I've been a fan Ross Mathews ever since I watched him during late night on Chelsea Lately! Every day I would hope that he (and Loni) would be the panelists. There was just something so authentic and funny about him. I learned by watching him that "funny" didn't always have to be dirty or push the political correctness. Sometimes the best joke is in the pun! Then they put him on Ru Paul's Drag Race and I just sit back patiently waiting for his screen time, and now that the recent season is over, it'd be a while before I caught him on TV again.

I didn't realize until receiving this copy of 'Name Drop' through NetGalley how much I missed him. Once I picked it up it I could not put it back down. I knew I was in for a treat when he defines what Name-Dropping is! Reading this book was like having your best friend tell you all of their crazy stories over their famous 7-layer bean dip. Every chapter was quintessential Ross. He's me if I ever met any of these celebrities. I couldn't help but laugh and smile every chapter. This book was wickedly funny!

Add in some amazing drink and food recipes and it's just the perfect book!! I can't wait until this comes out so I can get a hard copy for myself. Hoping he doesn't take too long before he writes his next book, and I'm equally excited to see him shamelessly plug it on the next season of Drag Race, haha!

What a fun book. Lots and lots of name dropping, hence the title of this book. Don't miss this one of your into bearing about the coolest celebs.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free,it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

This book was received as an ARC from Atria Books in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I have always been a fan of Ross Matthews and his colorful personality he has on the TV Screen. I have seen him on Chelsey Lately and on Celebrity Big Brother where he is not afraid to express his flamboyant personality and holds nothing back and this book exemplifies it and more. One thing I love was that he was never afraid to say what he feels and I was glad to see that a lot of celebrities he idolized respected him for it and later became good friends with him especially reflecting on his story with Rosie O'Donnell. One of my favorite parts of the book was where he included cocktail and food recipes as well as telling his celebrity stories, it was like you were joining him on a dinner or lunch date. I can not wait to share this book with our community. They will love it very much.

We will consider adding this title to our Biography collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Yaasss! Grab this book as soon as you have a chance. Name dropping, recipes, cocktails. I'm there. I've loved Ross over the years, and I thank Net Galley and Atria Books for an advance of this book in exchange for my honest review. Ross does a fabulous job of sharing his celebrity stories, but not being mean about it. He tells it like it is, but at the same time, he'll be quick to acknowledge (in his own special way) when his perception of the situation might've clouded the memory. If you want the tea, but want to have a cocktail with it, or if you want to know what happens when a fangirl (man, boy? What is a male fangirl?) gets to come face to face with his people, this is the book for you. Honestly- this is the book for anyone who wants to move away from the problems of the world for a time. GET it.

This book is so much fun! It's a really quick read, I finished it in a day. I felt like I was reading the book in Ross' voice. He tells stories I've never heard and I felt like I got an insight into the real lives and relationships of celebrities.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I am actually bumping this up to 4.5 stars, like the celeb fan I am, I messaged Ross on Instagram letting him know I was reading an advance copy, and like the kind, funny, sweetheart of a guy that he is, he messaged me back the same day! This book reads like you are sitting next to Ross, probably over a few drinks and having one of his rossipes that are included in the book. Like me, Ross loves the Spice Girls and was devastated when they broke up, but unlike me, I did not get the pleasure of getting to sit next to Posh Spice on a plane for hours on end having girl talk, Ross you lucky duck you! Ross dives into his vault and tells many a tell of all the celebs he's met., even ones who can't remember him (how could you, Barbara?!) Overall a great, funny read that will have you laughing out loud, and wishing you and Ross were friends in real life.

This book was a lot of fun. I feel like it delivered exactly what it promised: some juicy but not overly scandalous celebrity stories.

I was only familiar with Ross Mathews as an interviewer on the red carpet but that was enough for me to assume he had some good celebrity gossip.
It turns out that he’s had a much longer career in entertainment and has met a ton of famous people.

He is entertaining but also respectful.
He tells interesting stories about a lot of big names (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, etc) but he’s not out to ruin anyone’s careers here.
A lot of the stories involve being surprised by how nice the celebrity is.

It’s also funny.
I like his positive, upbeat attitude and I enjoyed the stories he told. If there’s another book of his celebrity encounters, I’d read it too.

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

This was entertaining and I appreciated that it was pretty kind over all - even when he was telling stories that weren't flattering, Mathews wasn't mean spirited. The two things that really took this from 4 stars to 3 stars for me were a) sometimes the puns were just too much and it took me out of the story and b) there are a lot of self-deprecatory comments about Mathews' weight which is sad and also sends a bad message to readers who might be struggling with accepting themselves.
