Fun with a capital F. This romantic comedy did not disappoint. I knew from the start that this read would be light, entertaining, and have a strong connection to family. I can appreciate and understand the desire to get one's career on solid ground then locate that special someone. Veronica Welch, is a talented and driven attorney on the cusp of making partner at her law firm. Rachel Monaghan, is a talented photographer that has been pierced in the heart by love and commitment. The idea of 30 dates in 30 days was fun especially with the drink names for each date. The interaction/dialogue was spot on between Rachel and Veronica. I also valued the self talk as the two women questioned the potential relationship. Well written push and pull. The secondary characters (family, friends, and the three in the bar) were an awesome addition to the story. To some extent, they served as a conscious for Veronica and Rachel.

This book was right up there with the best of the best. I mean come on who doesn’t want to date 30 different women in 30 days would anyone have the time for such a thing.

Veronica Welch is a hard working lawyer that is on the verge of becoming partner at her NYC firm she hasn’t had time for love in any form but her assistant Bea decides to put her profile on a dating app to find Mrs Right. As the dates start to happen we get to see Spencer’s work shine as she takes us on a lesson on how not to find love in all the right places.

Rachael is a world renowned wedding photographer that helps out in her cousins bar durning her down time. She seems to be everything one wants in a female bartender.
She is sexy, hot as all get out and doesn’t believe in love.

Put Veronica and Rachel together and you get a love to hate them, push and pull hot to cold frustrating story that pulls every emotion out of you from the start. It was slow burn romance with great chemistry between the two MC. The secondary characters were very likable and help take the story where it needed to go. Spencer did a brilliant crossover chapter with The Road to Madison MC’s as Rachel photographs the wedding between Anna and Madison I love that we got to see that. And for me it made this book much more enjoyable as we took a walk backwards to that story

The pace was right on spot and the chemistry was out of this world.

I liked this book more than I expected. I was a bit skeptical of the concept when starting it. The characters, however, are very likable. Both the main, and supporting characters all have great personalities and make up the biggest pull for this story. The minor characters that Veronica goes on her blind dates with are even all unique and kept the story interesting.

I had one major issue with the story. The tension and build up between the two main characters were delightful, but I feel like the story lost it's forward momentum after they admit feelings and get together. The sex scene felt lackluster compared to the tension that they showed throughout. The end of the book also felt really abrupt, almost like it cuts off and is missing even the last few pages.

I will admit that I was so looking forward to this book and dreading it as well. I loved Casting Lacey but The Road to Madison frustrated me beyond belief. Which side would 30 Dates in 30 Days fall on? Thankfully this one fell in the Love It category.

Veronica Welch is a woman with a plan – make partner and get a partner by the time she’s 35. Well on the way to her professional goal, she is sorely behind on her personal goal. Thankfully her assistant, Bea, and mother, have her covered and signed her up for an online dating app (Ryder) so that Veronica can efficiently skim though available lesbians and find Ms Right to check off that final box. Meeting each date in a local pub, she gives them under an hour for the “interview”. Obviously, there’s some rather amusing dates and the drink choices definitely set the stage for the personalities of her dates; but, Spencer blends in a few women who actually seem like they would be a good match.

Veronica isn’t necessarily an ice queen, but she’s brilliant, focused, practical and has a wonderfully dry sense of humour that makes this rather silly premise work quite well. As much as she protested Bea and her mother’s scheme, she secretly wants a relationship and love but has been so focused on her career, she doesn’t really know what she wants in a partner – just that she’ll know the it when she feels it. As she progresses through the dates, it’s more and more obvious that she’s really not sure what she’s looking for, but Rachel Monaghan, the cynical wedding photographer who avoids relationships, seems to have that mysterious “it” factor.

Helping out her cousin by manning the pub in the evenings, Rachel is quickly drawn into the unfolding parade of dates – and her attraction to Veronica is definitely at war with her reticence in entering another relationship. There’s a definite sizzle between the two women and Rachel’s reluctance sets up a great push and pull dynamic that amps up the chemistry. Both she and Veronica are likable and you can’t help but root along with the pub’s peanut gallery of regulars that they both get on with it.

On top of two really engaging main characters, Spencer has an interesting cast of secondary characters – friends, family, the regulars at the bar who watch Veronica’s dates like it’s a spectator sport. There’s a wonderful sense of connection with them all – no cardboard cut outs or stereotypes, each one feels real and endearing. If you’ve read her other books, Ana and Madison make a brief appearance – thankfully they have run out of angst (omigod did they have angst) and have settled nicely into their HEA, making them great secondary characters for this story.

