I really enjoyed reading this book, the characters were great and I really enjoyed going on this journey. Overall I liked the authors writing style and hope there is more in the series.

Good fantasy book. Very detailed. I think the plot was good however I did guess ma y of the events before I read them. Overall not the greatest book but definitely a note worthy title.

This is one of my favorite reading genres. I had not read any books by Diedra Drake prior to this one...she has now joined by to be followed authors list. The story line is slowly developed, bringing the characters to life and explaining how they arrived at this time so well that it is hard to believe this is the 1st book in the series. While it does remind me of some of my other favorite story lines, this is definitely a new cast of characters that will keep us entertained for quite awhile, I hope!

I was drawn to this Author and book by the synopsis - and was not disappointed .

The world building is very good with a totally unique new perspective to elves and vampires that merges fantasy, folklore, and classic mythology in a new entertaining way .
The characters are well developed , they draw you in - investing you with a desire to see how they grow and survive . The book is full of intrigue , mystery , suspense and romance all rolled into one allowing the drama and politics to unfold .
I would recommend this book and the future series to anyone who wants to read fantasy with a twist !
I will be interested to see if the rest of the series continues to grow and build as the Elves learn more about themselves and their gifts in future books in this entertaining series .

I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

2.5 stars. An interesting idea with a new take on the supernatural, the problem was it fell too easily into tropes. I would read the next book in the series.

While I greatly enjoyed the world building of Drake, I felt the story started off slowly. The characters started off feeling a bit flat but the world and mythology of Cursed by Furies was intriguing enough to keep reading. I was glad I gave it that continued chance as it flourished greatly. Drake's world gives a new perspective to elves and vampires that merges fantasy, folklore, and classic mythology in a new and unique way. It is a refreshing change to traditional elven or vampiric stories and I greatly enjoyed how the story grew. The characters are charming and empathetic once you see them start to develop.

Cursed by Furies has intrigue, mystery, romance, and suspense all in one. There are deep conversations that allow the reader into the mind of the characters but still leave a bit of mystery as the drama and politics unfold. While there are some obvious flaws in many of the characters, Drake has given them a chance to grow or embrace those flaws as strengths. It will be interesting to see if the rest of the series continues to grow and build as the Elves learn more about themselves and their gifts.

Elves, vampires, vikings, Greek gods and steamy sex scenes. Cursed by Furies is an excellent first book to what I'm sure will be a great adult fantasy series. Strong characters and a fast paced story combined with Diedra Drake's writing style make this a five star read for me.
