I've been studying the book of Jude with women from my church. I used this book as a commentary for that study. There is so much information here, though, that I'm going to go back and study the book some more on my own. I really appreciate Lianna's diligence is digging into Jude and helping me dig in as well!

This was a study on Jude which is very unique - I've never done a deep dive into the book before. I enjoyed the reference to other Scripture passages and the reflection and study questions daily. I did feel that the author focused on particular themes - like judgment - too much at the expense of really un packing some of the complex language in Jude, eg Enoch, Balaam and the angels. She did discuss it but I would have enjoyed more viewpoints and study on the tricky parts!

I received an ARC from Moody Publishers via NetGalley this review expresses my personal opinion

I must say that I never thought that the book of Jude (being only one chapter), we could have a six-week study. Wow!. On each week we have a specific theme, step by step we go not only by the guidance of Lianna Davis, learning more of the profound truth we found on this epistle and what amazed me the most it is how what Jude say it is the sad reality in our global church and is important to us to dig deeper on the warnings for us as Christians. This bible study could be a great opportunity for small groups.

Faith births the boldness to say, I trust God is greater than this temptation, though I do not see or sense it at this moment. Hope follows, saying, "One day, I will hate this sin as fully as I should. One day this temptation, this sin, will mean nothing to me."

Jude is a small book in the New Testament written to stand firm in the faith and what that looks like for those that follow God and have put their trust in Christ. The study was written to slowly go thru the book of Jude and to have resolve to follow thru. Resolve has been my new word this year so that word resonated with me in this study. Their is a resolve to have faith because you are fighting against spiritual warfare and many times yourself in your walk with faith. The study will help you think through your faith, not as pie in sky but how you apply in your every day life. That is resolve.

Each chapter starts with keeping and ends with Christ keeping us. It is bold and refreshing to see faith in light of scripture. So with the spirit of contending, dig into the scriptures and let it change you. Highly recommend.

A Special Thank you to Moody Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

If you're into devotional studies then this is the book for you! Jude is a book that I have never studied in the Bible, but this study helped me truly gain a lot of information from it! This is set up in a devotional style which makes it easy to do and doesn't consume too much time for those beginners at studying the Word. This is steeped in scripture so your Bible will be in full play with this study. There are personal questions to help you examine your own life.

Is this the Bible study to use for a full comprehension? Of course not, but it still does a good job of getting you into Jude and helps you begin to study it for yourself. If you're a beginner this is great as a starter. If you're more advanced in your studies than this might not suit your taste or needs.

As one who enjoys diving deep into the Word, I believe this a great way to blend devotional reading with a small study for the morning.

This is a good six week study on a small but often puzzling book in the Bible. Jude contains some unusual references to events and Davis addresses them in a good way, presenting the possible interpretations. She also does a good job of highlighting the issue of false teachers, a topic as important to us today as it was in Jude's day. My two most appreciated discussions in the book were on inner transformation and the relationship of faith and reason.

I like the study format. There are five daily readings for the weekly study. Extra Scripture to read and thoughtful questions are included. This would be a good study for group or individual use. The six week length makes it a good choice for a summer session.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

Keeping The Faith by Lianna Davis is a wonderful study on the book of Jude. Each day you are given a verse or passage of scripture to read. She uses cross references to other verses in the Bible that were related. I loved her suggested prayers and how she provided commentary for each verse. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to study deeper in the book of Jude.

First, let me say that any book on Jude is difficult. Jude is not detailed on any topic. He makes statements without much commentary or explanation. Sometimes, we are left to guess if we are to make more of the references he makes (e.g. Cain, Enoch). However, Jude’s message is clear, and his message to the Church is authoritative. It’s going to take a good book to unpack that message to our generation.

This is not that book. Although, in fairness, it tries to be, and more. Is this book a daily devotional? A commentary? A Bible study with discussion questions? It’s all of the above. Therein lies the problem. It tries to do too much in just a few short pages. Granted, there are good insights in this book. It is not just focused on the theological message but also on the practical implications for our generation. However, the content is very shortened, much like the book of Jude. I wished several times that the author would spend more time on the message and implications. It would have led to a more inspiring book, if not in Theology, then at least in Christian Living.

The same can be said of its daily devotional aspect. There’s not enough of it to really be a devotional. That said, this book is most appropriately a small group discussion material. The content is not too long, and the chapters quite concise to be used on a weekly basis. However, it’s quite lacking for a personal reading. I would highly recommend this book as a small group study, and since there’s not much good small group material on the book of Jude, I’d even say that this one’s the best.

However, if you want to really study and learn the book of Jude, pick up a theological commentary instead.

I truly enjoyed this study and the dive into Jude. Its not a book I feel is often examined yet the study/devotional brought out a lot of important parts of the scripture. Would Definitely recommend.

"Keeping the Faith" is a 6 week long Bible study on Jude. Each week had an introduction and 5 days of study. Each day would start with a verse or two from Jude and a cross reference verse from another book of the Bible that related to the same topic. The verses in Jude were not always studied in order but were topically grouped. The author then gave a prayer and provided some commentary on the verses, including useful insights and word studies to help the reader better understand the verses. Next, she included study prompts that further tied in other verses from the Bible. She concluded each day with reflection questions about what was learned and how that affects your life. I felt that the author did a very good job of explaining the verses and tying them into the rest of the New Testament. Overall, I'd highly recommend this Bible study.
