This is a classic best-friends-to-lovers story. Two people who have known each other for years and are comfortable in each other's company slowly fall in love. Evelyn and Owen met a few years ago and they've been close friends since then. They're always there for each other. And they're used to being each other's dates when needed. However, they aren't actually dating. The chemistry is there and love is there but they both feel that friendship is the only option for them.
Soon, they are going to realize that their friendship may not be the same if they didn't act upon their mutual attraction. But is it wise to even consider that? There are so many things that can go wrong. Still, they won't know unless they try.
It's a well-written story. I loved the characters and it has all the right feels for a contemporary romance. Also, I love it when best friends fall in love. It's the best. If you also enjoy that kind of stories then this is definitely for you.

This is a magnificent story. Evelyn and Owen are both divorced and have become best friends. Their relationship is comfortable and they trust each. After years of going on like this they decide to change their status and start having sex. This changes everything.

Evelyn is strong and very focused on her career. The only time she gets to be herself is with Owen. Owen has trust issues from his divorce and that is becoming a cloud in this new relationship.

The author does an excellent job of bringing out the human element. She shoes that there is hope to start over later in life. The characters are smart and witty. They have fun while living their best life and are able to face the realities of a relationship.

I don't usually like friends-to-lovers but this one is one of the few that I thought was cute! Owen and Evelyn have been friends for a while having bonded in a divorce support group. They really learned to lean on each other when needed and it's just adorable! They decide to take things further but can happily ever after happen when both of them have issues that haven't quite been resolved?

The writing is great, funny at times and had me smiling. No dull parts, the characters were great. This is a great book if you just want to lose yourself in an engaging novel to escape life. It will make you smile and laugh and there are even a few parts that will tug at your heart. A wonderful read.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Will go live on my blog: 10/13/2019

evelyn and owen are best friends who have come to rely each other in every way, except it's all platonic. he's her date for work events. she's his for the same. my forever plus-one is actually aptly titled. they have each other's keys. they talk every day and know what's going on in each other's lives to a perhaps unhealthy degree.

when they first met, they were both recently divorced, recently damaged, and they valued their friendship over the intimacy. but over time, the lines have blurred. and they are intimate without being intimate.

but they're still pretty bad at communicating. or maybe it's bad at listening. because i feel like at one point owen is pretty clear about what his issues are and evelyn kind of blows him off about it, only to realize he is right, but he's also behaved like a giant d-bag and so she's rightfully mad and so then he has to grovel.

this is tropey friends-to-lovers goodness, and owen and evelyn are a well-matched pair. and the divorce club folks aren't so hugely invested, though i'm not sure what i'm going to do when nina is the lead because she's occasionally such a know-it-all that i can't stand it. but this series is on the whole totally enjoyable.

**my forever plus-one will publish on october 14, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (august) in exchange for my honest review.

Best friends to lovers, Evelyn and Owen are easily the best couple ever. A tv producer and a firefighter, each with ex-spouses, meld together so well as if it's always been that way. A few bumps in the road make them stronger. This is just one story within a divorce group, each gets their own book, but they meet for coffee and advice frequently so they flow among the books. Who's next in this group to fall in love? My copy came through Netgalley, review provided voluntarily.

A very good friends to more than friends romance novel. Evelyn and Owen are truly devoted to one another and helped each other out through their divorces and becoming their friend date to events they attended. Slowly they start developing stronger feelings and dive into a relationship with each other. A little drama thrown in about the exes, but thankfully not overboard as many romance novelists tend to do. A solid romance read.

Schroeder is onto something big with her Daring Divorcees series. We all love a good second chance romance, but this time the second chance come with a new partner!

Evelyn and Owen have both been in a marriage that ended in divorce. They met at a coffee group for divorcees and became fast friends. After years of being each others plus one, they realize how perfect their relationship is. Could adding sex to the mix add to the relationship or will it all end badly?

The Daring Divorcees series books are all stand alone stories. #MyForeverPlus-One was a perfect read for a rainy weekend! Thanks #NetGalley and #EntangledPublishing for providing me with an advanced reading copy in return for an honest review.

So good , so touching, so emotional.
I had a tear or two on this book .

Two people, best friends, soul mates .
These two where meant to be together.
When they finally take the plunge , old trust issues and ex husbands rear their ugly heads.
Can they overcome their demons and make this work .
Loved every page , well written good characters.

I got frustrated I must admit with the friends annoying advise, loved the brotherly bond .

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Friendship becomes love!

Television producer Evelyn Rhodes has always asked her best friend, firefighter Owen Hanson to be her plus-one for any work functions or family stuff that she needed a date for and Owen did the same because neither of them was dating anybody. But when Evelyn wanted to make more of their friendship Owen started to panic because of how his first marriage collapsed when his wife couldn’t handle his job. Owen wasn’t sure what he wanted but he knew he wanted Evelyn and he had to fix the situation before she gave up him.

I absolutely love stories that start with friends because you get to know the person before moving into a deeper relationship with them. Plus their friends were taking bets on when they would actually the friendship to the next level of love.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A sweet friends to lovers romance that shows it ain't always easy. I loved the fact that these were established adults who each had a divorce under their belts. The characters were interesting and the road to love realistic. These characters have to earn their happily ever after. Each face personal growth. This won't be my last book by this author.

