Tangled up in Christmas is a angsty second chance story about Hannah, a photographer and Roarke, a veterinarian who grew up together in Sweetwater, Texas, fell in love, got engaged and had the relationship blow up. Hannah fled to L A, but now is back in Texas. She gets hired to plan an Christmas event in her hometown that will require she work with Roarke. The spark still is there, but Hannah is determined not to let her heart get involved again. Roarke is hiding secrets about the real reason they broke up, secrets that would cause more pain should they be revealed. Going home might get awkward, but there is a Christmas festival to plan and animals to save and treat. The author has created good supporting characters and the Texas setting was fun for this Texan to read about. Overall this was a very enjoyable read. The volume also included a great bonus story, Santa Baby by Ms. Jones. In this story bookstore owner Caron and mogul Baxter get caught up in their attraction and an FBI investigation. Is it possible to have a meaningful relationship under the circumstances? I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

We all remember Roarke from the first book. He's Jason's best friend.

Hannah also used to be friends with those two guys. And she was so much more to Roarke. But then after that summer six years ago, Hannah left town with a broken heart.

But now she lost her job in Los Angeles and she's back home with an event-planning business.

And Roarke is still just as attracted to her. He never stopped loving her.

But what happened six years ago - why did he let her go???

READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

Adorable!

A really sweet Texas & horses & cookies & second chances romance!

With lots of funny and adorable moments.
Holiday moments. Fighting moments. Arguing moments. Lots of sparky moments! Some heartbreaking & frustrating moments.

I really enjoyed reading it.

It was also another Lisa Renee Jones book - so it was just too long for me somehow. We could've cut a few pages and a few too complicated sentences. The writing was too weird and complicated here and there. It felt like Lisa tried too hard to sound different. I had to put it on hold for a couple of days and read two other review books first. Ones which moved through my brain much more easily. No idea why Lisa's words are too un-flow-y for my mind - maybe I just had an off day for that kind of writing. But I came back - and I really like the story now that I'm done with it. That sounds weird and a bit unkind. But it's a really cute second-chance love story!

I loved seeing Jason and Jessica from the first book again - and the grandmas!

I missed the Christmas from the title a bit. We don't really have Christmas is the book. There is some holiday stuff because they're planning that charity event, but that's it.

And for all her being mad at him and her resisting, it took her only such a short time in the end to forgive and forget and move right into his house. Which was so weird - she could've just stayed six years ago. What a waste of time! BUT - she was too young back then - she had a bit of life to live first. And Roarke was mature for both of them. He was really so very adorable! But he should've told her the truth a long time ago. But.... it was all okay the way it was. I liked reading the book. It was cute.

► TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS was an adorable Texas-Horses-Second-Chance Love Story!

If you wanted a book featuring Roarke, and I did, it's finally here! This is a second chance romance and it's the best! Roarke's unwavering love for Hannah is swoon-worthy!

It's been six years since they last laid eyes on each other. She can't get away from him quick enough. But she finds herself having to work with him back in Sweetwater as she helps prepare the Christmas Festival. The more time they spend together she's reminded of their past friendship and the attraction that still burns hot between them. There are things he wants to clarify about the past, that are always on the tip of his tongue, he's just afraid that it will make her run again.

I did not want this book to end! I read it as slowly as possible just to make it last longer. There is definitely a HEA here and a sweet surprise towards the end.

I give this book 4,5 stars.

I really loved “Tangled up in Christmas”.

The only reason I deducted half a star is because of Hannah in the beginning of the story. She was very stubborn and childish towards Roarke. She kept running away from him and wouldn’t listen to him since he was the one at fault for their breakup 6 years earlier. Little does she know, he didn’t do what he was accused of by her and there was other reasons behind what happened to them. Hannah starts figuring out some things and slowly starts to come around and realize what she wants. She truly grows with time and I began to love her too.
Now Roarke on the other hand is truly amazing from the start wow! He is a veterinarian, a horse wrangler and he is known on YouTube as the horse whisperer. I fell in love with him in “The truth about cowboys” (Jason’s best friend) and that definitely didn’t change in this book, actually quite the opposite. I want to marry him ha ha ha. He is so sweet, hot and a true alpha, but also very soft on the inside.

This is a story of lost love, family secrets and growing up and figuring out who you are and where you belong! A true enemies to lovers, second chance, small town romance with love of animals, amazing characters and great plot.

There was also a very sweet surprise at the end of the book so I can definitely recommend this book.

I got this book from Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Tangled Up In Christmas, Lisa Renee Jones

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: General fiction (Adult), Romance

Well, having read several of Lisa's books now this one caught me out. I'm used to her hot and sensual, suspenseful and edgy reads, and this one – well it felt like Lisa Renee Jones does Mills and Boon. It was a fun read and I enjoyed it but I didn't love it.
Maybe if I'd read the previous book I'd have got more from it, although they are stand alone reads. I might try the truth about cowboys and see.

Roarke, wow, what a man, hot and sensual he drips sex with every word. And horses, he helps horses, so how could I not love the guy. Yet I didn't feel his excuse for not coming after Hannah was really enough. I also wasn't convinced by her running away – did she love the guy or not? That though does get a proper and plausible explanation later in the story.
Of course poor Hannah is still in Hate Roarke mode, and yet deep down she still harbours feelings for him, something that's obvious to the whole town, and which Roarke makes full use of. They end up having some steamy encounters, so maybe its M&B racy version :-) I did like that there was lots going on in the novel, not just Hannah and Roarke, but little side plots that added to the enjoyment for me.

Its a fun read, easy to follow, but although there was a lot going on it lacked real depth for me. I felt the past issues were glossed over too easily, especially with regard to her parents. I'm not sure I could be that forgiving.

Stars: Three and a half, more than just a simple Good read, but not the drama I look forward to in a LRJ novel that makes for four and fives.
