Tangled Up In Christmas is the second book in the Texas Heat series and can be read as a standalone. This was the perfect second chance romance! I loved both Roarke and Hannah and completely understood where they were both coming from. This story was super low angst and a definite must-read this holiday season!

Tangled Up In Christmas by Lisa Renee Jones is the second book in her Texas Heat series and it was a charming second chance romance with very low angst. Hannah is back home and what she wants most is to avoid Roarke. He broke her heart and she can never trust him again, right? But now he is suddenly everywhere. Can she open her heart to him again?

I loved Roarke. He was sweet and caring and knew what he wanted. Hannah was not sure she could believe in him, but he slowly knocked down her walls. Now they are rebuilding their friendship and possibly even more! Tangled Up In Christmas by Lisa Renee Jones was a great holiday read with all the best feels.

Happy reading!

Tangled Up In Christmas is book 2 in The Texas Heat series by Lisa Renee Jones. This is Roarke and Hannah’s story and is a great second chance romance. This book is a little different from most of this authors books but she doesn’t disappoint. I loved this book and highly recommend it!!

Tangled Up In Christmas was okay.

Hannah and Roarke broke up years ago when she was sent a video insinuating that he cheated. Now years later after Hannah lost her dream job she's back home with a plan to start over and ends up running smack into Roarke. It's a lot of push and pull to get these two to see that they're perfect for each other.

This book was fine. In every sense of the word. It was fine. The pacing was good in some areas and not in others (dragging a lot unnecessarily). I felt like I was reading Hannah and Roake's love story over the span of a few years when it was only two weeks. It felt like it took me two weeks to read it during some of the scenes.

Hannah was an okay character. I didn't hate her or love her. She was just fine. Roarke for me was very similar. I don't think we got enough of his POV and I would have liked to escape from Hannah's very repetitive thoughts more than I got to.

Overall this is a fine story. It's not great. It's not terrible. It just is.

I absolutely loved Roarke and Hannah's story. Ms Jones not only captured the heart of this story but told it in such a way that you find yourself rooting for the couple. Due to a misunderstanding the two have not seen one another in seven years. The intriguing part is finding out who is behind the misunderstanding and why. A truly great second chance romance. Roarke is a man you can't help but swoon over. His determination to get Hannah back is wonderful. Hannah can't deny that Rourke is the only one she has ever loved. They slowly open up to one another and because they are older and wiser now they are now willing to talk about what happened that lead Hannah to leave. The chemistry between them has obviously never died and if anything it has grown stronger. This may be different from Ms Jones' more suspenseful romances, yet it is just as good. It seems Ms Jones is a very talented writer no matter what type of romance she is writing. I absolutely loved this book and am looking forward to more in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Roarke was the love of her life. Having been engaged to him and on the verge of marriage, Hannah could not think of anything that could go wrong. Just then, a video of Roarke and a model (who was all over him!) showed up on her phone. Needless to say, Hannah packed her bags and left Sweetwater, Texas hopefully never to come back.

A couple of years have passed and Hannah is now in Dallas and starting to make a new beginning with her career as a photographer and event organizer. Maybe it was Fate but running straight into Roarke's chest at the airport was not her idea of fun. Then, running into him a month later on her first big photographer assignment was totally unexpected. Now, it turns out she has been booked to do a Christmas Festival in Sweetwater to benefit the Children's Hospital and guess who one of her bosses will be? You are correct! Roarke!!!

This love/hate/love journey is full of wit, emotions, and most of all romance! This is one of those books you will not want to put down and will not want for the story to end.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.

Hannah and Roarke grew up together, and her childhood crush became a relationship one summer long ago. Fairly complex circumstances that you learn through the story drove her away, and they've both unsuccessfully been trying to get over each other. When Hannah ends up back in Texas and runs into him, all the feelings on both sides come rushing back. Then she has to work with him to plan the Christmas festival.
I wanted there to be more time in the book with them together. I also wanted more devoted to the days of the Christmas festival. The majority of this book takes place in October, and I had expected more holiday time.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

***4 Stars***

My head hurts.

It really does.

