In trying to branch outside of my normal fantasy/sci-fi interests, I tried The Second Chance Boutique (Wedding Dress Whisperer) and found a cute story that has an obvious love of fashion and dress history. Francesca Delaney has a unique wedding dress shop that caters to brides-to-be wanting something different. The brides have to trust Fran in choosing the right vintage dress for them, regardless of what the brides think they are looking for. Fran pairs the perfect dress to the perfect bride -- except for herself. Fran finds a one-of-a-kind wedding dress, along someone she hadn't ever expected to meet. I enjoyed reading this book since it was incredibly different from what I normally read and I'd be more than happy to read any other books by Louisa Leaman. It's an easy, quick read that makes me think slightly deeper about fashion.

Francesca Delaney is famous for finding the perfect dress for each and every bride that visits her wedding dress shop. She knows the history of each and every gown in the shop and she abides by only two rules, She can never fall in love with any of the dresses herself, and she will never sell a dress that was worn by a woman whose marriage ended unhappily. So far she’s been able to follow both rules, easily, but when she falls in love with a 1950’s gown she becomes determined to uncover the history of the dress. In doing so, Francesca gets involved with the gown’s original owner’s son, a man who is determined that that truth never see the light of day. Delightfully mysterious and romantic
