taste like that flavor, and then cooked properly (freezing ahead of time also greatly improves the texture). My kids love it marinaded and then breaded and fried, among other ways. But plain with no seasoning at all? It's horrid. Or the fried eggplant slices. First off, you should salt and sweat eggplant to get rid of its overly moist texture for best results in recipes, which this doesn't do. Then it calls for breading it in crushed Saltines and corn starch, with no spices or seasonings at all. So you're breading it in really unhealthy, fattening stuff, AND giving it no flavor? Yum. Also note that you have to cook them one at a time (two if they're tiny slices) for 12 minutes each, so you're also going to be spending an hour air frying your little eggplant slice by slice, when you could just bake the slices for wonderfully crispy eggplant slices much easier all at once (I recommend almond meal, garlic, S&P and herbs for breading, with some Parmesan in the mix if you do dairy).

There are about 20 color photos, but they're added to the very back of the book like an afterthought (maybe this is a pre-publication thing and they'll be inserted later?). There is no nutritional information, which of course there wouldn't be because most of these recipes are outrageously fattening and unhealthy.

If you're looking for fun, trashy recipes to use in your air fryer, this will definitely make you super happy. There are literally hundreds of them, even though a lot of them are basically to take things like cut up pita bread of frozen carrot slices, spray them with oil, and air fry them in single layers. There are also lots of ways to air fry meats of various kinds, but I cook vegetarian so I didn't look closely at those. Readers who tend towards healthy, gluten free, vegetarian and/or homemade foods may be disappointed.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

I have only used my air fryer a couple of times but upon reading this cookbook, it has given me the enthusiasm to get my air fryer out of the cupboard and start cooking some of these wonderful recipes. Clear instructions, which are easy to follow. Recommended.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy. This is my honest review, which i have voluntarily given.

I’ve actually had to come back to this review a few times now. Recipe books are really hard to review as you can’t make every recipe and it doesn’t read like a book.

What I liked:
The recipes were easy to follow
There were variations for different sized fryers
The pictures included were bright and good quality
The additional information such as drink pairings or alterations at the end of each recipe were great

What I didn’t like:
The first few time’s I wrote this out I kept going back to it being very wordy. I think for me this is in fact due to the font and the images being at the back. However I’ve gone back to it a few times now and it’s necessarily wordy. It’s informative and well written with great instruction on how to properly use an air fryer.

Great recipe book.

I own the The Great Big Pressure Cooker Book: 500 Easy Recipes for Every Machine, Both Stovetop and Electric cookbook by Bruce Weinstein and it's my go to cookbook. So i was super excited to see the Air Fryer cookbook and couldn't wait to read it. What can i say, if you get it you pretty much don't need any other cookbooks. Not only does it have a ton of recipes, they're all tested by the author so you know they're true and proven. There are a lot, and i mean a lot of details about coatings, oils needed, all the minute details that i, having used the air fryer for a couple of years, had no idea about. The recipes are easy and on point. They list ingredients, and the size of the air fryer- so you don't need to figure out how to adjust the proportions if you have a small or a giant one. Get this book, you will be glad you did!

Thank you Netgalley and Little, Brown for sharing this ARC with me. I haven’t made anything from it yet, but I’ve bookmarked so many things that look good. Since I own previous Instant Pot cookbooks by this author I know these recipes will be great. Recommend for anyone with an air fryer, especially if you’re still figuring it out.

A great book for people that are new to the air fryer world and want new recipes to try out or for those that aren't sure how long to cook certain types of foods. Perfect addition for any kitchen!
