A beautiful graphic novel that was really enhanced by its strong narrative. I could not think of a single improvement while I was reading it.
Honestly speaking I couldn’t enjoy this book. The illustrations were all over each other it seems and a little too congested. This made the reading a bit difficult to follow. It ended well and I am happy about that at least. But I seriously tried my best to like the story and connect with the characters but somehow I couldn’t. Thanks #NetGalley for the book #Stripedpyjamas
A boy wakes up to find he has no idea who he is, and no one knows him. He is called Striped Pajamas, because that is what he wears.
Meanwhile, there are mole people, and people kidnapping girls to force them to be brides, and some strange show that claims that this is all the active imagination of a man in a hospital, who is dreaming this all up.
Truth be told, I had no idea what this story was even about, in the end.
All parts of crazy, with weird drawings, and a blue boy in striped pajamas running around.
Perhaps it lost something in the translation from Turkish. I'm not sure.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
Not like anything I've read before! Not sure I always understood what was going on, but I'm sure would be enjoyed by the right audience. Lovely colours for the illustrations, making it pleasant to read.
Cartoonish and colorful images work well in this book. A very polished and inviting graphic novel reading experience.
Definitely not the artwork I usually go for; the illustrations are terribly childish, although the plot had a lot of potential.
