Finding the answers and solving a mystery will bring them closer together. This is only the beginning and I’m interested to see what unfolds in the rest of the series.

I don’t think this was the right book for me. I thought the synopsis sounded really intriguing, but I found the characters to be too intense (the hero was too alpha for my tastes). DNF at 15%

DNF at 45%. I think the hero just came on way to strong for me and was really possessive. I loved diversity and the heroines friends. Otherwise didn't really work for me.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. Wow what can I say about this title it was just an awesome read. This book was just something so wonderfully different I’ve never quite read anything like this. You should read to find out you won’t be disappointed. I’m definitely going to read more by this author.

M/F Romance and Mystery

Quinn comes from a large Irish family and he takes his responsibilities serious. His lists throughout the story endear him to you and that accent is just delicious. I really enjoyed watching Quinn pursue Alicia. He was determined and left nothing to chance. But when his sister is seriously injured too, he'll have to decide if he can change his ways just a little to make sure that everyone around him is safe.

Alicia has had a rough year. However, I absolutely love her character. She's strong and determined and didn't let her past wilt her spirit. She is quite hilarious on the job and I really enjoyed her close friends.

Quinn and Alicia have an attraction that extends beyond the physical. They see each other and just get each other. It's a connection that you can feel on the pages. I really enjoyed watching Alicia and Quinn figure out their relationship. It was real and down to earth for a mystery romance.

I cannot wait for the next book in the series and really hope we get to see these brothers in action.

Quinn is a man set in his ways. The main thing that keeps him sane is his list-making and sticking to them. Coming from a large Irish family, he knows what it means to protect his family. When he takes his niece for a driving lesson, the instructor has Quinn all tongue-tied and he wants to get to know her. But when she puts him in his place, this just makes Quinn more interested in knowing her.

Alicia is having a bad day but when she shows up late for her driving lesson with Mckenna, she didn't expect the gorgeous man to step out of the car. Quinn has her flustered for a minute until she catches herself and puts him in his place. She thinks she will never see him again, but he keeps coming back in her dreams.

Can Quinn win Alicia over? Will Quinn, with all his protectiveness, be too much for Alicia? Can Quinn keep her and his family safe? Who is after Alicia and who hurt his sister?

This is a first for me from this author and I liked it and can't wait to see what happens with the next brother. If you like good romantic suspense, then this one is for you.

This is the first in a new series and I will definitely be looking out for future installments, as the Blackhart Brothers are most definitely worth reading about! The world building is done very effectively, and we get fully immersed in all things family and business.

Alicia has not had the happiest of times, and has decided that other than her two very best friends and roommates (who are fun) she will not be trusting anyone for a good long while. So when she meets Quinn and immediately feels a strong attraction, she is annoyed with herself and reluctant to accept any of the advances he makes. But Quinn has set his heart on winning her over and it is great fun watching the two of them dance around each other.

Quinn is a list maker and the family organiser. He and his brothers are deep in an investigation following the shooting of their sister and brother-in-law. Having Alicia on his mind is distracting, and even becomes part of the mystery. I really liked that he made time for her, but also did answer his phone and did sort out work issues, so that Alicia recognised that he was a serious man. I enjoyed when she surprised him, and that he was more entranced rather than judgmental as she expected.

The only thing which I did not enjoy, and it is absolutely a personal issue, is that I do not enjoy having to read thick dialected speech. I completely understand that the Irish brogue was totally in keeping, but it slowed down my reading, as I had to slowly work it out, and that drew me out of the story a bit. As I say, nothing to do with the story itself, but just a personal preference.

Looking forward to finding out what the deal is with Kevin... and following the underlying investigation.

I see that many people enjoyed this story but unfortunately this was not my cup of tea and I struggled with both the story line and the strong voice and accent.
The author is new to me and I was hoping to add some new authors to my list of favorites that is shrinking since some of the long term authors I have enjoyed are not as prolific or have stopped writing.

This is my first book by Blue Saffire and am looking forward to more in this series.
Wow. This book was full of action, sexy Irish accents and steam. Really really steamy.
It took me a bit to like Quinn. He's was a little too pushy with Alicia for my liking. It also took me a while to like Alicia as well as I prefer my heroines to be strong willed right from the get go. She got there and I liked her once she showed that side of herself.
The suspense was great but dang it....there's a cliffhanger! UGH.
I adored Quinn's relationships with his brothers and want to learn more about them all.

