Well I have to say I loved this book; marriage of convenience that was anything but convenient for the parties involved. I loved Sydney, she was so strong and persevered over a very abusive past and became what she wanted. Scott was a bit of butmole right from the beginning and pretty much stayed that way for a while but Sydney didn’t allow it for long.

I absolutely enjoyed that Sydney didn’t let Scott get away with anything, she was constantly handing him his a** and before long Scott fell hard. However, there is a secret between them that was the major cause of the arranged marriage and when it comes to light, sh*t hits the fan. But my favorite part was that Sydney did not forgive and forget with Scott after what he did; even his own sister was not pleased with Scott.

I just loved everything about this story especially the epilogue.

I wonder if we will get a book on Ryan or Drake (aka Cowboy Casanova)?

Can the playboy be something special?

This book is another high punch drawma, P. Dangelico waists no time sucking you in and reminding us the reader she is one imaginative writer. She will remind you page after page of all the angst when looking for love.

The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shocking moments. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: You are cordially invited to the worst wedding of the century.

Sydney Evans is no stranger to hard work. It’s the one constant in her life. And with no family or friends to speak of it’s been easy to pour everything she has into her career as general counsel for Blackstone Holdings.

She wants for nothing. Until her boss offers her a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. All she has to do in return is marry his good-for-nothing son.

Scott Blackstone used be a party whore. Pardon, party animal. He hasn’t been that guy in a long time though. Not since he moved to Wyoming, bought a failing cattle ranch, and turned it into a profitable business.

All is good. Until a phone call from his father threatens the quiet, simple life he’s built. Marry or lose everything. And to a woman who can’t stand him, no less. Well, Scott is not going down without a fight. He’s never going back to Manhattan. Not if he can help it.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico

Frank Blackstone is a master manipulator and what he wants is to have his Scott, his son, and his general counsel, Sydney Evans, marry one another. His motives are suspect and since Scott and Sydney do not like one another to get them to actually tie the knot takes knowing just which buttons to push. A marriage of convenience that is not very convenient for bride or groom with quite a few issues to overcome is the basis of this story.

I have to say I found Sydney remarkable and strong and a woman to be admired. She was honest, gave of herself and never asked for much in return. She thrived in spite of her horrific childhood and truly impressed me. Scott, on the other hand, seemed rather immature for a man of 38. He had always been a bit spoiled and did what he wanted but seemed to be a bit better the past eight years...then again...when things didn’t go his way he really didn’t like it. Scott was almost as manipulative as his father and knew just how to strike where it would hurt the most.

There eventually was a HEA but only after the couple went through a LOT to get there. They did belong together but there were times I wanted to boot Scott to the curb...while other times I really liked him. In addition to the marriage of convenience, the ups and downs and all the rest there were a few characters in the story I would love to see books written about. Ryan and Drake were two that come to mind.

Did I enjoy this story? I did

From the start I had a smile on my face. It’s a great set-up for an enemies-to-lovers, fake marriage romance. It was everything I wanted and more. It gave me a story and a couple to completely fall in love with and root for that happily-ever-after.

There is so much more to Sydney Evans and Scott Blackstone than what you see on the surface. They don’t really know each other even though they have somewhat of a history. They both have secrets. They both have assumptions. Their attraction is undeniable. I loved their banter and vulnerability. It was the best of both worlds. I couldn’t wait to see them give into the intense chemistry.

Sydney’s background is hard to fathom. It hurt reading about it. But her strength and good nature were fantastic. She is a wonderful soul. Scott is such a hard nose and just so stubborn. I wasn’t sure he’d ever lighten up. That’s doesn’t mean i didn’t like him because I absolutely did. Watching him break down and give in to all that emotion was some of the best parts of the story.

The writing is stellar. The dual POV was perfect and the inner dialogue gave so much insight. This story pulled me out of a reading slump. It was truly amazing. It gave me the feels from beginning to end. Get it on your TBR. I can’t recommend it enough.

Charming, heartwarming, beautiful, this book had it all. An enemies to lovers story, this is exactly what I needed, it was straight perfection. The slow burn romance between Sydney and Scott really seemed to make their connection that more defined and unforgettable. I absolutely loved this book. The story just kept getting better and better as the book carried on. What an absolute piece of magic.

Thank you to P. Dangelico and NetGalley for gifting me with the ARC.

