There is something about a marriage of convenience story that just draws me. The story of Sydney and Scott was so interesting to read and watch them fall in love.

Sydney is no stranger to hard work and putting her together with playboy Scott was certainly a surprising choice.

Sydney agrees to marry her bosses son for the opportunity of a lifetime. A 3 year commitment seemed too long in my opinion but it was still great to see the unlikely pair slowly fall in love.

As a huge fan of the marriage of convenience trope and P. Dangelico’s books, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. And I’m happy to say that “You Can Have Manhattan” didn’t disappoint. It was exactly the light and fun read I hoped for.
Highly recommend!

P. Dangelico can usually be counted on to offer an entertaining romance. Though I thought the story was enjoyable, for me, the characters seemed a bit weak. I don't mind unlikeable characters, but I do want some redemption in the ending. The ending came a little too quickly for my taste, as I didn't feel the hero had experienced character growth that entitled him to a happily ever after. I wanted the heroine to be stronger, to demand more form the hero. The story itself was entertaining, and I will read more form the author. You Can Have Manhattan just wasnt my favorite.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation to review.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I thought this was a cute and light read. The beginning funny leading up to a true love story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone in need of a sweet HEA romance.

You Can Have Manhattan truly took by breath away...Ms Dangelico demonstrated once again just how masterful of a storyteller she is. I was captivated from the onset of the story, yet as I read deeper and grew to care about the characters, I felt myself become emotionally invested in Scott and Sydney’s ETA...the bumpy road they took getting there made the story that much more enjoyable. I was only saddened for the story to end, and to leave these characters behind...I loved how the author ended the story though...in true Scott and Sydney fashion.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a marriage of convenience/arranged marriage book. They’re usually not my favorite or my first choice, but when you throw in some massive hate vibes on both the main characters sides, you’ve got me interested. Big time!

This book was so, so good! I devoured it in a sitting. The characters were rich and intense in their dislike for each other and were imperfectly perfect for the other one.

This author has been on my “One to Watch” list for a few months and with this book she just made me a bonafide fan girl. I’ll be stalking her waiting for the next release. I. Need. More.

A sweet and sexy marriage of convenience romance with a good dose of push and pull. Good writing, good character development... an enjoyable read.

This is a heartwarming sweet romance. This was for me such great from haters to lovers romance. Both Sydney and Scott are great characters easy to love. P.Dangelico has written such great story: from hater faze to slow burn, honeymoon phase (very hot and yummy) heartbroken phase and their own HEA. I loved it, laugh reading it enjoyed it and was so happy to give a chance to read this amazing book.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

„Who are you?
Your husband.”

You Can Have Manhattan got my attention because of a beautiful cover. I went into this book completely blind, discovered a new author and in a result fall in love. P. Dangelico wrote an amazing story about two imperfectly perfect adults, mixing enemies to lovers and arranged marriage tropes. The author in an inspiring and surprising way showed the beauty of life (beside hurtful past) and beauty of love (found with the most unexpected person and time) and beauty of redemption (because even the biggest playboy and spoiled person deserves a second chance).

Sydney and Scott's story is very fast and a great read. Every chapter is deliberately written and the reader can follow the heroes development and their fully blossoming feelings toward themselves. And the chemistry between Sydney and Scott was off charts!

The heroes were amazing, both successful, loyal and caring at their own way. I closed You Can Have Manhattan with a big, goofy smile on my face feeling content and happy.

An arc kindly received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

P. Dangelico writes another captivating story. I never wanted this delicious and sexy story to end. The characters are real, entertaining, likable and easy to relate to, but have issues they need to work through. Sydney and Scott who are forced to marry, even though they can’t stand each other. Their hate turns to love and it proves that sometimes, opposites do attract in this slow burn love story.

Scott, a reformed playboy, is now content living a quiet life running his ranch in Wyoming. While Sydney, is a driven, workaholic attorney living and loving New York. Scott and Sydney’s marriage is more of a business deal with little romance involved. They don’t like each other, don’t understand each other and are not happy they are being forced into marriage by Scott’s manipulative father. It is highly entertaining watching Scott and Sydney argue, banter and fight and slowly fall in love, without even realizing what is happening.

I enjoyed everything about this story. Scott and Sydney are vulnerable and at times, frustrating. They each have scars and secrets and are afraid to open their hearts. Loved this charming story.

I really liked the whole premise. Sidney, who is a topnotch attorney, is asked by her dying boss/mentor/father figure, to make him a promise. Marry his son so she can run the company.

Unfortunately, his son, Scott, is known as a player, women in and out the revolving door with no real goal in life but to live off his father's riches. Or is that the case really?

