I typically do not read a lot of books of stories, but there was something about this book that just got my attention. I was amazed at what I found. John Isaac Jones is an amazing writer and I would absolutely love to read more of his writing. His stories are all southern based, but each one was so different as well. There was so much emotion and familiarity in these stories that just drew me immediately into each one. I will be definitely recommending this book to others. Thanks for the ARC, Net Galley.

I received a free electronic copy of this collection of self-published short stories on August 30, 2019, from Netgalley, John Isaac Jones, and IBPA. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me. I have read this collection of my own volition and this review reflects my honest opinion of this work. I am pleased to recommend this work to friends and family.

These are excellent snippets of southern charm and/or perversity. The longer stories are to the back of the book and carry more meat, but all of these tales are poignant or hilarious and some really touch your heart. Most stem from the south in the latter half of the twentieth century, all paint a neat picture of the things that make the south a special, unique homeland. I will add John Isaac Jones to my list of must-read southern authors.