4.5 Stars!

I've finally read my first P. Dangelico book and I have to say, I'm all in. It had all the makings of the perfect romance for me - two favorite tropes (enemies-to-lovers and marriage of convenience), swoon-worthy tension and tenderness, and convincing conflict. It also had some wonderful banter. On first impression, I was concerned that Sydney was going to be a hard heroine to connect with, but after setting foot in Wyoming, I was smitten. She was the perfect combination of strength, resilience and vulnerability. An excellent match for the stubborn facade that Scott was hopelessly aiming to maintain. Their chemistry was perfection and it took all I had in order to put the book down at any given point. I didn't want the story to end, because who knew when I would get those kind of delicious feels again. In the end, it was an easy and quick-like read without lacking substance and story development.

What a perfect romance !!
I adored the characters. They were both so real and easy to relate to. The marriage of convenience story was I admit right up my alley. It was funny, sweet, heart-wrenching. I wanted to hug them and talk some sense into them at the same time.
But the best thing was probably Ms Dangelico's writing. SHe charms me and suck me in every single time ! She's become one of my top 3 romance writers over the years. Can't wait for more books from her.

You Can Have Manhattan by P. Dangelico is a MUST READ for all the romance readers.

One of the best romance novels I have read this year.

"Life-changing moments rarely announce themselves. They’d rather sneak up and sucker punch you in the face by way of greeting. That’s how it happened for me. It started as a day like any other. Until it wasn’t. Until it turned into both the best and the worst day of my life."

It got me hooked from the first sentence. Add the fact that this is a marriage of convenience story between two people who don't really like each other, and you get an addicting unputdownable book.

Sydney Evans is a hardworking lawyer in a big New York based company. She has no private life besides her work even her best friend is her assistant. Her boss offers her a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a CEO. All she has to do is marry his son and stay married for three years.
Scott Blackstone used to be the life of every party. Not since he moved to Wyoming eight years ago, bought a cattle ranch, and turned it into a profitable business. When his father blackmails him into marriage with Sydney he is angry and ready to make a city girl quit the deal, and get back to Manhattan.
While Sydney is trying to accommodate to her new life and be cordial with Scott, he is not going down without the fight and schemes. What happens next is a series of events that make me laugh and swoon.
As the two get to know each other and fall in love, I did it too.

There is nothing that I disliked about this book.
There were a couple of times when Scott calls her babydoll but it was more of a joke than a serious nickname so I can get over it. ( is not a nickname I like so it is a purely subjective thing)

“If I was a dude, I’d knock your teeth out!”
“If you were a dude, I’d be gay.”
“If you were gay, I might actually like you!”
“If I was gay, I wouldn’t be tempted to do this––” Dropping the towel, he took hold of my face, cradling it gently but firmly in his hands, and kissed me. Kissed me like he was into me. Kissed me like I was his to kiss."

This is a perfect read for you if you love;
-slow burn
-marriage of convenience
-enemies to lovers
-representation & character diversity
-realistic premise
-relatable heroine
-banter
-depth
-cute animals in the story
-grovel
-happy end

"We’re not built to be alone. We need to connect. We’re designed to seek common ground, to hold each other up, to nurture one another. And he did that for me instinctually.”

I am in love with P. Dangelico's writing and this is her best work so far. I love that she writes about characters that overcome their past troubles. I love how Sydney wasn't bitter despite what she been trough.
I wouldn't mind reading books by some of the side characters wink Damon wink.

This book put a smile on my face.
I highly recommend it.

You Can Have Manhattan hooked me from the very beginning. Right off the bat, I knew Sydney was in trouble when her boss, Frank offers her the job of her dreams with the stipulation that she marry his playboy son, Scott. This book truly has it all. It has enemies to lovers, arranged marriage/fake marriage, damaged heroine looking for acceptance, damaged hero running from responsibilities, slow-burn romance, reformed manwhore, and more. Ms. Dangelico wrote these characters in a way that made them relatable and easy to care about. Hence, I was so invested in the two of them getting it all "figured out." that when their relationship was falling apart, I was absolutely heartbroken for them.

Sydney and Scott are both strong-willed individuals who each have an incredible work ethic if they are passionate about the work. It just so happens that Sydney is committed to Blackstone Holdings whereas Scott is committed to his ranch. For each of these reasons, Scott's father is able to manipulate them in to marrying. Sydney looks at it as a necessary evil. However, Scott views it similar to extortion and approaches it with a resentful attitude.

As time progresses, the walls come down and feelings are realized. Scott discovers that Sydney isn't the "ice maiden" that he thought. Likewise, Sydney finds out that Scott is actually hard-working where his ranch is concerned and has outgrown his lazy playboy behavior of the past. Can they find enough common ground to make a real attempt at their marriage?

I found this to be an incredibly unique take on some tropes that have been seen quite a bit in romance novels. Something similar may have been done in other books, but it definitely felt fresh and different in You Can Have Manhattan. I highly recommend this little gem. It left me with warm and fuzzy feelings. In addition, you are able to see two individuals who learn how much another person can change and that you can't always judge people based on past experiences.