30 Dates in 30 Days is a fun read – Spencer imbues the story with some great humour and witty banter that brings the characters to life and the romance works wonderfully. I really enjoyed this one – it hit all the right notes for me and left me with a bit of an aw shucks smile on my face when I finished.

I just loved this book,, the author always introduces main characters you immediately care about. Such a light hearted storyline with great supporting cast.

30 Dates in 30 Days is an absolute treat to read. Veronica Walsh is approaching 35, a point in her life where she expected to have made a partner in her law firm and to have been married. She inadvertently told her assistant about this during an evening of drinking and the quest is on to find her a wife. Her assistant lists her on a dating app and sets up what will be 30 dates in a 30 day period to find "Miss Right". All of the dates are set up at a local bar to make things easier for Veronica. It is here she meets Rachel, a beautiful woman who is helping her cousin with her bar but who has given up on love.

The chemistry between Veronica and Rachel is off the charts throughout the book. The author plays the slow burn throughout the entire book, so much so that as a reader I wanted one of the women to pounce on the other because the tension was so high. She does an excellent job of making the story funny at times and heartbreaking in others. It is such a good mix of emotions throughout the book. The story was one that I did not want to put down until the end.

While there is not a lot of sex in the book, it wasn't really necessary. I found the build-up of their relationship to be the major plus of this book and the need for hot sex scenes was not really needed (although I wouldn't be opposed to a secret chapter or two that goes into more detail). This book is all about finding true love, the one that you can't live without, of being able to get past old heartbreaks, and opening yourself up to the possibility of hurting again to be with that one special person. This book would make such a wonderful rom-com, which is how I envisioned the story as I read it.

This is a must-read for anyone who loves love and the development of relationships. It is a fantastic love story that I highly recommend.

This story is actually funny. I mean the title is sorta absurd so i was expecting a few laughs and I wasn’t disappointed. The two main characters are really likeable. I love the way Elle Spencer writes her books. I thought the story line would lead to some cliche road, like ex cheated blah blah, but that wasn’t the case.
Anyway, to sum this up, before i give away spoilers by accident. This was another awesome read. Go check out ‘Casting Lacy’ if you haven’t, you’d love it.

Another wonderful story by Elle Spencer. As usual with her books the main characters have a strong chemistry between them. Their dialog, their banter, their interaction, everything is just right. Even the secondary characters feel as real as the main ones.
This book was funny and emotional, two qualities that I've come to expect from her books.

I read Spencer’s [book:The Road to Madison|44162675] and was underwhelmed. This is a vast improvement.

Here, we have MC Veronica, a lawyer on track to becoming partner at her firm who is approaching 35 and wants to be married by then. Her assistant and mother come up with a scheme to set her up on 30 dates in 30 days to find ‘the one’.

The other MC is Rachel, a wedding photographer who is helping out a her cousin’s bar due to a family illness. This just happens to be the bar where Veronica’s dates take place, and Rachel gets drawn into the date scenarios, and then becomes drawn to Veronica. This attraction is mutual and through a series of events the leads spend time together, but Rachel has had her heart broken and isn’t looking for love, so the two are not on the same page. There’s a lot of back and forth about this, and it does kind of bog the book down from about halfway to the 3/4 mark, but some cute stuff still happens there.

There’s lots of fun side characters, especially the people at the bar and Veronica’s parents. Madison and Ana and characters from their book also appear, and I liked the update about what was happening with them. The chemistry between the leads is both fun and sexy, and I really liked how they interacted. I could have done with the subplot involving Rachel’s ex, but the other dates were fun enough to compensate. Overall this is a sweet and funny romance. 4 stars.

I cannot say enough about this book - I was laughing, tearing up, a bit mad, back to laughing again! This is my kind of book, LOTS and LOTS of dialog. This first few chapters when Veronica (V) starts the dating cycle, I was out loud laughing at some of these dates! Ms. Spencer's widely use of dialog was nothing less then perfect, I felt like I was at the next table hearing the whole date.

The book is a roller-coaster ride of emotions, but after I finished the book, I just wanted to take the ride all over again. Ms. Spencer takes you to laughing one minute, sad the next (how V just so bad wants her 'sparks fly' kind of connection to her happy ever after person), mad when you learn of Rachel's heartache and you just want to throttle her ex, and V's co-worker (who really gives women a bad name in climbing the success ladder), back to laughing and good feelings again. Like I said, a roller-coaster ride you will love.

