This book was good, fast paced and kept me interested. I liked the story having multiple point of views. The only thing I didn’t like was the way the characters reacted to different types of scenarios going on. They were unrealistic and that would get me frustrated. Overall, it was a good book and the plot twist at the end shocked me!

The use of telling the story from the perspectives of the difference characters is a great way to keep the reader involved in the story as well as help create some twists and turns that the reader might not see coming. There was lots of suspense and action that kept me engrossed. I will be looking for another book to read by Ms. Grant.

This is a good physiological thriller. It took me a little while to get into it but after a few chapters I was hooked. The book is written in such a way to. throw the reader off track every time you think you have it figured out. I am surprised by the ending and I am not sure I find that part believable. All in all it a a good read and I definitely e it.

14 year old Brittany disappeared during the night, her parents believe she has been abducted….they’re only thoughts are for her safety, is she being hurt and why was she taken?

Taylor, their neighbour, is their lifeline….in her element, doing everything to help with search parties to find missing Brittany. The neighbourhood all rally round on the hunt for her, but there are secrets from the past that rear their head……is there a link to current events?

I found this to be an engrossing and chilling read, with well developed characters and a marvellously tense and twisty plot to keep you guessing. I can recommend this for anyone who loves a psychological thriller.

Thank you to The publishers, the author and NetGalley for a free copy of the ebook. This is my honest, unbiased review.

I don’t even know where to start! This book has left me speechless. I love all of the mystery and drama The Good Neighbor provided.

Personally, I love books that hop through different perspectives, it always keeps me guessing. The Good Neighbor really reminded me of Big Little Liesin a way… I found myself constantly second guessing characters, second guessing everyone’s motives, and not trusting ANYONE.

This was a fantastic mystery thriller. I am quite new to this specific genera, but this was one hell of an introduction.

If we completely disregard the fact that no one would ever act the way a single one of these characters did (which I'm surprisingly willing to do), then this was a super-fun, twisty good read.

This was a very interesting premise, and I will say I was very invested in finding out what had happened and what was going on.

The plot for this book is based around the disappearance of a 14 year old girl called Brittany, supposedly taken from her bed in the middle of the night. Her parents, Moira and Alan, are very quiet and closed off to the rest of the cul-de-sac community where they had recently moved to. We follow several people's point of view, including Brittany before she disappeared, so we can gradually get a sense of what was going on before. We also follow Taylor, a very nosy and community driven neighbour, who gets into other people's business on the street, but in a very well-meaning way. She involves herself in the case and things go on from there.

I didn't really connect with any of the characters, but they weren't there to be likeable. They were complicated and human, and very well written. I did like this story, I was kept up late into the night finishing it, but I did feel that the ending let down the story in a way as it felt rushed and a little out of nowhere - as if the author wasn't quite sure how to end it. But it was a solid read, and I do highly recommend it, if thrillers are your cup of tea.

Trigger warnings for drug use, addiction to pain medication, and kidnapping cases.

A great, can't put it down suspense mystery novel. Read it in one day! A great plot that begins with a girl gone missing, but things are not at all what they seem, with great twist, turns, and psychologically thrilling undertones. It is rare to be surprised at how a story twists and turns, but this is one that is not what it seems at first. I highly recommend for a great take on a plot that isn't predictable.

Very unusual plot, kept me riveted and up until three a.m. Loved the storyline, characters, and ten star writing style. Highly recommend

Wow! Just Wow!

I am speechless when I finally finished this book. I had to take a full day of complete sleep and distractions from any form of reading before I can finally make this review. I want to completely understand what just happened and confirm with myself how I feel about this book with a clear mind.

In the beginning, I was a bit bored with how the story started and its style of telling the story by using each character's perspective. I had to skip a few narratives about character development or past events because I'm in a hurry to find out what is happening.

I have read and enjoyed a lot of Detective and crime mystery but this is definitely on a different level. You know how it is, we like to guess what is happening and who is the culprit of the crime,...if there was a crime. But with how the book was intelligently written, I can't quite guess what's going to happen next. Until of course I reach the last 2 or 3 chapters.

It started very slow for me that I had to read the first 10 chapters for 2 days, but after the book kept me on its hook until I realized it's already the wee hours and I can't put it down. In the end, I was gasping in disbelief and I had to ask myself if I would've done differently if I was in Taylor's shoes. I guess I won't know the answer until I'm in the same scenario.

Overall, I really liked this book and after pondering for a day, I can't think of any other way to end the book than what is already written. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. It will be in one of those mystery crime suspense books that I really enjoyed but also forgettable after a while, which is not the books fault but mine. As I really like mystery novels but I also enjoy a bit of action and scares which this book lacks, but it doesn't make it bad.

I got a free Kindle copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I seem to be drawn to these stories about neighbors and neighborhood drama. But I'm rarely disappointed and this book is no exception! Brittany, the 14 year old daughter of the newest neighbors in the community, has disappeared. Her parents immediately go crazy with worry, everyone gathers together to help search and the police begin investigating all of the neighbors. No one actually knows Brittany's parents well, as they keep to themselves, but who wouldn't band together to help one of their own? Their neighbor, Taylor, is especially helpful, almost too helpful, offering food, support, starting a Facebook page to help locate Brittany. She's very determined to help in any way possible. She and her husband don't have kids of their own, but she's just trying to create a sense of community to help cope with the fear and unease that sets in within their cul-de-sac. No harm in that, right?

The story is well written, although not too surprising. We see the action from multiple viewpoints, including Brittany's before she disappeared. There's more of a slow understanding of what occurs more than one particular AHA! moment. I think it works well, and I enjoyed seeing how different people interpret the same situation. i do think that there should have been less introspection and more explanation for how certain characters became the way they are. Like, way back to their own childhoods. Sure, you can accept that some people are just born the way they are, but usually there's specific reasons why people make the decisions that they do. If I sound vague, it's because I don't want to give anything away, but if you read this book, you'll understand. So please read it and find out because you won't be disappointed!

Very much a page-turner. I plowed through the book. Not even going to try to explain the reasons . The end was just amazing.

Thanks, NetGalley for the advance copy to review.

I liked this book- the premise of the story is that new neighbors move into a close-knit neighborhood in the SF Bay area and their daughter, Brittany, disappears. No one really knows the the new neighbors, but they band together to try to help find their missing daughter. Though the book moves between narrators from chapter to chapter, it primarily focuses on next-door neighbor, Taylor, who becomes deeply embedded in the search for Brittany.

I finished this book in less than a day- it was a quick read and there were some mystery factors that kept me guessing throughout the story; I wanted to find out how it all fit together. Some of the things that happened were pretty unrealistic in my opinion, especially the way Taylor acted in a lot of situations throughout the book. I found it hard to believe that anyone could be that naive or unaware of the way they were being perceived by other people. Other than that, the plotline itself was good and there were a few different things going on that all tied together nicely. There were a few (though not many!) characters with whom I could empathize, and even though some of the other characters weren't super likable, it still made for an interesting read. I would recommend the book to others.

When a teenager goes missing in the night her parents are quick to blame a mysterious kidnapper but is everything as it seems?

The Good Neighbour is a strong thriller that kept me on my toes throughout! I could understand reasoning for some characters decisions but I had to know how everything was linked! I wasn’t disappointed and really enjoyed this story! A good 4/5.
