This is the first book I've read by Jaci Burton, although I do have some of her hockey romances on my TBR. I have to admit, I wasn't really ready to read a book set during Christmas when it's barely even fall here in PA. But if you are a fan of Christmas-themed sexy, romances, I think this one might be for you!

This book is an adult romance, so there are a lot of sexy times to be had in it. It's a very steamy book with high-level of heat. If that is your thing, have at it. However, if that's not your thing, maybe pass on this one. I enjoyed the scenes and thought they were written pretty well.

I thought Alice's work as a matchmaker was a pretty interesting career path. But, I really didn't get all her hang-ups about how she needed to be in LA for her work. Especially when she says that she can "work from anywhere." Like okay...so why can't you just move? It kind of annoyed me. It's not a big hangup, but the one thing that did make it harder for me to like this was the fact that the romance feels really instalovey. Like, relax, it's been ONE WEEK.

Beside my issues with the instalove, I ripped through this book, and I definitely want to read more books from this author.

*I received a review copy of this book via the publisher Berkley Publishing Group via Netgalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This needed to be a longer book. Because of it being a novella the jumps from lust to love to the end that made me go 'are you kidding? you just met a week ago' were jarring.
There needed to be more build up of romance between the two of them. The conversations they had involved Clay answering a matchmaker questionnaire. No chemistry even though they kept saying they had a lot of it.
The end of the book made me roll my eyes in the back of my head.

A different story about a matchmaker who surprises herself when she falls for a cowboy. I love Jaci Burton's books. They put me in a good mood.
It is still summer, so I should have waited to read this one closer to the holidays to enjoy it more!

This was a cute, short read from Jaci Burton. I'm always a little hesitant with a matchmaker premise, but I really loved this book. Alice and Clay are two fun characters!

Thank you. NetGalley for the ARC. Let me preface this review by stating that no one reads Jaci Burton because they are interested in reading great literature. It's a fast read full of dirty smut. Its erotic fiction, so you get what you ask for. However, this just made me roll my eyes a little too much. Between the "lust=love at first sight, to the er, intimate scenes. I mean, come on. It was just nonsense. This book was smutty fluff with no depth. I felt no interest in either character and couldn't care about the outcome.

So if you don’t know, I haven’t read much romance books in my life. I can count them on one hand. I have read some great ones but this one just didn’t live up to my expectations for a couple of reasons.

One of the reasons I decided to request this book was because of the cover. It is just so cute! I also was intrigued by the synopsis because anything with matchmaking I am here for. That is where one of my expectations fell short at. It seemed that Alice would try to set him up and she did once but he never even went out with the person. As for the plot, it just didn’t live up to what I expected from the synopsis. I liked the idea of it but it just wasn’t executed well. It also felt a bit rushed. The plot is just very much based around the insta-lust between Alice and Clay and that is why it just wasn’t for me.

The relationship between Alice and Clay wasn’t very believable. They shared a week together and although they discussed what they wanted out of life, there wasn’t much of them getting to know one another. I know that others wouldn’t find this as a problem and maybe its just me. I just like things to be realistic, you know?

The setting is very cool and I was here for the snowy/holiday atmosphere. It gets you in the mood to sit by a fire, cuddled up with a good book in hand.

Overall, it was an okay read but the issues I had with it were just too much for my liking. I am sure others will enjoy this one so definitely take my review lightly!

Alice arrives in Oklahoma to help smooth the way with preparations for her best friend's wedding the following weekend. Unfortunately, there is a sudden snow storm that strands her and a neighbor, Clay, together with the wedding planners family. Clay and Alice are wildly attracted to each other and have an affair, falling in love in a week. Maybe that's possible but I felt that it was too hard to believe in this story.

I thought this was a cute wintery romance that will definitely get you in the mood to curl up next to a fire place and drink some hot chocolate. Loved the wintery and Oklahoma setting.

3.5 stars - I love me some Jaci Burton holiday romances, and while this is not my favorite of her Christmas novellas, it is definitely full of her usual charm. While I think the stage setting for what will clearly be a new series coming from her set on this vineyard was a little clunky, the chemistry between the two main leads carried the day so I bumped it up a half star on that strength. Recommended to get you in the holiday spirit
