I loved this book! Thank you for the ARC. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that I wasn’t leaving reviews on netgalley and was solely sharing on Instagram. My apologies. Huge fan of this author! I actually received the tangible copy. Trying to clean up my netgally account.

This is a very quick read. I'm not one for thriller's/suspense, but I was hooked by the emotional read quite early on. There is some complexities and enough intrigue to keep me going. This just isn't my genre of choice but I think it was well written for what it was.

How far would you go for someone else? Would you do whatever was necessary? Would you give your life for theirs?
After a hard day, Morgan is waiting for the subway and barely notices the woman with the baby beside her. Until the woman spoke to her. This stranger, someone she’s never seen hands her the baby and says “keep her safe” and calls her by name. Before Morgan can process that, the woman disappears into the path of the subway as Morgan numb with shock, is still holding on to the baby.
From that day on, Morgan’s life took a different direction. Shamed by her her husband’s embezzlement and suicide, Morgan tries to keep a low profile as it’s a common thought that she was involved. But overnight, her life becomes public. When Nicole’s will was read leaving Morgan with custody of baby Quinn and shares in the multi million dollar company she had, no one believes Morgan didn’t know Nicole. No one believes she didn’t have a hand in Nicole’s death. Except for her friend Tessa, who always has her back. Before long, she has no one but Tessa who believes her. The question is, who leaves their baby and fortune to a perfect stranger? Not believing Morgan, nor her version of all the scary suspicious things that keep happening, the police have their own theory. Morgan is sure her life is in danger. But no one else does. Convinced she and Quinn were both in danger, Morgan tries to make sense of it all.
This book is my favourite genre; the psychological thriller I can’t get enough of them and a new author and voice is delightful and welcome. While this book is full of suspense and surprise, I also found it to be very emotional. Morgan, who has always longed for a child has faced that children are just not in her future. And then she has one thrust upon her. My heart ached for Nicole, whose innocence and spirit were shattered by a tragedy when she was 17. Convinced that someone is out to get her and her baby, she slowly unravels until that fateful day on the subway platform.
This was a quick read and my thoughts jumped from one scenario to another, trying to figure out the reason someone would give their baby to a stranger. I felt so sad for Nicole, as slowly her paranoia took over her life. But she would do anything to keep her baby safe, even if it meant the end of her life. Worried about her inadequacies as a mother, she makes the ultimate sacrifice. But why?
As this is Samantha Bailey’s first novel, I will look forward to reading more of her books. The plot for this book was original; the story fast paced, and it was engrossing to read. I hated having to put it down.
Thank you to Net galley, the publisher and the author for the privilege of reading and reviewing this book in return for an honest review.

An absolute thrill ride!! I love a mystery that requires the reader to connect all the dots as we go and Woman On The Edge had me guessing at every twist and turn.
Emotions were high here and my heart ached for Nicole and what she was experiencing as a first time Mom. The characters were all fantastic, even the ones we were made to hate.
I can’t wait to see what Bailey puts out next!

This book was so good. I received an advance copy of this book from Simon Schuster and then got to meet the author at a luncheon. I'd almost read this book again and have since traded it to a few people as my top 'Must Read' recommendation. I loved the story, the twists, the characters, the suspense. I could not put it down. Can't wait to see what's next from Samantha M. Bailey!

Thank you to Simon and Schuster Canada and Samantha Bailey for my free review copy. I was so excited to receive this book as I couldn’t wait to read it!! Morgan’s life is turned upside down when a stranger hands her baby over to her on the subway platform and then jumps. Her last words were for Morgan to take care of the baby. After all the initial confusion starts to settle down Morgan realizes the woman spoke to her by name. Who is this woman and how did she pick Morgan? It turns out the woman was a successful businesswoman named Nicole. Due to Morgan’s murky past the police don’t believe her version of events. Unfortunately no one else overheard Nicole’s plea and some people believe Morgan pushed her. The story alternates between the two women. Morgan’s story is told in present day and Nicole’s moves from the past forward to the event on the platform. To clear her name Morgan tries to find out how Nicole knew her. This is a story of two strong women with very different circumstances. My heart ached for Nicole as she describes her last days. I loved that the story was told between the two main characters. This book kept me racing through to find out how it would end. This is a debut novel but you would never know it as the characters and story are so well developed and engaging. I can hardly wait for this author’s next book.

RATING: 2.5 STARS
2019; Simon & Schuster Canada

A woman thrust her baby in your arms and tells you she picked you to take care of her baby, and then she jumps. That is the exciting start to Woman on the Edge. The story continues with the alternating storylines of the woman who jumped (Nicole), and the woman, Morgan, who has Nicole's baby, Quinn. This was a fair mystery, but the "woman on the edge" storyline kind of became old over time. As I read the novel, I had major deja vu as it borrows from other books, including the ending.

***I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.***

Action-packed, intense, & thrilling!

WOMAN ON THE EDGE by SAMANTHA M. BAILEY is a gripping, captivating, and suspenseful thriller that weaves quite the palpable and emotional story. I was immediately hooked and was so gripped with what I was reading that I was frantically swiping those pages as fast as I possibly could to reach that very satisfying conclusion.

SAMANTHA M. BAILEY delivers a foreboding, complex, intriguing and propulsive read here with quite the compelling and realistic characters. I was emotionally connected to both of our main characters here and the storyline. Nicole’s anxiety really rang true and I totally felt for Morgan. And I definitely needed to know what the connection was between them. I was definitely rooting for a happy ending for both Morgan and Quinn.

The story is told from alternating timelines and perspectives which definitely kept me interested and fully immersed in this tale.

