I love the marriages of convenience trope, especially when both parties know exactly what they are getting into – so they are always a no brainer for me to read!

I enjoyed that both characters were strong, stubborn (I love me a good stubborn female protagonist) and that neither was going to back down. Sydney was determined to walk into this marriage with her eyes wide open to get what she needed, and Scott felt he was pushed into a corner and therefore, had no choice but he wasn’t going to make it easy for her. Both overcoming the demons of their pasts together and working though pain with each other was great.

I really enjoyed this story especially the prank Scott pulls on Sydney, and how they slowly came to care for each other - to see beyond the assumptions that they had previously made. However, it lost some of its luster for me when Sydney reveals the secret that she knows, and Scott blows up. I felt that her timing was bad and after all that they had been through, Scott used what he knows about her against her and ruins all she had worked for. It seemed very out of character for him, never giving her a chance to be heard and it felt kind of rushed to get it over done with, so they could break up. The ending did bring it all back together wonderfully, but I do wish the big reveal had been handled a little more gracefully.

This was my first book from this author and so going in I had no idea how steamy this one would be… so FYI its what I would consider super steamy .

Thank you to @netgalley and @ for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I liked the female character, but the hero was just a childish, immature asshole. I just couldn't forgive the way he treated her.

This was such a heartbreaking, heartwarming, emotional read for me -- I cried crocodile tears a few times while reading this one and I honestly couldn't get to sleep after I finished reading it! I loved Scott and Sydney's character's and really didn't want their journey to end--I adored them together so much. Well-developed characters and secondary characters and an excellent, unique storyline made for a very enjoyable read. An arranged marriage or marriage of convenience is one of my favorite genres and this one is up there as one of my favorites! Who doesn't love watching a reformed playboy fall for a strong, amazing woman?! Slow burn romance, sizzling sexual tension, humor, sweetness, tenderness, and so much emotion. I will certainly be looking forward to more from this author in the future. This was a 5-star winner for me. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Brilliantly done with a dual POV and I really, really liked this one.

I CRIED. ON THE TRAM. ALOT. Nuff said right? That says everything but I shall elaborate.

Sydney Evans is not what everyone thinks she is. She has earned her position as lead council the hard way and her mentor is the one she now needs to help. But it will come with a price and yet she does it anyway.

A forced/blackmailed marriage that might come to mean more who knows. I wouldn’t call them enemies maybe adversaries nevertheless what they were at the beginning, in the middle and at the end they sure did have chemistry. I have to say though that while reading this book at the beginning I have never met two people who are so frigging judgemental but soon realise that their prejudice is wrong.

Sydney might have been an ice princess but I related to her scars and flaws but Scott? What a douchecanoe how he ripped Sydney to parts don't care if he was hurting. The arsewipe. Sydney you deserve better, much better. I would have taken blood, skin, bone and Syd made him grovel. Secretly I do like Scott in an arsehole-ish way.

I'm docking a star because Sydney's childhood was reiterated a lot sometimes it was justified other times it wasn't.

Why didn't Frank leave a letter to Scott explaining everything? I felt as if Scott's pain wasn't really dealt with. He just suddenly had a frigging epiphany and all was hunky dory.

It is very well written and I enjoyed each and every moment of it and although this was slow burn it isn’t as slow burn as her other books. I would recommend it.

Sydney endured terrible abuse from her grandpatents, who raised her, and overcame it to become General Counsel for multibillion-dollar real estate company. When her mentor, the CEO, asks her to marry his son, she does, even though she hates him. Her life will never be the same! This is a great book! I will be looking for other books by this author!

4.5 STARS
You Can Have Manhattan took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. I think it is probably my favorite P. Dangelico book yet.

Sydney serves as the general council to Blackstone Holdings. Her life is consumed by her job and she has little time for friends. You will learn that Sydney had a horrible childhood, but she hasn’t let it ruin her life. Sydney is lonely but her job fulfills her for now.

Scott is the prodigal son of the owner to Blackstone holdings. Scott was a party whore and trouble maker in his youth. He has left that life behind and started over in Wyoming where he runs a profitable cattle ranch. His life is about to be turned upside down when his father tells him he must marry Sydney. Scott doesn’t care about Blackstone, but his father threatens to take everything from him. He agrees to a three-year marriage. Sydney gets to take over the company and Scott can walk away a free man.