I enjoyed this story, not just for the romance, but also the family camaraderie. I would love to belong to the Blackhart family. They poke fun at each other and get a little crazy, but when things get tough, they jump in to have each other’s backs. Quinn was definitely swoon-worthy and rather romantic. I wish his style of protection didn’t include constantly keeping Alicia in the dark. To me it effected the flow of the story. I didn’t warm up to Alicia right from the start, she was too deep into her past for me to relate to. But I understood her more as information was doled out and her personality began to come through. I’m glad, because then I was more invested in them both and cheered as they moved into a very sexy love-story. I also need to mention that the mysterious background story had me happily guessing until the end. I do wish more information was shared with the reader throughout the story because someone would get a call, faces were grim, then they rushed off to god knows where. Plopping the reader into the next scene to wait for the information to be shared. That is why I rated it a 4 and not a 5. Overall I loved the book and can’t wait for the next one.

Calling on Quinn is the first book in the Blackhart series. In book 1 Quinn, who is the eldest Blackhart, first priority is keeping his family safe. So when tragedy strikes he will do anything to make sure that no one he cares about will ever be hurt again. Now that he's met Alicia Rhodes and he can't get her off of his mind, she's included in the group of those he loves and anyone who's her enemy has now become his .
Alicia Rhodes has had a hard couple of years and is just starting to feel like her normal self again. When she meets Quinn Blackhart she's not sure if she can handle all of what he's offering. Lucky for her Quinn knows that she can, and he won't give up until she know it too. Nothing worth having is ever easy, and Quinn and Alicia will find that out but hopefully the both of them will also realize that what they have is worth fighting for.
Calling for Quinn is thrilling ride of mystery and danger, but also has some passionate love scenes which made for a engaging read. The hero and heroine are both fighting their own battles and even though Alicia's sometimes self doubt could be a little annoying, I enjoyed getting to know the both of them along with the colorful and entertaining supporting characters. After meeting the other Blackhart men in book 1, I can only hope that book 2 comes along sooner rather than later because I can see this family getting into all kinds of sometimes serious but in the end fun loving trouble and I would like to be along for the ride.

Quinn is a private investigator who is like a dog with a bone when it comes to pursuing Alicia. I'm serious, the moment they met he knew he wanted her and didn't beat around the bush. I love that the Blackhart family is Irish because it makes everything he says just so much more swoon worthy. I could just imagine his accent while I was reading. The Blackharts have that closeness and family loyalty that is typical of many Irish families. Quinn is the oldest and you could tell just how much he loved his family in every interaction with them. We do meet his brothers who will get books in the future.

As for Alicia, she has suffered a rough year but is strong with wonderful friends at her back. There were times that I wasn't sure if I liked Alicia, but it could be that she reminded me some of my sister. That colored how I felt about her and her past more than I thought it would. In fact, I wasn't going to give the book five stars the first time I sat down to write this review. Then I went back and read the book again not allowing myself to see anyone but Alicia. Having done that made me enjoy the book for the amazing story that it was.

Calling on Quinn is a sweet and sexy romantic suspense novel. This is a terrific tale of a sexy ginger haired private investigator with an Irish brogue and a bit of OCD and a smart, tough pixie of a driving instructor. This is a fast paced, high energy story that will keep you flipping pages and wanting more.

If you're looking for the luck of the Irish, look no further! Quinn is just book one of a clan of alpha Irishmen who will be sure to sweep readers into their world. This book is packed with distinct characters, and a mystery that potentially will span over multiple books if not the whole series. If book one is any indication of what's to come then we are in for a wild ride!

It actually took me a little bit to get into the book at first due to it being from the H/h's POV and the dialogue. I feel like it would be nice to have a glossary for the Irish language used as I didn't always understand what was being said. That said, I loved that the characters seemed to remain true throughout the whole book. The author did a great job of making distinct characters that the reader can really get a feel for. I really liked the main story line of finding out who tried to murder Quinn's sister and brother-in-law, the second story line I felt was a rushed in the end to wrap things up and didn't mesh well. This was the only time I felt like one of the characters did stray from who I thought they were.

Overall, I would recommend this series and I'm excited to see what comes next for our dear Blackhearts!

I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel via Netgalley and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.

Calling on Quinn is the first book in the Blackheart Brothers series. This book features Quinn Blackheart and Alicia Rhodes. Quinn is a private investigator. His's sister wound up injured so he's taking rounds with the rest of his family taking care of her kids. Alicia Rhodes is Quinn's niece's driving instructor.