Thank you to NetGalley and P. Dangelico for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have just recently discovered P. Dangelico's books and I am now a big fan! She adds just the right amount of humor, with chemistry and you just can't but help fall for the characters and the storyline.

You Can Have Manhattan is a fast-paced, charming story that you won't want to put down. I have started to really enjoy the marriage of convenience genre (troupe) so this one fit in perfectly!

Scott Blackstone is the heir apparent to a large fortune 500 company, but he doesn't want anything to do with it. He spent his formative years partying and not having a care in the world. When he finally settles down, it is a failing cattle ranch that he makes into a success.

Sydney Evans has worked her entire life to become more than her circumstances made her. As the right hand of the elder Mr. Blackstone, she has responsibilities and stability. And now, she has the opportunity to become his successor. The only catch, she has to marry Scott.

This novel surprised me. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The story was full of ups and downs and the characters had multiple dimensions. The love story seemed possible considering the events that Scott and Sydney dealt with in the past and present. I look forward to more by this author.

This book had humour and angst. I loved the battle of wills between Sydney and Scott. I loved her tenacity- living in the cabin and just making it work sure did surprise Scott! As a reader you know what is coming and what the impact is going to be but still in my mind Scott went completely over the top. Sydney should have made him grovel a lot more! We get our HEA and a small epilogue - would have loved more.

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting my request for an ARC of this book. The review below is entirely my own opinion.

I am a big fan of how Ms Dangelico tells a story. I love the way she takes readers on a journey as you get to know the MC's. I love the way she slowly builds a story, a relationship --- and how things feel so real and makes you, the reader, totally invested in the lives of the people in the book and the ongoings of what's happening in the story. I love the way she brings characters, even the secondary ones to life. (Romeo and Juliet, Scott's dogs, stole my heart. And to be honest, Miller, Sydney's assistant was my favorite character of them all.)

Even though the marriage-of-convenience trope isn't a favorite of mine, I thought this one was handled really well. There wasn't any b.s. about how it came about which I totally appreciated. I would've wanted a "meatier" epilogue but that's only because I'm an epilogue junkie. :p

I was so excited to be accepted for an ARC of this, so a huge thank you to P. Dangelico!

Sydney Evans is the general counsel for a massive corporation and have her boss to thank for everything. One day she gets offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, all she has to do is marry the boss’s party-animal son.
What she doesn’t know is that Scott Blackstone has turned his life around, and now runs a successful cattle ranch in Wyoming. He in turn gets blackmailed by his father to marry Sydney, or he might lose everything.

I absolutely loved the premise of this book, and in some ways it reminded me of some of my absolute favorite romance novels. It had some of my favourite tropes; the fake/arranged marriage, hate-to-love, but also the characters trying to get each other to back out of the marriage with some white lies and horrible decorating. I also loved that the characters where a bit older (mid to late 30’s) which gave them a sense of security in themselves. The characters definitely had some depth, and both of them had sadness and hard times in their past. Sydney was one of those incredibly strong women I love that doesn’t let anything stop them, but at the same time I loved how she could be vulnerable. Scott was the perfect reformed playboy, but of course he had some issues he had to work out trough this book. With the early antagonism and some of the side characters there was also some funny bits and of course there were some sexy bits, but not overly much (I definitely liked Scotts dirty mouth though).

I read this in a day, I just couldn’t stop! This was the perfect mix of sweet, sexy, funny and heartbreaking.

The only thing i didn't love was that the ending felt a bit rushed, some things just happened so quickly that I feel like I didn’t get the time to get emotionally invested in them. Still going to give it 5 stars though, I absolutely loved this!

Thank you to #netgalley and the author for this copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love P. Dangelico’s writing!

Sydney Evans has worked for Frank Blackstone as general counsel at Blackstone Holding since she finished law school. Frank was her boss and mentor so when he asked to marry his son so the company would stay in the family because he was dying of terminal skin cancer. Sydney first refused because she didn’t like Scott Blackstone since he lived off family money and didn’t do anything other than party. Scott had moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to basically save his life and get away from the party scene. He owned and managed a large ranch and when his dad asked him to marry Sydney, he tried to run her off by pretending he lived in shack.

Sydney assumes that Frank told Scott the truth and Scott that his dad was just thinking of the future, but he finds out differently after his father dies but that is what makes the book so good to read.

