I really liked this book. It is intense, interesting and funny at the same time. The story is great and I liked the romantic touch in it. It is a perfect combination of all of the above.

It’s my first book read by the author and apparently I need to read the first one as well as it carries on from where probably the first book finished.
It’s a good story, full of suspense and some turns that I didn’t see it coming, mixed with a bit of romance. Enjoyable read overall.

The second book picks up with Amber after her escape and wanting to hack and find out who is setting them all up. Meanwhile, the man responsible has put a hit out and one of the men taking the assignment is Jesse Cordova who when he spots Amber remembers her from years ago from a training exercise. He was attracted to her then and still is. Instead of killing her he changes his mind and tries to help her but it takes some time for her to understand what he is trying to do. She is used to working alone, and the training exercise from the past did not end as she planned. Now she has mixed emotions because she was programed not to have emotions, but finding her sister and also another Valkyrie is stirring up something inside of her and she does not know what it is. A good story with lots of action and some romance.

The second in the series, and the first one I read. Struggled a bit to read this one. Amber goes into enemy territory trying to find someone she thought was innocent. Jesse is a hitman, who is hired to kill her, but ends up falling for her instead. I liked the story enough to finish it, but did tend to skim a bit after awhile. Not sure why, but overall did not really grab me. Would still recommend if you like fast paced action and evil Russians.

Amber is on the hunt once more for the Valkyries who turned against their own, making her possibly complicit in taking out innocent Valkyries! She left her sister safely in England with her new love and her trusty friend. She wants answers and thinks she needs to be on her own to get them. Well her sister thinks otherwise and she sets Jesse Cordova on her tail.

For the first time ever Jesse is being asked to keep someone safe. An odd job for a formerly Government trained assassin. But when he was given the original job to take out Amber something didn't sit right with him. When he was offered a counter propposition tokeep her safe, he leapt at it. But hacker girl has game like he can not believe. She gives him a run for his money. His heart might not be that far behind!

Amber adn Jesse could have been too much together. Both big personalities, smart and dangerous. But thankfully they have vulnerabilities which enables you to see them as humans rather than just super-secret-agents who can kill without conscience. They managed to blend fun and sass into the action and adventure.

I would love to be part of the Valkyrie family! I am waiting with bated breath to see what happens to a former SAS soldier, now landed gentry gentleman (with a rocking Yorkshire accent) and a newly rescued Valkyrie!

This book continues the stories of the infamous Valkyries. Amber is a Valkyrie hacker. She was betrayed and set up and barely escaped. While trying to correct what she believes to be a mistake, she encounters a mysterious protector. Oddly enough, he was both sent to kill her and protect her. Jesse is a took the hit because he suspected something was wrong. He was right, and now he is tasked with helping her discover who is after her and why. Several favorite characters from previous books are featured, and new ones join the team trying to seek out and save the remaining Valkyries.

Jesse was my favorite part of this book. He was so confident and sexy. He knew what he wanted immediately and set out to get it. No way was he letting Amber get away. Jesse and Amber had an instant connection due to their similar careers, and they just seemed to understand each other. When they set off sparks, it was sizzling. Also, there was one scene with Megan and Tyler that just blew me away. Amazing! This was a great addition to the Valkyrie series.

Can Jesse convince Amber that he is on her side and not just out for the money? Read the book if you love edge of the seat romance with danger involved!

Covert Vengeance is Book 2 in the Vengeance series and picks right up where we left off. It is full of action/suspense and romance. I am really enjoying the series and enjoyed this book!

Continuing the series, it only gets better and better as Kaylea Cross gives each Valkryie an amazing story of redemption and love, and a chance for a future.

Covert Vengeance brings Amber Brown, a brilliant hacker and elite gun for hire Jesse Cordova, giving us an action packed read of betrayal and pain, loss and gain, family and friends, and a team of amazing people supporting each other with unconditional love and support.

A great continuation of the Vengeance series!

Excellent book! The action and romance are very well written and developed. I like the Valkaries, they were strong and it was nice getting away from a typical character. I do recommend reading the previous book first as some of the references would be confusing otherwise.

I was so looking forward to Amber's story when she first showed up in Megan's life after they both were told the other had died. And add Jesse to the mix and you have a hot, hot romantic suspense as they go to rescue another Valkyrie.

There are some twists in the story and you find out whether Hannah was innocent or guilty in Amber's being set up to take the fall for the rest of the group's robbery. Amber is constantly on the run as Zoya's lover has her in his sights to make her pay for his love's death.

We continue to see Megan and Ty, Georgia and Bautisa, and Adam and Trinity from previous books. I love how they work together and only want to save the missing Valkyrie women.

Looking forward to the next book in this series!!

Fast paced and fun read, great second book to the series, lots of drama and angst, wonderful characters and good writing.

I am really getting invested in this series. The characters continue from book to book allowing the reader to really get to know them and feel their story. Amber intrigued me in book one and I loved her personal journey. Jesse is one of my favorite male characters I have read. The women in these books are strong, but the men have the strength to support them. As the team continues to search for their own, we get a lot of action, suspense, and plotlines that feel like there is something bigger at play that is being revealed at the perfect pace. The romance is steamy and sweet. This is what romantic suspense looks like. Highly recommend!

Intriguing

Good suspense, interesting characters and lots of drama but not my favorite Ms. Cross book. Didn’t flow was smoothly as the Fast or HRT series..

It's a fantastic story. I really enjoyed reading it . This is Amber Brown Valkyrie hacker's story . She was left for dead by her teammates while on an OP . She vowed to make them pay . She's on a rescue of another Valkyrie who maybe innocent . While she's in the middle of things Jesse Cordova shows up to assist her . He tells her her sister sent him . Jesse is a for hire Hitman . There's a contract on Amber but he decides to help her instead . Amber doesn't trust easily .
They are soon on the run and what a rollercoaster ride of suspense , intrigue and romance . Amber and Jesse soon must work together to face the danger and take down the bad guys . This story is full of pulse pounding action , fantastic characters . It's intense and interesting all out fabulous . I could not put this story down . It is one of my new favorites . I'm looking forward to reading more in this series . I highly recommend taking the time to read this story and enjoy .

Covert Vengeance is the second instalment in Kaylea Cross` brand Vengeance series, I’m still undecided as to whether this will be a regular series I read. As with book one, the story has a multitude of suspense, drama and angst, but the female character portrayals resemble women with trust and commitment issues rather than strong, independent and self-assured warriors. I’m not prepared to write the series off just yet, and while this is strictly my personal opinion, I’m sure that the concept will appeal to many readers.

Book 2 in the series is action packed with characters who struggle with the knowledge they have and what they have do with it.
The story moves swiftly though the book with the perfect flow of action, romance, suspense and family who wanted to save each other.

Kaylea Cross has done it again! The second installment of the series, in my opinion, is better than the first. For that reason I am very excited for what is to come. Though he is the Male counterpart, Jesse wasn't a shared main character to Amber he was my favorite. I loved how he understood what Amber needed from him and completed Amber's strength. I can't wait for Chloe's so called crazy in "Explosive Vengeance".