Also if you enjoyed Ms. Spencer's book, The Road To Madison, there is a bit of interaction in this book that let's you know how Madison and Ana are doing (BONUS). Bottom line this book has believable main characters, lots of supporting characters (you are going to just love), and so much dialog (as you can tell I so love a book full of dialog verses more the internal thought monologue).

I've enjoyed a lot this book, I also liked the previous book of this author The Road to Madison, and I've been really glad to find the couple star in that book, Madison and Ana, showing up in this one, amidst a great amount of women, by de way.

Because it starts as a kind of lesbian catwalk, since the main character of the story, Veronica, is nudged by her assistant Bea to find the perfect woman to fulfill her dream of happy ever after, now that she has almost achieved a partnership in the law firm she's working for. Veronica at the beginning seems pretty stuck-up but once she starts the serial dating thing in which Bea puts her, she becomes a much more likable person, fun and kind. Rachel is pretty interesting too and her reluctance to any serious romantic involvement is quickly deflated when she meets Veronica, although she doesn't seems to realize.

There are some really hilarious situations in the book, all the beverages names and the three patrons of the bar where dates take place, commenting once they found what is doing Verónica every day with a different woman. And there are a bit of drama but not in excess, the way I like it.

All in all has been a fun and romantic comedy very enjoyable and recommended.

Veronica is a lawyer who has put off everything, including romance and finding her forever person so that she can become a partner at her firm. But, she can see her partnership finally happening and so she lets her assistant Bea (and Veronica's mother) set her up on 30 first dates in 30 days.

All the dates happen at the same bar, Monaghan's. And that's where she meets Rachel, the cousin of the owner who sometimes subs in for Charlotte, the owner, behind the literal bar. And so, Rachel, as well as three of the regulars get to see a parade of --usually-- cringe worthy dates that Veronica has. But, all the while, Veronica and Rachel are falling in love. The only problem is that Rachel has the biggest bunch of baggage I've ever read about in a lesfic book. Yikes. So, can the two of them get around that is the question.

It was a book that probably would have been a three star one for me usually, except, it pulled me in so fast, and every time I had to put it down, I really, really didn't want to (darn work). It was a fun and at times emotionally intense read. Ooh--ooh, and Ana and Madison were even in there too. Connected Universe for the win!! (Also, boo, I needed more Bea...)

I love a story about a supposedly driven person who is looking for love but is going about it in an earnest, if misguided way. That's pretty much what Veronica Welch is doing when she is roped into going on 30 dates in 30 days by her assistant. Veronica is a driven individual, but is a romantic at heart - she's looking for the lasting love that she sees in her parents. Unfortunately, she's also incredibly driven to get her promotion at work, so most of the motivation is to make partner. Enter sexy but emotionally unavailable bartender, Rachel. They're almost immediately attracted to each other, but the question becomes, who will realize it first?

I love Veronica so much - she awkward and blunt, but is genuinely a kind, earnest person. Her quest for love - though driven partially by her wanting to make partner, is honestly sweet. She knows what she wants but just doesn't know where to look. Rachel is a bit of a different story, though, and her emotional inability to want a longer term relationship does come with a good reason. But she does run hot and cold too many times with Veronica, and it is frustrating to see that. This type of trope would be annoying if other characters in the book wouldn't let her get away with it without consequence.

This was a really great read, with a surprisingly earnest lead. If anything, I do have trouble with how long it took Rachel to stop going hot and cold with Veronica, but that could just be me wanting to see Veronica happy.

Elle Spencer knocked it out of the park on this one. This is my first Elle Spencer read and I was thoroughly impressed. What single person can't relate to being 35 and married to their job?? I've said many times before, 'I wish someone could weed out the bad matches in my online dating inbox.' Sign me up!! Veronica is the woman who just has the one piece missing. Rachel is the woman trying to avid having that piece broken again. Everyone needs a group like Bea, Charlotte, Harry, Joe, and Carol in their life!! I can't say enough good things about this book. It had laughs and romance with just a bit of steam. That chapter 18 was straight on fire!!