This story is not perfect by no means as there were some little things here and there that I thought could have been a little bit better portrayed but all in all I was thoroughly entertained, intrigued and engaged.

To sum it all up it was a brisk, interesting, entertaining, and enjoyable read with a very satisfying ending that definitely kept me on the edge-of-my-seat. I would recommend it!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Simon & Schuster Canada, and Samantha M. Bailey for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. It was an absolute pleasure!

3.5 ⭐️

This novel is told from two POV - Nicole ( before ) and Morgan ( after ). Generally speaking I enjoyed Morgan’s story better . It was fast faced and fun to follow her as she tries to figure out what was going on and who to trust , Nicole’s story was much slower and tbh much more predictable... I guessed who the “Bad guys” were before anything bad even happened 🤷‍♀️

This was a fast-paced, suspenseful thriller.

Each chapter ended with a cliffhanger. It was so hard to put down this book, because the big reveals and suspenseful moments at the end of each chapter made me want to keep reading to find out what would happen next. Each plot twist was equally creepy and mysterious.

I couldn’t guess the solution to why Nicole gave Morgan her baby, which made me like this book even more. The ending made sense, but it was still surprising. I liked that it kept me guessing until the end.

I really enjoyed this thriller!

Thank you Simon and Schuster Canada for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

this was definitely on the edge reading. It kept me up late and I was continually guessing what was going to happen next. Yes, there is a love story, but the creepiness was what I was looking for and it was there in spades. Loved every minute.

This book was reminiscent of “The Girl on the Train” in that you had to keep reading to see what happened. I think the book will sell well, but I did find the ending rather predictable and pretty much guessed why she jumped from the beginning. I did really enjoy the read, but was partially disappointed.

This book gets off to a running start and doesn't stop all the way through. Definitely recommend for fans of Gone Girl/Woman on a Train, but don't expect the exact same type of story.

All of the characters were flawed and had secrets, and struggled with their various demons. It was good to sometimes see a different perspective and it makes you second guess where you are headed in the story.

While it had moments of predictability, overall it was a very enjoyable, twisty read.

Who is this woman who hands her baby to a stranger before she jumps in front of a train?! Are they really strangers? This was a fast-paced, suspenseful page-turner. The characters were developed and I couldn't help but feel for them. I had this book sitting on the shelf for a few months and I'm really sorry I waited to read it. I spent every moment I could reading this, I could not get enough!

Morgan is a woman who has already been through a lot in her life, more than most people should have to go through. She's in the process of trying to rebuild what's left after her husband's suicide and the discovery of his fraud.

One night on her commute home from work, a woman she has never seen before approaches her. She looks frantic and frazzled and shoves her infant daughter towards Morgan saying, "take my baby." In a state of complete shock, Morgan just kind of takes her and in the blink of an eye the mother jumps in front of the incoming train. And so begins another absolute state of chaos in Morgan's life.

Told in alternating perspectives between Morgan's life after Nicole jumps and Nicole's life before she jumps, Woman on the Edge is a psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat up until the conclusion. It was so fast-paced, I couldn't put it down. This is one of those books when you need to know what happens next.

The fact that this is a debut thriller novel blows my mind. It was so carefully written and crafted with the experience of a veteran in the genre. I can't wait to see what Samantha M. Bailey will bring to us next, because if Woman on the Edge was just a hint of what she has to offer the genre, then oh my god give me her next book now.

Thank you Simon & Schuster Canada and Samantha M. Bailey.
I was invited to read this novel and was intrigued from the beginning.
How could you not be intrigued when you start with a mother handing over their 7 week old baby girl to a stranger and then stepping in front of a train and commit suicide.
Lots of twists and turns. Quick read. Well written story.

I picked up Woman on the Edge by Samantha M. Bailey and it was everything I needed right then in a book. Absolutely amazing read that I devoured and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for Bailey's future work.

I loved that it was told from multiple pov. First we meet Nicole on the subway platform distressed and trying to give her baby to a stranger when she jumps infront of the train. Nicole is on her way home from work minding her own business like everyday. Nicole is the stranger who ends up with baby Quinn. But why Nicole? Did Morgan jump or did she get pushed? The story of Morgan goes back in time to get a glimpse of her life ands what led her to the subway that day. Nicole's story stays in present day, where she is accused of pushing Morgan. Nicole makes it her mission to discover what happened to this "stranger" and to keep baby Quinn safe.

If there is one more book you are thinking of squeezing in for 2020 I highly recommend Woman on The Edge. It sucked me right in and I couldn't put it down, with some twists I didn't see coming!

Thank you @simonschusterca and @netgalley for a copy of Woman on the Edge by Samatha Bailey. This fast paced thriller is available November 26/19!

I’m going to preface this review with a few trigger warnings. Suicide, postpartum psychosis and anxiety as well as a few other baby related issues. Please feel free to DM for more information!

I can see how the Woman on the Edge has received so many good reviews. It is fast paced, starts right from the middle of the action and works out, but also has the viewpoint from the past so we see how everyone got to that point as well. That being said, this one did not work for me personally and I think it was the postpartum storyline again. I am still not able to read those in thrillers without remembering my own struggles and how those are still not 100% out of my life and that just does not allow me to connect or escape into the story. I just find myself skimming over them. And the other timeline was not enough to carry this book for me. I found Morgan to be unlikable and the storyline a bit jumpy.

But, like I said, there are many many great and amazing reviews for Woman on the Edge. So if postpartum storylines do not affect you in the same way, I highly recommend giving this one a chance. It was sadly just a miss for me,