Such a sweet story! A reminder that love isn’t always easy but it is worth it - and we all screw up sometime! Definitely worth the read. I’ll be adding the next one to my TBR list!

Friends to lovers remains my favourite romance trope, but of course I have to be rooting for the friends to become something more. Fortunately, Evelyn and Owen are so good together. And it was also refreshing to have protagonists who have been married once and are now divorced. I also love how independent and good at her job, Evelyn. That being said, I did have an issue with Owen and his trust issues. While I can understand him still having baggage from his past, I did not appreciate how he acted when it came to Evelyn's career. Many of his actions could have negatively affected Evelyn's career, though fortunately this didn't happen. Still I did like that he was actively working on his issues and making changes and amends though I'm not sure he and Evelyn should have rushed back to each other so soon. This was my first book from this author and series, and I may be tempted to check out more especially if there's going to be one with Nina and Gabe who seemed to have some unresolved sexual tension in this book.

3 1\2 stars
Best friend romance stories are hard to be creative and made it just different enough from other authors out there. The book is interesting with both leads having been divorced and marriage not what they expected it to be.
The best friends are very much apart of each other lives and it isn't until a mutual friend points out how much it would hurt the other if they were not together.
The story moves quickly making it a easy beach read for those needing a happily ever after.
The story is basic doesn't add to or stand out in the romance genre.

I love this series. This is the third book and this book is about Owen and Evelyn. They have been best friends for a long time. They are part of the same divorce support group. Everyone around them can see how much they love each other except for the two of them. They soon come to realize that perhaps they should take a chance on each other and start a real relationship. At first it is all great but then both of their insecurities start to come to the surf and they each begin to have doubts in each other. What happens when those doubts come out? Will they be able to savage their relationship and move on? Pick up this book and find out It is a really great read with some great supporting characters. I am really looking forward to seeing whose story is next. I am hoping it is Gabe's! Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first time reading anything from this author and I really enjoyed this book from cover to cover.

This is the third book in her series Daring Divorcees but is a stand-alone. It's Owen and Evelyn's book. Owen is Evelyn's best friend and both are beginning to wonder if everyone is right about them being perfect for each other. They both know sex will change what they have right now. Will they take the risk?

I loved both of these characters. They both knew how to support each other. I just found myself rooting for them.

I do enjoy friends to lovers stories, which is what this one is. Unlike stories about strangers who meet, or couples who start out not really liking one another, with friends to lovers storyline, they can jump forward quite a few steps. It makes the speed that a lot of these relationships move at much more convincing. In My Forever Plus-One, the couple in question are best friends Owen and Evelyn. They are so close that it's obvious to all of their friends (and us) that really they should be more than just friends.
I enjoyed the way the story unfolded, with both of them discovering that they had feelings for each other that went beyond friendship. Of course, this being a romance novel, there was bound to be a little bit of a rocky path to happily ever after. Both of our lead characters have been married before. As a result, they both have quite a bit of emotional baggage and their two different experiences of relationships in the past lead them to find their own relationship to be a little bit of a struggle as they work out how they are together as a couple.
I enjoyed this book and the story of Evelyn and Owen, they worked well together.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Owen is just always trying to ease his woman, "...I promise, no one is thinking about us getting it on. Except me.” He pulled her toward the bed. “I think we have an hour since we don’t have to get your bag packed.” Owen's mom is a freakin' hoot, “I get it now. Tired. Sure. You could’ve just said you were going to your room to boink.” I liked this book, I liked Owen.

Owen and Evelyn met several years ago when they joined a divorce support group. After sleeping together one time, they decided that neither was ready for a relationship, so they agreed to just be friends. Eventually, they became best friends, who supported each other in every way, including as serving as the plus-one for each other at events.

While they both continued to date, neither entered into any kind of a lasting relationship. While they were very attracted to each other, for a long time, neither was willing to risk their friendship for the possibility of something more. As time passed, they both started to look at each other differently and agreed to try a real relationship.

Can two people who still have baggage from earlier relationships, get over that to have a successful relationship or will they allow that baggage to end their long-time friendship?

My Forever Plus-One is a funny, romantic, and sometimes painful story of two people finding their way to each other. I would highly recommend it!

The story of Owen and Evely. Best friends for years, but now things between them are changing, so will they be more than friends.

I liked how it is told from both of their points of view, as they both have their own issues they are trying to deal with.

Really looking forward to the rest of this series.

I really enjoy the friends-to-lovers trope and this is a good entry into that line of romance novels. Evelyn and Owen have become best friends as they bonded after both being in a group for the divorced. They are just comfortable together even though they have little in common from their professional lives. Evelyn is a producer on a local news talk show with hopes of starting a new show devoted to Chicagoans. Owen is a firefighter who spends most of his spare time volunteering at a local center for children who have nowhere to go after school. But they fit together. And they support each other by being the “plus one” at each other’s social gatherings.

Of course, they’re attracted to each other and, like all such plots, they fear sacrificing their close friendship if they take their relationship to the next level. And once they do, they’re going to encounter new challenges that their innate love and trust in each other will be necessary for them to overcome.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