30 Dates in 30 Days follows Veronica, a high-powered lawyer on the verge of partnership, a goal she’s been working towards single-mindedly for years on her journey to finally make time for love. As her 35th birthday approaches and her professional goal is all but guaranteed Veronica is looking to make up time on her other life goals (love and marriage). With the help of her extremely likable assistant, Bea, Veronica agrees to go on the titular 30 dates in 30 days with women Bea chooses for her on a dating app called Ryder.

The dates provided a fun structure for the novel and the wacky array of suitors serves up a healthy dose of comic relief, while also revealing a lot about Veronica. I loved how each date took place at the same neighborhood bar, Monaghan’s, an important character in its own right. The bar owner and regulars provide a lot of warmth to the story. Rachel, the bar owner Charlotte’s cousin, and also a famous wedding photographer who helps out at the bar, immediately draws Veronica’s eye.

It was fun to watch the push and pull of the chemistry between Veronica and Rachel play out even as Veronica continues to go on a string of terrible dates. They both had their own struggles and even if Rachel is sometimes difficult to like their connection felt believable and their struggles realistic.

I loved how all of the characters in this book seemed fully formed, even the crew of regular bar patrons in Monaghan’s.

I also enjoyed Spencer’s fun take on internet dating—the way Veronica approaches it like a series of brief job interviews captures her personality perfectly. This was a fun romance that balanced humor with some truly heavy topics. The characters had depth and were interesting. Very enjoyable!

I don't know why I was surprised that I liked this book so much, but I was and I loved it! I think it may have been the title, which sounded a little hokey, but the way that the dates came about and how they progressed was actually cute and entertaining.

V and Rachel's chemistry was wonderful. Hats off to Elle Spencer, who I think is getting better with every book she writes. The dialogue between them, especially when they are flirting, was adorable. I could really read the connection that they had versus V's other dates.

I even loved the secondary characters, primarily the bar group and Bea. I'm still not sure if Bea is straight or gay, but if she's on the fence at all then I'd love to have her in the next book as the MC. I'm still not sure what I feel about Lauren, but that's probably accurate to what the author wanted us to feel.

Overall, wonderful book!

Elle Spencer is becoming one of my trusted authors. So far, everything I have read by her has kept me glued to my kindle from start to finish. I was apprehensive about 30 Dates in 30 Days, the description seemed far fetched, but I was quickly accepting of all things unbelievable for the sake of a fun care-free read. I plan on requesting all of her books going forward.

After the fantastic Casting Lacey and the not-so-wonderful The Road to Madison, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect with this story. I’m happy to report that it’s a winner!

MC Veronica has poured her whole life into making partner at her law firm. She’s set aside her personal life for years and has given every spare minute to the firm, but now that she’s approaching 35, she realizes that her dream of making partner is within reach and she’s got nothing else to show for it. When her assistant, Bea, sets Veronica up to go on 30 dates over the course of 30 days in the hopes that she can find a romantic partner to share her life with, Veronica decides to give it a shot. Over the course of the next few weeks, Veronica is set up on one date a day, each for 30 minutes long, and all at the same neighborhood bar. The only problem, all of the women are hilariously wrong for Veronica! Of course, everyone knows it, from the local bar flies to the sexy part-time bartender Rachel (who’s only there to help out her cousin). You see, Rachel’s a famous wedding photographer who was once burned by love, so now she doesn’t believe in it. Not even the intense sparks between Veronica and Rachel can convince her that love is worth it.

Not only are the main characters in this one wonderfully developed and perfectly flawed, the side cast of characters in this one is also a win. It’s a lesfic version of Cheers, paired perfectly with the ‘will they or won’t they’ tension. Spoiler alert - they will, and you’ll love the journey too. I’m not normally a fan of rom-com, but this story was the perfect blend for me between funny and over-the-top. 4.25 stars.

What happens when your career is amazing but your personal life is not where you thought it would be by 35?? That is the predicament Veronica Welch is in. She is happy at her job, but she is not even close to being married.
For me, an ok read about not being where you thought you would be.

I loved the whole concept of this story, because it works on lots of levels. Although how anyone would manage 30 dates in 30 nights is beyond me. Still, the bar setting was a stroke of genius as the camaraderie and banter from the regulars worked so well. The different drinks for each date was an excellent device too. Then we also had the fantastic banter between the two leads. Fun, sassy and sexy in every setting, with a back story that made sense of motives. There was even an update from two leads from a previous book, which didn’t feel clunky. Basically it’s the quality of the writing as well as the quality of the plot that makes this book so good. Absolutely everything about this book works and feels natural despite the clever planning from the author. I really enjoyed the read.