Sidney is quite surprised when she finds a whole new Scott she wasn't expecting. And I was surprised......turns out there's more to Scott than what you think.

I was a little pissed at Scott's reaction when he realized Sidney's role and knowledge of his father's illness. I mean, come on, chill out jerk!

Anyway, it was a good read and I really love the writing style of P. Dangelico!!

This book was very enjoyable for a number of reasons. I loved the characters, the writing was really good and the story line was good too.
The Author is an automatic read. You are never disappointed. The story is based around Frank a owner of a multi national company, Sydney a single lawyer who works for Frank and Scott Frank’s son who is also single.. Frank has cancer and asks Sydney to Marry his son so the directors of the company have no other choice than to put her as the Managing Director. Scott has no idea about his fathers illness and is opposed to the idea of marrying Sydney. So Frank blackmails Scott into marrying Sydney. The whole context of the book is really good and keeps you interested to the end. Overall it’s a great read.

Once in a lifetime opportunity leads both characters into finally finding the happiness they long denied themselves.

Let’s get one thing out of the way first. I really liked You Can Have Manhattan. A lot. I really enjoy P. Dangelico’s stories and this one was no different. The majority of the rest of this is going to sound like a negative review, but I want to make it absolutely clear that it’s really not.

First, a caveat. I read an ARC, which is presumably an uncorrected proof. However, a caveat to the caveat, I received it not that long before it was released, so there’s that. My absolute biggest, most gigantic complaint with this book was the dire need that it had for an editor. I truly hope that the finished copy has been thoroughly edited and revised, because underneath is a really great story.

The sheer number of errors nearly ruined the book for me. Every time I happened upon one, it was enough to jar me out of the story, and it happened frequently. I think that the author finished writing the book, and then nobody, including her, ever read through it. I think she originally must have written the book in 3rd person POV, then changed her mind and decided she wanted it in alternating 1st person POV, and then just skimmed the book changing pronouns because there were quite a few that were missed and it was…odd. It would switch from first to third person mid-sentence, mid paragraph. It was so distracting.

There were so many grammatical errors that were likely the product of just writing and typing quickly. Such as “T-shit”. That one made me laugh out loud. But then there were repeated spelling errors like “burry” instead of “bury”.

Finally, the most frustrating though, was the absolute disregard for how things work. Like things that people should just know! And presumably every reader would. For example, at one point in the book, a character walks the other to their gate at the airport and kisses them goodbye before they board their airplane. Anybody else see the problem with this? You haven’t been allowed to go passed security without a ticket, much less walk someone to their gate since 9/11!
Another example, the main characters sign divorce papers at one point in the story and just like that, the author declares them divorced. Last time I checked, that’s not how that works. Gotta go file them, pal. Gotta be signed off on by a judge.
Look, I know it’s fiction. I also know that it’s an indie book. But I’ve read her other books, I know she has put out better than this. And some of the writing, especially those last two things I mentioned, felt like lazy writing. It made me angry because this book could have easily been a fantastic read. Easily a 4 or 4.5 star. It even made me tear up a couple of times! That’s a pretty incredible feat considering everything I’ve just mentioned. I’m curious if the finished copy is more polished and I truly hope it is. I’m tempted to buy the paperback, because truly I enjoyed it a lot (and I exclusively only buy physical copies of books I love), but without knowing for sure, I don’t know. If you’re going to read a P. Dangelico book, I highly recommend that you start with Wrecking Ball and go from there, then work your way to this book. As I said, there’s a very enjoyable story here, but at the risk of you being turned off to her altogether, I’d rather you start elsewhere and work your way forward. Perhaps if you fall in love with her other books the way I did, you can muddle through errors in this one if they still exist.

I adored this book! I stayed up way too late reading it because I just could not put it down! So many secrets, so many misconceptions and a meddling father that pulls the strings. Great writing that drew me in and made have all the feels. Hot cowboy, sassy and strong heroine. This book weaves a tale of how the worst beginnings and first impressions aren't always the truth.

5 wonderful stars! I absolutely loved this book! From the first chapter, Sydney & Scott’s story drew me in. This great enemies-to-lovers story was full of laughs, redemption, & forgiveness. Loved it!

Four bull-y, ranch-y stars combined with Manhattan’s skyscraper-y, viewed with Bryant Park-y stars!

First tango with this author but I’m glad to take out my dance shoes from the closet. Because I had so much fun! This book’s plot is a little similar to Claire Contreras’ Consequence of Falling. Especially the same reason created the hatred and edgy and angsty tension between the couple at the last parts of the book. I don’t want to compare the good authors’ writing style but I loved this version most because there was MORE ADORABLE AND UNDENIABLE ATTRACTION, PANT MELTING CHEMISTRY AND SARCASM in this book.