Scott really tries to make Sydney miserable in the beginning. He doesn’t realize that her past has made her tough. He starts to respect and care for her but a secret that Sydney is keeping will soon derail them.

I loved the chemistry between Scott and Sydney. I loved how tough Sydney was. I hated how childish Scott could be. Sydney making Scott grovel in the end was amazing. All in all, I really enjoyed this story.

4.5 stars

Enemies to lovers plus a marriage of convenience. Lots of drama and angst with some hot sex. Sydney and Scott both broke my heart at different times. It left me almost in tears at one point, oh the pain. I really want to know more about his cowboy friends, Ryan and Drake.

All I really need to say about this book: TROPES. You Can Have Manhattan has a combo of my all-time fav tropes which are: marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers and COWBOYS. This honestly had me SOLD on signing up for an ARC before I’d even read any previous reviews on it. All of my favourite tropes in one book? It was pretty much a no -brainer.

While I was expecting a delightful combo of grumpy cowboys and a swift trip to the alter, I didn’t go in to this book with high expectations in regards to writing quality and character development. This story surprised me though! In a good way. It had a great combination of strong-willed MCs and loveable side characters that I can’t wait to read more about – at least I HOPE they get their own stories!

CHARACTERS

SYDNEY – What a gem of a woman. She was strong, intelligent and fiercely loyal. My kind of character. I love reading about someone confident in their capabilities and willing to go the extra mile for those they care about. Sydney was all of this and a little bit more. She had hidden depths of vulnerability that pulled on my heart strings. After an abusive childhood she really deserved to get her HEA!

SCOTT – Unfortunately got on my nerves. He had so many moments of joyous goodness that I was tempted to scream at him when he treated Sidneys so awfully. I know that it’s an enemies to lovers and SOMEONE has to be the bigger ass… but Scott went just a TEENSY BIT OVERBOARD in taking his anger out on Sidney. It felt drawn out and honestly took away from my enjoyment in this book. When he finally decided to be a good guy though I LOVED HIM. If he’d been like that throughout I’d have given this book a higher rating.

While I loved the pace and dialogue in this book (some of it was so witty and well written that I could imagine it as an epic rom-com…) I did have a few issues with originality in the story line. Despite this, it’s still a great summer day read that will leave you feeling happy and glad you picked it up.

♥️♥️♥️♥️

standalone novel by P Dangelico! A marriage. A business deal. Two enemies with scars and a past, but none of them thought they ll fall in love. Only three years Sydney and Scott had to pretend to Be a happy married couple. He is a playboy and she is a hardworking girl. They can't stand each other for a minute but for the sake of Scott"s dad who is Sydney"s boss, they have to stay together.

An angry queen with rainbows on her pjs. Technically, my queen.

This book is everything I needed! this story has depth and a smart way of storytelling. I loved each second of it, and i loved every character of the story. every person in this book has their own intense past from which they are recovering.

Sydney and Scott are perfect for each other even though they are poles apart. Scott is the playboy also known as loser where Sydney is a hardworking women who suffered through her life and now wants to Start fresh. She is such a strong Character, I admire her so much and the fact that she didn't let anyone rule her, earns my respect. Scott on the other hand supported her all along even though they kinda hate each other, but their chemistry was perfect!

If you like strong female lead then this book is for you. it had many ups and downs, it was like a roller coaster ride but it ended with a HEA.

the thing I liked the most about the book was that they reluctantly married, forced because of the situation but through out their journey they first understood each other then became friends and then started dating even though they were married. they took their relationship slow and smoothly which is my favorite.

there is so much to learn from this book and the fact that Scott and Sydney didn't rush into anything, made it more enjoyable to read.

Are you a fan of the marriage of convenience trope? If so, then pick up a copy of You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico. This gem is wonderfully written and the characters are well defined. I formed an immediate connection to corporate attorney Sydney Evans, and Scott Blackstone, a Wyoming ranch owner that used to be a worldly playboy. Their feelings for each are tangible and their time together is scorching hot. Sydney and Scott's love story is replete with longing, angst, and a bit of drama. I truly enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it highly. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

***5 "I'll always find you..." stars***

God, I love P. Dangelico's stories soooo much!!!!
Add to that my kind of trope which is a rearranged marriage turning to something more and hey.... I fell in love from the first chapter!!!