I read You Can Have Manhattan straight through because I wanted to see how Sydney and Scott dealt with everything after they got married and it was worth it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oh my God, that was GOOD. Not that I expected any less from P. Dangelico because everything I’ve read by her has been fantastic, but this sucked me in from the start and kept me riveted until the very last page. I had to take a brief break to sleep overnight, but I really wasn’t happy about it. It’s so complex and deeply romantic, pairing two people who should not fit together but somehow work perfectly (at least now that they’ve had some time to mature). The ultimate slow burn, I found myself loving reformed party whore Scott and his slow dive into love.

The story follows Sydney, a workaholic lawyer living in New York City who has thrived in life despite her horrible upbringing. She’s devoted to her work and the man who gave her life purpose, and she would do anything to keep him happy.... so when he tells her his dying wish is that she marry his disappointment of a son so that she can take over the company after his death, it’s not something she can refuse. Sydney met Scott about 10 years ago, and he certainly left an impression... but not in a good way. The stereotypical wealthy party whore, Scott had no shame and no desire for more from life. He’s no more enthusiastic about the marriage than Sydney is, especially since he finally has his life on track and is living how he wants out in Wyoming, but he’s got his own reasons for agreeing to the marriage. They just need to get through the next 3 years without killing each other, and then they can both move on with their own lives.

I read a lot of marriage of convenience romance novels, and I love the forced closeness that comes from the couple living together. I also love the banter that comes from an enemies to lovers romance, the tension and slow build to love. This is no different but it is done SO WELL. Everything felt so authentic; these characters go through every emotion imaginable, slowly building from resentful roommates into true partners in marriage. Dangelico navigates the complexities perfectly, because a man who used to let his desire motivate his every action is not an inherently likeable character, but I absolutely loved Scott. He shows how much he’s grown and proves himself to be a worthy partner for the strong and steady Sydney. It was well worth the read and a book I will definitely purchase even though I received an ARC via NetGalley. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this fantastic book.

You Can Have Manhattan is a marriage of convenience between Sydney Evans and Scott Blackstone. It's arranged by Scott's father, who also happens to be Sydney's boss, in order to keep his company in the family. Scott and Sydney's relationship starts off rocky but the they way they fall for each other was sweet.
If you love a good marriage of convenience story then this book is for you.

This was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from her!

P. Dangelico has become a "must read" author for me over the last year, but fake/forced marriage storylines are very hit-or-miss for me, so I went into this a little skeptical.

And then, I proceeded to lose an entire day of my life because I didn't want to spend a single second away from Sydney, Scott, and their crazy addictive chemistry.

Holy Hannah this was good stuff. It moved very quickly, and yet I never felt like I was being cheated out of anything. My heart leaped on board the minute it met our growly alphahole hero, and it stayed fully engaged for the rollercoaster ride that ensued. And in the end? It was greatly rewarded for its troubles. It hurt so good.

From the aptly named title to the sparky, charged banter, to the unexpectedly lovable characters (Sydney, in particular, was a fantastic surprise with all kinds of emotional depth), to the wonderfully sweet ending, You Can Have Manhattan cemented Ms. Dangelico's status as a must-read author for me. Another fantastic hit! ~ 4.5 Stars

Will I recommend it?- 💯% perfect for the fans of marriage of convinience story plus its P. Dangelico. Need I to say more?

It is the best marriage of convinience romance for me.

Okay I will start by saying that this is a year of arriage marriage/marriage of convinience in romance book world. I have read most of the books in this genre this year than any of the years combined. Anyway moving on this is a great marriage of convinience/second chance romance book by P. Dangelico( and I am not saying it because I love her books. I am biased about her but this is my unbiased opinion of it). I could not have thought that any of her book could compare after reading "Nothing but trouble" early this year but I have been wrong. This brand new book " You can have Manhattan" Of hers took the cake! I was so happy when I wake up bright and early and saw this 'sunshine' sitting on my email smiling down at me. So I have to thank netgalley and also the author for a chance to review it early❤. I had a huge smile on my face reading it the whole time. I finished it today morning . I was up till 2 am reading this one before finally going to bed. Its has quickly become my all time favourite!

‌Imagine you are a cut throat corporate lawyer at a fortune 500 company. And not only that you are also the right hand woman to the head hancho, the formidable Frank Blackstone who is also a father figure and a mentor to you in addition to being your boss(and lets not forget that he is also a huge prankstar). So when Frank tells you that he is sick and his days are numbered you though that he must be joking and when he asks you to marry his son(cause he has no interest in his family's legacy) and become the CEO after his death, you are sure that he is joking! But unfortunately he is not. So like any other rational person you agree to do what have been asked of you. Our girl,Sydney did the same. I kinda have a huge girl crush on Sydney. She is calm, controlled and level headed personified in addition to being beauty with all the brains. She is calculated but has a heart of gold. Despite having a less than ideal childhood and being constantly lonely, she picked herself up and dust herself everytime life sent a curve ball her way. The girl is a total class act!