I enjoyed characters’ relationship progression from married couple-friends-lovers. This year I read so much freenemies stories. They shared same formula I wrote below:

HATING PROCESS: This part involves building tension between the couples, pranks they played on, resisting to like each other and resumed hating each other dilemma

IS THIS PLACE TOO HOT, SOMEBODY OPEN THE WINDOW PROCESS: Burning sexual desires they tried to hide, one unexpected kiss than BAM! Nothing seems the same which makes us move to the next part.

I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU, FRIENDS THEME SONG AND HANDS CLAPPING PART: The characters start to change and work on their friendship. They start to know each other and they become their person.

FALLING AND ROLLING INTO THE DEEP, PLAYED TO THE BEAT PART: They start to fall in each other and none of them are brave enough to say the L word! Immature chickenshit characters deserve to be scolded! But wait a minute! One of them is brave enough and ready to commit BUT….here comes the next progress.

EDGE/ANGST/ BRING OUT YOUR NAPKINS BITCHES PART: There is a naughty cliffhanger and a big revelation to test their trusts. They got separated to understand how they were each other’s forever.

GROVELING AND PROVING YOUR LOVE PART: We reach the final part (mostly the man) one side grovels to convince the other one take him/her back. And he or she makes a big gesture which makes us sigh incessantly and hold our hearts, making “aaauuvvv” sounds that disturb the neighborhood cats!

This book has the same formula but Sydney’s abuse story and her characteristics as strong, witty, golden-hearted, hard-worker, survivor made me adore her. Well, Scott is hottest ranch man you could ever imagine and I enjoyed his changing as soon as he started falling for Sydney. His first move to force her live in a cottage without hot water was dick-ish! And after the revelation part, I found his behaviors around Sydney extreme (gave me itchy hands! He deserved my slap shower!) so I cut one star because of his unfair attitudes and judgmental behaviors!

My hero is definitely Miller who force Scott travel around the world and gave him the excellent punishment he deserved. (No! He still deserves my slaps!) I gave him my virtual high five!

As a summary: This is a great example and one of the sweetest freenemies books of this year. I’m looking forward to read more of this author’s works.

Special thanks to NetGalley and talented P.Dangelico to share this fantastic, witty book’s ARC COPY with me in exchange my truly honest review!

I just love a good marriage of convenience story. Scott Blackstone, a reformed playboy, now cowboy was broodingly perfect. He threw every hardship he could think of at Sydney after they married to make her change her mind, but my girl was tough as nails. I love how Ms. Dangelico handled her backstory of child abuse with what she endured from her gaslighting religious grandparents. You could see how those events shaped her into the tough as steel woman that she was today. The chemistry, the slowburn, and sexual tension of this couple you could cut with a knife. I love how their defenses came down one by one until What they were left with, was what was..

This book is one of the best romance novels I have read in a while. You Can Have Manhattan is beautifully written, with even more beautiful characters who are both complex and relatable at the same time. I loved it from start to finish, and I just know this is something I would reread often. This is the first book I read by P. Dangelico and I honestly look forward to reading more of her work. Her writing style is beautiful, and the way she wrote this story was just magnificent. The character arcs were also amazing to read. Definitely recommend this to every romance reader!

OMG THIS BOOK! You Can Have Manhattan is my first book to read by this author and will not be my last. I have not been this emotional or crazed or highly anxious about a book in a long time!

When my good book blogger friend Angie told me to read it, I picked it up right away.

I was not expecting the tears, the frustration, the heartbreak and loss... the heat... the chemistry... OMG Scott and Sydney. This book is EVERYTHING I love about reading!

Scott and Sydney are thrown together in marriage by Scott's father so that she could become the next CEO of Blackstone.. Scott doesn't want to take over the family business and his dad wants to leave it with the next best person, someone he relies on and has groomed for years... his chief counsel. This marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers, slow burn will absolutely KILL YOU... but seriously, in the best possible way.

Because neither character is who they expect the other to be... there is growth and change and heartbreak... and clowns lol... and funny banter and sexy smirks and oh my goodness... did I already say it's TORTURE! I messaged the author... continuously... ask her ;) THIS is my favorite kind of read!

Dangelico delivers a well-written romance that will make you FEEL. Marriage is hard work... no one is perfect and mistakes will be made... some not so great that will make you question the character's true feelings (and brains!). But the apologies, the forgiveness, the heart behind the pain is what spoke to me, what made my eyes tear, what gave me heart palpitations and made me feel joy in the end. I could not stop smiling and just wanting the story to go on FOREVER.

Dangelico has a new forever fan... I am in awe of her talent and writing and I want more... I can't wait to dive into her backlist. This is a story I will never forget. <3