"Life changing moments rarely announce themselves. They’d rather sneak up and sucker punch you in the face by way of greeting. That’s how it happened for me. It started as a day like any other. Until it wasn’t. Until it turned into both the best and the worst day of my life."

Scott and Sidney...
A forced marriage between them...
Ill feelings in the way from many years before...
A small cabin on the countryside...
Unexpected feelings coming in between...
Some secrets of the past and the presence in the way, and bang...
A wonderful story that can charm your pants off!!!!

I won't say much, cause i still have no much time on my hands, but i would recommend this story in the blink of an eye!!!
I loved Syndey!!! Yep, she was supposed to be cold and very focused on her carrer, but the fresh air of the countryside and a brooding man who was making her life a living hell, show us how far away her true self was than she was appearing to be!!!
Scott was... hot in every aspect!!! I liked him how he were away from Manhattan... It was suiting him!!! I understand his reason why he was doing some things, but he was also unfair at some points!!!
No, i won't say more... You have to discover their story for yourselves!!!

"We’re not built to be alone. We need to connect. We’re designed to seek common ground, to hold each other up, to nurture one another. And he did that for me instinctually.”

The only thing that i will add is that I love that Mrs. Dangelico's stories have everything inside... They are funny, steamy, antsy and in a way... unpredictable!!! The twists are keeping you on your toes all the time and of course the characters are soooo swoony and wonderful!!! Every. Single. Time!!!!

4.5 stars. I loved Sydney. Despite her awful upbringing , she still was able to be open to a relationship. She discovered that she actually would like that. My issue was with Scott. He was so immature. What he did to Sydney when she got to the ranch was bad enough, but what he did wen he found out about his father was unconscionable. I don't know how Sydney forgave him so easily.

Scott doesn’t want Sydney and Sydney doesn’t Scott but while they are attempting to stay away from each other they are evidently drawn to each other; but Frank Blackstone has plans for his only son and his most valued employee.

Scott Blackstone was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and he lived up to the spoil, rich, entitled kid reputation. It’s been years since he’s lived that lifestyle. He’s currently a responsible and successful business owner. His father has always wanted to him to take over the family business, but Scott has never been interested, but his father is determined to bring him in one way or the other. He’s about to step down as CEO and wants a Blackstone to stay at the helm. Since Scott doesn’t want the position his father has demanded he marry next best person for the job. Either marry Sydney Evans or he’s cut out of the will all together.

Scott HATES Sydney. While Scott is successful in his own right and has his own money there something his father has the desperately wants. If he doesn’t marry Sydney, he loses it. Scott remembers Sydney as a spoiled pampered ice queen. After living in the lap of luxury in Manhattan, there’s no way she would be able to handle the remote rural land of Wyoming. He figures if she backs out of the marriage first then his father can’t blame him. All he has to do is make her as uncomfortable as possible until she breaks. Much to his amazement, Sydney is a trooper and she hangs in there making his job harder and harder. The longer Sydney toughs it out, the more Scott becomes entranced by her and pretty soon Scott finds himself head over heals in love with his wife.

Sydney Evans is Frank Blackstone’s right-hand man. She’s been by his side since she started with Blackstone Holdings. When Frank offers her the coveted position of CEO she couldn’t be happier, all of her dreams are coming true; but Frank drops the biggest bomb on her. The position is hers only if she marries his son, Scott. Sydney HATES Scott. Sydney owes everything to Frank Blackstone, so while she’s stunned to the core with his proposition she has an obligation to Frank to at least try. Not too mention, Frank has divulged information to Sydney that she can’t speak about, not even to Scott.

When Sydney arrives in Wyoming, she’s met with a totally different Scott. Gone is the party boy and womanizer. Standing before her is a serious business man. When he isn’t avoiding her life the plague, Sydney finds herself more and more attracted to her husband.

Yet again, P. Dangelico has given me a read I wasn’t expecting. This marriage of convenience/enemies to lovers grabbed me from the beginning. There was instant connection to both characters and their chemistry was great. I was more taken with the writing. I absolutely love when a writer manages to make me have a physical reaction to a situation. There were moments with Sydney where my heart actually hurt for her.

