What a wonderful start for a debut psychological thriller! I thought this book was well-written with a compelling plot. This author pulled some punches that I did not see coming.

With a thrilling storyline and interesting characters, this read kept me enthralled. I found myself despising certain characters and rightly so whilst also being completely wrong about others. Definitely worth a read.

I really enjoyed this book, and have to give it a 4-5 star rating! I found it quite disturbing and am sure it may cause triggers for some, but the more disturbing the better to me! Lots of twists & turns, chills, and thrills! A great debut, which I’m sure shows a promising future for this author! Grab yours today!
Will make sure I buzz it up!

I enjoyed this book although the title was a little misleading. Charlotte is married to Tom who is very controlling along with his mother Isadora. One day she meets Ewan and falls in love with him.
They make plans to spend a life together but on the day Charlotte leaves Tom after revealing she is in love with another man, Ewan has disappeared. A very tense and disturbing read as Charlotte begins to find out what has happened to Ewan and she does not know who to trust. A great debut by Samantha Lee Howe and well written. A must read.

Definitely interesting and engaging, Very unusual mystery but thought the writing a bit basic. However, I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it

I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. It is my first book read by this author. I hope to read more books by this author.

We all think money would solve all our worries, and it might to some extent. But the old saying about money not buying happiness is true. Charlotte may have all the things that money could buy, but the love and passion she wants is nonexistent. So when Ewan comes along, she throws caution (and her marriage) to the wind in exchange for passion and excitement. But Ewan is not what he seems and when he disappears, Charlotte will be left with nothing. A cautionary tale – any man who seems too good to be true, is.

This book is about a woman trapped in a controlling relationship. What she does who she sees is all controlled by her husband and his mother. She falls in love with another man but is it that simple. I quite enjoyed the book. Sometimes I wish she had more backbone but I guess this way is more realistic. I liked the ending.

The Stranger in Our Bed by Samantha Lee Howe is a twisted psychological thriller that will keep you on your toes, and have you guessing up until the final page. A delicious sense of unease settles in from the very start, and permeates each increasingly tense chapter.

Charlotte seems to have it all. An attentive husband, a beautiful home, financial freedom, and a mother-in-law who seems to be an ally and confidante. Yet it very quickly becomes apparent that something is not quite right in this idyllic tableau. When Charlotte embarks on an affair with the dashing Ewan, she is ready to throw her comfortable life away for a chance at true love. But when things don't go according to plan, Charlotte begins to wonder just who, if anyone, she can really trust.

This is one that kept me up late into the night as I watched a life unravel, piece by agonizing piece.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, and One More Chapter for this ARC.

I guess I wasn’t sure what this book was about. I expected a thriller but not sure what I was reading really and skimmed through the majority of this mostly to see if there were any good parts but it just didn’t hook me.

An enjoyable read kept my interest right till the end. Great characters, good personalisation, good story line. recommended.

This is a difficult review to write as I always try to be non judgmental and appreciate the good parts. The premise was great but the delivery was rather tedious and repetitive. The middle of the book was padding and really needed strong editing. I will leave it at that.

This book is a stunning debut novel from Samantha Lee Howe, the book is based mainly on the life of Charlotte who on the surface has the perfect marriage, but then she embarks on an affair with Ewan her life starts to spiral out of control because Ewan disappears just as Charlotte is about to end her marriage to be with him.The story is full of wonderful twists and turns which had me reading well into the night as Charlotte learns more about the dark secrets in her husbands past and with an ending which left me thinking this really is an excellent book,if this is the standard of Samantha Lee Howe's writing then i for one can't wait for her next book.Congratulations on a stunning debut novel.5 stars all the way !!

This book didn't have the story I was expecting it to have. The cover, title, and tagline made me think it would be a domestic thriller about a woman who had an affair and was perhaps stalked by her lover...?
The book starts off okay with some interesting grey area characters but I wish it focused more on the affair rather than everything that comes after. It's very plot heavy, which is fine, but it means that the book hurtles along without stopping for breath. And there's a lot of information and plot details thrown at the reader.
I felt that various things happened quite suddenly and there was little or no build up to them, and very little aftermath. There are some good themes of unhappiness in a relationship, overbearing families, emotional abuse, but they sort of get lost in a very weird and long winded plot.
I thought I knew where it was going but then it changed course about 1/3 in...sometimes this sort of thing pays off but I found that the story I was expecting was more intriguing than the story i was given.

Overall this book was okay, I got a bit bored at around 70% so I just skimmed to the end.

Thank you for the arc copy of The Stranger in My Bed.
I enjoyed this book in the main and was eager to get to the end and find out what happened.
I did find the writing a little stilted and it didn't always seem to flow as you would have expected. I did have to go back and read a few sentences again as it had skipped so quickly onto another characters perspective I wasn't sure quite where I was in the story.
Overall it was a good solid read with an exciting ending

Charlotte is a great wife married to a very wealthy man, but she is bored, unhappy, and looking for more. In comes Ewan Daniels. He and Charlotte run into each a few times and begin an affair that is everything Charlotte is missing in her marriage to Ben. As they get more serious Charlotte makes plans to leave her husband and his overbearing mother. As she takes the final steps to leave and goes to meet Ewan he disappears. His phone is no longer in service, the apartment they used has someone else there and nothing makes sense. As she stands in the rain crying with nowhere to go her husband comes and rescues her and is willing to take her back. Charlotte tries to put Ewan out of her mind and make a fresh start with Ben but something just doesn’t add up. Is she being followed? Was Ewan just using her? And why is her husband acting strange?

This is a twisty psychological thriller. Some twists were more obvious than others but it was a fast page turner that was hard to put down. I highly recommend.

Thanks NetGalley for the copy.