"Being a woman in a male dominated business meant I was often underestimated and seldom given the respect I deserved. It didn’t bother me. On the contrary, I used it to my advantage and laughed all the way to the bank."

You must be thinking why should Sydney have all the blackmail....let me tell you Frank didn't hesitate to call his son and threatened to sell the land(piece by piece) on which his son, Scott Blackstone build a profitable business on by rearing heards of animals. So both party (under duress and huge reluctance) agreed to marry each other and remain married for three years so that Sydney can be the acting CEO after Frank is gone. Atlast that was the plan(or was it?🙄). None the less I have to admit that Frank was a good manipulator though with best interest at heart. The man called Sydney "the son he never had". So the oldman shoved them both together in this mess of a marriage. Let me clarify the fact that Sydney and Scott are no stranger to each other. The shared a kiss at his sister's wedding 10 years ago where he arrived with not one but two beautiful model dates on his arms thus living upto his playboy millionaire boy reputation. Despite of this they shared a streamy kiss until the moment Scott called Sydney by the wrong name and she like any respectable girl in her position would do! She kicked him in his family **ahemm** jewels🙄.

"Sydney Evans… I’d met her over a decade ago–– at the height of my party days–– and vaguely recalled kissing her at my sister’s wedding. I also recalled it being pretty damn good before she kneed me in the nuts."

Anyway 10 years is a long time and Scott changed a lot in the years. He had a very bad experience with his friend and his girlfriend which led to a huge heartbreak for him. He left his lifestyle and lived like a working man as a farmer abeit a very rich and handsome looking cowboy but still ....🤭. But he didn't stop being a huge "pain in the ass" to Sydney.

"I had no doubt that Scott had shot out of his mother’s womb stunning the doctors and nurses with his Instagram model level masculine beauty. But to me, he was ten times more appealing with his rugged tan and scruffy face and body like a backroad than when he’d been getting his nails buffed."

He showed up drunk at his own Vegas wedding, left his wife at every chance he got, made her life a living hell but Sydney bless her heart didn't even complain. No even when she was forced to sleep in on the floor, stay in a small cabin with no heaters with two two very cute but very smelly dogs and also showering with cold water thinking that her husband actually lives in that place and does not have a big house of his own in the same property with all modern facialities. Oh and he also left her every night and asked her not to stay up which quiet naturally led her to think that he was sleeping with other women.

“If I was a dude, I’d knock your teeth out!”
“If you were a dude, I’d be gay.”
“If you were gay, I might actually like you!”
“If I was gay, I wouldn’t be tempted to do this––” Dropping the towel, he took hold of my face, cradling it gently but firmly in his hands, and kissed me."

The girl took all the blows and I felt very sorry for her. But even the most patient people have their limits. But it was fun to watch the antics they pull on each other! Its suffice to say that Sydney found out all about Scott's antics eventually and its suffice to say that she was livid. She not only accused of being childish but also stopped talking with him but not before they shared an angry kiss. Which sums up their relation in a nutshell. They don't want to like each other but they couldn't ignore the fact that they were attracted to each other two and soon they started to live their life as a happy couple. For a very short while. Scott shared the death of his friend and his fear of ending just like him with Sydney and she too opened up about her less than ideal childhood and about her first love and how tragically that ended. But like I said Scott's father's health and Scott's complete lack of knoledge about the situation indicated what was about to happen next. And when Frank died and Sydney confessed all about it to Scott, its safe to say it all went downhill from there taking Sydney's and Scott's budding marriage with it. It was heartbreaking to see Scott lashing out at Sydney. Though everything worked out at the end,its was still not okay to do that to someone to claim to love. Anyways all things aside, Sydney and Scott were fundamentally so different from one another an this is surely an opposite attract love story. Though Scott was a douchbag 90% of the times its still safe to say that he came around at last and was a midly lovable character in the story. All the secondary characters were so funny and did a huge job of complimenting the story. And I loved Sydney. She is my soul person. I related with her on so many levels.

"I didn’t want to be perceived as weak, as a “survivor.” I didn’t survive anything. I thrived despite my history."

Such an entertaining book. I had so much fun attending the worst wedding of the century. Oh and I love to find the meaning behind the title...so here is it👉

“You can have Manhattan.”

"We were essentially as wrong for each other now as we’d been ten years ago."

I would recommend it to every arrange marriage/ marriage of convinience rom-com fans. Happy reading...xoxo.