Both Quinn and Alicia are struggling with different things in their life. Alicia's parents are dead and she relies on her two best friends. She had a bad relationship before meeting Quinn and that is a part of why she's having trouble being with him. Quinn has a big family and is smitten with Alicia right away.

I love the banter between the two characters. Both characters are able to grow through the book and deal with their problems, as well as help each other with the others problems. I enjoyed the book, but felt like they repeated things a lot.

I can't wait for the next brother's book.

Calling on Quinn is the first book in Blue Saffire’s Blackheart Brothers series, and also my first read by this author. I was drawn in by the story synopsis with its promise of suspense and family ties too. On this note, I got what I expected, but I was not totally in love with the cast of characters. While I fully understood the difficulties of Alicia’s past and her history of abuse, I began to sympathise as the story went on, as this woman needed to grow up and move forward, if she truly wanted to change her life. I honestly didn’t understand why Quinn even wasted his time on her. That aside, the story concept was good, and the series has a lot of potential. I’ll wait to see if I continue after I’ve read book two.

so I get this book because was intrigued with the blurb, and I kept thinking I have to get to it and I see all of these 5 star reviews in goodreads so here I am excited and then I start, and kept saying is this the same book that got all of those stars? So I go back to goodreads and yup all those stars are there, and I go to the front of the book and yup I am reading the right book, let me read some more it has to get better right? Well I wont give it a 2 star I dont think its as bad for a 2 star but it definitely will not get a more than 3. I found it ridiculous, Alicia annoyed the hell out of me, I mean I get you got out of an abusive relationship and yes he may not have beat you but he did put you down, and yes your bestie the person you knew the longest betrayed you. But as I continued to read she didn't break up with her fiance recently it was a year ago, so when she kept letting that hold her back, I was questioning it right along with her friend Tari and Aiden, we didn't get it, I also didn't get why Quinn even bothered with her. And, it wasn't like she didn't have clues to her bestie, apparently before her mom died she warned her, and Tari and Aiden who also grew up with them didn't like her, so why was she blindsided?..So the book ends in a cliffhanger, and yes I got to the end of the book, I mean have you ever read a book that you kept saying it'll get better but it doesn't, yeah that was me with this book, so do I care what the heck happens with the rest of the story and Blackheart? Hell to the no, I am getting off of this ride.

Loved this book. Excellent writing with characters that you can relate to. The story flowed and the family dynamics were a hoot. Can't wait to read more by this author.

Adoration of an Alpha Male:
First in the series, this book introduces a rowdy, yet close and loving Irish American family. Quinn is the oldest of the siblings and makes it his job to find solutions and protect those whom he loves. He soon sets his sights on Alicia and pursues her with dogged determination. However Alicia has been hurt in the past and she has difficulty trusting and opening herself up to love again. The plot was well paced and liked the anticipation and slow burn. Things soon heat up though and turn scorching hot.
There was also an element of suspense and intrigue which kept me interested and guessing. However the novel focused more on the relationship aspect and facts regarding the investigation were just inserted every now and then rather than drawing a clear and systematic trail for the reader to follow. Whilst it could be read as a standalone, the investigation into the attack is not resolved and looks to be something that will be followed up on throughout the series. I can't wait now to read the next books to see what happens and also to learn more about these sexy Irish lads and the ladies who capture their hearts.
Despite all the positives, one thing that I didn't like and thought was rude and disrespectful was the way one of Alicia's best friends called her 'heifer'.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

The first book in the Blackhart Brothers series, follow the first son Quinn Blackhart as he and his brothers are trying to figure out who shot-down his sister Erin and her husband Cal. Quinn is the oldest of the five Blackhart siblings and likes his life structured, but in walks Alicia Rhodes, his niece McKenna's driving instructor.
I don't think Quinn was ready for her and he will have his hands full trying to lock her down for a more permanent position in his life. This relationship isn't without its ups and downs and there more ups than downs. The author has written this story in such a way all of the characters become not only endearing but a part of you (my opinion). As much as Quinn becomes my hero, Alicia is my shero. She is a bad...shut your mouth! As the brothers get deeper into the rabbit hole in attempting to find out who attempted to take out there family members another situation pops up and it's not one that Quinn or Alicia saw coming.
A well written story and I can't wait to see (read) what this author has in store for the rest of this series.
