Oh how I loved returning to the small town of Sweetwater, Texas and it's fantastic residents! Hannah and Roarke's story is a sweet and sexy second chance romance that I loved from beginning to end. This story has all the feels and I absolutely loved the ending! Hannah and Roarke are perfect together and I loved that they got their perfect HEA!

I didn't think it was possible, but this little world of Sweetwater, Texas just got even better!!

I love this series. I love this town. I love the people. I just love everything about it.

I loved Hannah and Roarke’s second chance to get it right but I’m going to get my one tiny little twitchy point out of the way before I talk about its greatness….(view spoiler) <<< I don’t know who’s idea that was (author or publisher) but that needs work LOL But let’s move on lol …

This series (and book) is a little different than what I’ve normally read by Lisa. Normally you get angst and suspense with her stories, but not this one. I mean yes, there’s the mystery of why they didn’t work out all those years ago, but it’s very low on angst. It’s a feel-good romance story with great lead characters as well as secondary characters. I am very impressed and delighted with this new style from Lisa and I can’t wait to devour more!!

I really didn't care for this book, and I like second chance love stories. I found the wording quite confusing at times, forcing me to reread sentences and paragraphs to make sense of them. The conflict was weak IMO and I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Other reviewers seemed to have loved it, so maybe it was just me. Overall, this book was OK, but confusing to read. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Hannah and Roarke were engaged once upon a time but then Hannah found out that Roarke cheated on her. She left for LA and didn't come back until her job was taken away. Now she's forced to work alongside the man she still loves that broke her heart. Can they work things out and get back together? What will Hannah do when she finds out that Roarke never actually cheated and he's covering up something far worse? Will they finally make it to happily ever after together?

I'm not one for second-hand romance because I like the newness of the whole romance. I want to see them come together the first time and watching them grow as a couple but when I saw this one I NetGalley I wanted to read it because I was looking for more Christmas romances that had a heat level to them. This is one I really like! Sure it all boils down to the couple not talking things over but I still enjoyed the characters enough that it was easy to overlook that little bit.

There's humor, heat, and cute moments that will touch your heart and leave you smiling. So if you're looking for a good holiday romance I say go for this one!

Even though I got this book for NetGalley for free, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Will go live on my blog: 12/11/2019

Hannah and Roarke were engaged a long time ago. For reasons that are unclear at first, Hannah fled Sweetwater and ran to California to start her career as a photographer. Her career, now in a shambles because of her boss and "#Me Too" claims, she is now back in Sweetwater. They literally bump into each other at the airport upon her arrival and sparks fly. It becomes apparent that neither one has moved on or gotten over the other. It also becomes clear that not all is at it seemed at the time of their breakup. Roarke was trying to protect Hannah from some uncomfortable truths and seemed to think he was putting her first when he allowed her to leave.
Their story was interesting, but I did have quite a few questions as to why it would take so long for both of them to decide it was time to try again. The appearance of the side characters from book #1 in this series was a nice touch. It created a homey atmosphere that helped with the story.
I did like both Roarke and Hannah. The book flowed well and kept me entertained. I am looking forward to more in this series.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Second Chance Romance

This is a story about allowing yourself to love again. After Hannah thought her world had broken apart, she left her hometown for a different life. She has been away for years and now finds herself back in town to help promote a Christmas festival.

Roarke is known as the horse whisperer. Now a vet that caters to all kinds of animals, Roarke knows that he has to find a way to get Hannah to forgive him – to listen to him. He has never loved another woman as much as he has loved Hannah.

With secrets about to be discovered and a festival that needs to be put on, Hannah and Roarke start this dance around their past and future.

The secondary characters are well developed and I really enjoyed watching this story unfold. The couple is easy to relate to and the secrets are not super angsty. Both will have to decide if the past will rule their future or if they are willing to carve out their own path.

Triggers: Cheating.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone – I did! I may have to go back and read about Jason and Jessica, as they are important in this story, and we get some strong hints that how their relationship started is definitely worth knowing.

Hannah finds herself back in the town she grew up, and that she left after being sent an incriminating video of her fiancé, Roarke. She never found another to love but has lived in denial ever since. Inevitably they meet on her return, and the chemistry is still there. He never found anyone who filled her space either – so in theory, this should be easy!

As we find out what really happened and how they both misstepped, it is just a matter of time and circumstance that should bring them back together. The timing in particular is key. What the author cleverly does, is ensure that we can see growth in attitude and confidence by Hannah. She is older, wiser, and prepared to listen and believe. It is refreshing and works well, rather than repeating the errors of the past.

I enjoyed seeing Roarke's career of caring for animals, and whilst being a big deal in his world, he liked nothing better than the home he has created in Sweetwater. The side characters were also great fun, and I enjoyed how Hannah was drawn into a family that she felt she had lost.

A very enjoyable Christmassy and romantic read, thank you, Lisa Renee Jones!

This is a really sweet story about two lost souls with an unexpected twist that was crafted in a really good way.
Hannah comes back to her town after a few years. She had a broken heart and now she's back to the place it wall had happened. What will happen when she meets the man that had hurt her? Will she manage to forgive him? Or maybe nothing can be done about it?
Roarke still loves Hannah after those few years but he doesn't know what to do to make her forgive him and start anew.
Nothing can be taken for sure, as some hidden truths will be shocking!
I really liked this sweet story that has warmed my heart.