You know how you get that tight feeling in your chest when your feelings are hurt and you’re about to cry? That’s exactly what happened to me several times during this book. Sydney and Scott have tragic events in their pasts that had major impacts on them that know one else is aware of and when they talked about them it was heartbreaking! These were two people who fought each other as hard as they loved each other, and I loved them!!! If I could have anything added to the story, I would loved to have gotten more info on Sydney and Josh’s conversation.

Add this to your TBR.

You Can Have Manhattan is one of my favorite books of 2019. P. Dangelico honestly hit it out of the park with this one.

Sydney Evans is general counsel for Blackstone Holdings. Scott Blackstone is the black sheep son of the CEO of Blackstone Holdings. The two met briefly 10 years ago and there is definitely no love lost between the two of them. When Frank Blackstone insists the two get married, Sydney and Scott each agree for different reasons. I don't read a lot of marriage of convenience stories because they typically aren't even remotely believable. You Can Have Manhattan is not one of those books. I fully believed that Sydney and Scott would agree if this were real life.

From the beginning I kind of knew what the conflict would be. While I could predict that, I couldn't predict the build-up or the aftermath. This book had me laughing and had me crying. I honestly did not want it to end. I loved Sydney. I loved Scott (most of the time). I would have maybe liked the conflict to happen a little earlier or have a couple more chapter after the resolution, but that's purely for selfish reasons.

Pick this one up ASAP! Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have read almost all of this author's books and continue to fall even more in love with the stories she tells! I love a good slow burn romance that is more than just a romance. The stories fully suck me in and have me fully engrossed. I will continue to read everything she releases cause I know it is guaranteed to be a good time.

I received an ARC from Netgalley and I am happy to give my honest review.

I keep hearing good things about this author so I was happy to request this book. I read another one by her recently that was New Adult and not my thing. This book, however, was definitely my cup of tea.

Sydney is a successful attorney in the Blackstone corporation and right-hand woman to the CEO Frank. He concocts a scheme to get Sydney to marry his prodigal son Scott, a ranch owner in Wyoming. This scheme required her keeping a large secret from Scott and she was never comfortable but went along with it for the chance to become the next CEO.

Scott feels blackmailed into the marriage to save the land his father has bought to make a national park. Uhh, that's pretty awesome. This dude is cool. He was a wild child and has settled down into a responsible businessman who cares about the environment. Except that he is a total jerk to Sydney. This book is enemies to lovers to the extreme. I wanted to punch Scott in the face. I'm surprised Sydney didn't do it herself.

You know the rest. They fall into lust and then into love. There's a little backstory about Sydney's family that I feel deserves a trigger warning for childhood abuse. It gave her character a lot of depth and made me like her more. Then the unexpected happens and Scott turns on Sydney and ruins her career in one fell swoop. She leaves and he spends several weeks trying to hold onto his righteous anger. And then he realizes he's sorry and misses her. I needed more grovel from him. The ending felt neat and tidy and I wanted it to be more heartwrenching and gritty than what we were given. Sydney deserved more from him.

Anyways, this was a good book and I snuck reading into my workday because I needed to know what happened. I will now call myself a P. Dangelico adult fiction fan and I can't wait to read more of her work.

P. Dangelico always come through with engaging novels that have readers invested from the first page. The enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience dynamics of this novel creates a wonderful tension between the two very relatable main characters, Sydney and Scott. Readers will not be able to put this Dangelico novel down.

You Can Have Manhattan is a book that was so good it kept me up half the night. Great characters and a story full of humour, romance angst and passion, it made me smile and also brought a lump to my throat and it takes a lot for a book to do that to me, it has to be pretty good and this book did it in spades.
Sydney is such a great female lead having overcome some horrific occurrences in her childhood, she is coerced by her much loved boss to marry his son Scott, they had met ten years previously when his playboy hedonistic lifestyle had been a complete anathema to Sydney.
The two lock horns Scott quite frankly being an absolute d**k and pretty foul towards Sydney, but he soon realises her strength of character and a passionate relationship begins.
I don’t want to give too much away , this story is just too enjoyable to give any spoilers, thank you Ms Dangelico...you moved me.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.