Wow! I didn’t get to read book one but being a stand alone series I didn’t miss a beat! How can you not fall in love with roarke..... you root for him and Hannah though the whole book. That he can tell her the truth and not only free himself from the guilt but allow him to go back after the woman he loves.

Great second chance romance! Must read from Lisa Renee Jones

Just when she can’t top her last series, she goes and does it again!

This is the second in a series, one that is a bit different than the path Lisa Renee Jones usually takes. This one wasn't my favorite in the series, but I think it was because a second book was included and it felt a bit off. Some people are fans of having 2 books in one, I apparently am not.

AMAZING!!!!! I loved this story so much. You’ll definitely fall in love with Roarke. This is a beautiful emotional second chance love story, with some holiday cheer.

I am loving the Texas Heat series. Lisa Renee Jones has always been one of my favorite authors. She knows how to write drama, Romantic Suspense and now has me totally involved and in love with this mainstream series. She knows how to write a story that will melt your heart and bring a beautiful smile to your face.
I wasn’t really sure how this story was going to progress and what could be done to salvage the relationship between Hannah and Roarke. A second chance, that’s all Roarke wants. Hannah wants her feelings to go away … there is no way that she can trust him. But, she doesn’t know that he’s keeping something from her. Something that could tear her life apart and that of his best friend, Jason. But, he has to believe that his actions will speak louder than words and that she’ll finally accept his explanation and his love.
There is so much about this story that pulled at my heart-strings. Roarke and the secret he kept for years. Hannah and how she dealt with what she thought was a betrayal. The love that they both held onto even when they tried to move on. Their story and back-story were so heart-breakingly beautiful. And, as they came out the other side with their hearts fuller than they were before, you can’t help but feel happy.
I loved how Lisa Renee Jones truly brought Hannah and Roarke full circle. She surrounded them with family and friends who had nothing but love for both of them. They all worked together to do what had to be done. They were there for the good and the bad. To see how they resolved the issues in their lives and just how far Roarke would go to get Hannah to see that she could trust him and love him. Your heart can’t help but go out to Roarke. You understand why Hannah had trust issues. And, when Lisa Renee Jones decides to throw in a twist, you know that you are going to love it. And, boy did I love it.
Christmas miracles, Christmas festivals, families finally brought back together. You can’t help but love this beautiful Lisa Renee Jones second chance love story and look forward to the next.

Tangled Up In Christmas Review:

Hannah had her heart broken and jetted off to LA to make a career in photography. Now shes back in town and with her luck she runs into the person who broke her heart Roarke but she refuses to let past issues get into the way of them at least being civil since they are going to be around each other because of a job shes taken up. Shes going to see a lot of him and old feelings past hurts come to the front and they are going to eventually have to face the past.

This a book set during the beginning of the holiday season so this is the best time to check it out of you are looking for a cute contemporary book. This book is about heartbreak, healing, and second chances. Its clear from the beginning of the book that there is something that causes Hannah to run and I was curious what that was and how it was going to get resolved. This book almost felt rushed but then thinking on it again, they did know each other and it was the rough patch, secrets and lies that were going to have to be resolved for anything to work. I loved the small town feel and enjoyed seeing the connection stir up the longer they were around each other. Overall this was a pretty good book I really enjoyed it.

Santa Baby Review

Caron is pretty straight laced as they come, never breaking out the mold living a quiet life working at her bookshop. She wasn't thrilled about being offered the chance for free publicity by modeling as Audrey Hepburn but figured her prim attire would be fine, until a few mishaps lead her to dress up as so off as Marilyn Monroe. Getting into character she figures to act different from her normal self and decides to see where things take here when she meet Baxter. Baxter is a well known businessman who is being tailed by the FBI because of a coworker/friend who seems to be running from the law. FBI thinks Baxter might be apart of the scheme and looking to come up with something to take him and his friend down. Long story short Carons life isn't going to be so quiet with FBI breathing down her and Baxtors neck.

Wow, I'm pretty sure that was a terrible description of this book. But trust me when I say that this book is anything but terrible, I actually pretty much devoured this second story from start to end. I didn't even know this book was a two in one kinda things so yay for bonus stories. I did enjoy getting to know the characters and seeing Caron change as the the story progressed. Then there was the FBI to keep things interesting popping up from time to time looking to jack things up and wait for them to screw up and lead them to the information they are seeking. Now while I did love getting the perspectives of the main character, I wasn't a fan of the extra point of views. It was a sort of side story of one of the FBI's agents and their side and romance. It was unnecessary to me personally. I think it would've been great as a tiny novella after this book. I mean if you were to cut that side out it wouldn't have done anything to chance the story. I suppose if your interested in side characters insight of what is going on then yea its good but for me I just really wasn't that interested. Overall I did enjoy this book and recommend you lovely readers check it out!

This story is so sweet. I swooned so much. It is full of heart and I absolutely loved it. It's different from the stories I have read by this author, but still just as rewarding. I can't wait for more from Lisa Renee Jones.

Roarke and Hannah used to be a item. Close as could be and even engaged. Someone conspired against them and tore them apart. Now Roarke has a chance to get Hannah back and he isn't going to waste it. Hannah still loves him but can she trust him. This is a classic second chance story. LOVED Roarke. He doesn't give up and Hannah tried to resist and protect her heart but she doesn't know that what she thinks happened way back when never did. Can Roarke convince her to let him back in? All these questions are answered. There's not much for angst in this book but it was still a enjoyable read. There's even a extra story at the end of this book to sweeten the goodness.