Roarke and Hannah took me on one hell of a ride. A ride I was all in for. But hot damn. The yo-yo’ing these two did just about killed me ~ though if it had, it would have been my own fault because I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next, but I needed to see just how everything would work it self for Roarke and Hannah in the end.

I really liked Hannah and Roarke. Roarke is a good man. Compassionate, passionate and determined. Hannah is sweet, creative and motivated. But when it came to their second chance at love journey...OMG they drove me batshitcrazy ~ Hannah more than Roarke in all honesty (wishy washy people drive me insane and considering I’m a Libra and am well versed in wishy washy it says a lot) ~ but they both definitely had their moments, in the past and the present. Thank goodness for their friends, family and just the nosy as all get out people of Sweetwater for making both of them see the error of their ways and finally get on the same page, because even through everything I knew that they were it for each other.

This one was definitely a rollercoaster of a ride, but worth it in the end. I loved catching up with Jason, Jessica and Martha and loved meeting Ruth ~ who was so much fun! I’m crossing my toes that we’ll get to spend a little more time in Sweetwater because there were a couple of interesting moments that I think could develop into a whole lot more!

Tangled Up in Christmas by Lisa Renee Jones is book two in her Texas Haet Series. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is The Truth About Cowboys and is set in Sweetwater, Texas, just like Tangled Up in Christmas.
Hannah is a successful photographer and back home for good. She starts over. New home, new job, new life.
And there's Roarke Frost, her nemesis. They grew up as neighbors and had a teenage crush on each other. The busy horse whisperer and best friend of Jason share a past.
TUIC is a slow burn, a sweet story from Sweetwater, TX. I liked the story and the characters. 4,5 beautiful stars.

The second book in this Sweetwater, TX series, finds Roarke and Hannah looking for their HEA. It was a cute story, and I love that the author used Roarke for the H name. I had read the first book, but truly this was a standalone. This second chance romance was interesting, but I felt that the don’t tell her, don’t tell him conflict went on a little long. I wanted to scream at both of them in parts of the storyline. However, I did enjoy the last third of the book and felt there was real growth in all of the parties involved!

I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Hannah and Roarke was well written and an awesome hot read. Hannah is a strong woman who thought her long time crush cheated on her. Roarke has secrets that may ruin the butting new relationship they are starting. A must read book. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

A fun second chance romance. I am a sucker for a good second chance, and this one was everything I was looking for. They never stopped loving each other, and they definitely had chemistry. Plus add in some Christmas elements? I'm sold. I enjoyed the characters and liked watching them work through their past. It is clear they are meant to be. And that ending? It was everything I wanted it to be! While this is the second in a series, it completely stands alone. Highly recommend!

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Roake and Hannah are a breath of fresh air in Tangled Up in Christmas. Hannah and Roarke were once young and in love and torn apart due to a family conflict. Although, only Roarke knows that the conflict exists and will hurt Hannah if she was made aware. So when Hannah believes that Roarke cheated she runs to LA to escape the hurt from the love of her life. Roarke devasted lets Hannah run rather than explain the truth to her. Now after time has passed and Hannah arrives back in Sweetwater to put her life and career back together she realizes that she can not run from Roarke again or the love they still feel for each other. As they work on becoming a couple again, will the past interfere or will they move past it and end up married as they once planned to be?

Amazing read! Thank you, Lisa Renee Jones, for Roarke and Hannah's love story.

I'm never a big fan of second chance romances because they're typically so full of boring angst and back-and-forth whining, so I was pleasantly surprised with Tangled Up In Christmas. It's a shame Roarke was tangled up in a troublesome photo and wasn't able to defend himself, because if younger minds had stayed calm, the their lives would've turned out much differently. I will say that I am happy to have had a full resolution in this book, rather than it being spread out over a series. It was a good, solid book.

Who doesn’t love Cowboys? Not this Texas girl...I mean come on...let’s be serious! Add the fact that he is a sweet talking, devoted, veterinarian and saver of animals Cowboy and it’s a home run in my opinion! I loved Roarke! 💕💕💕 This is a second chance book with Roarke and Hannah. These two had grown up together, fell in love, and were engaged until Roarke allegedly cheats on Hannah.

This story takes place 6 years later, and our sweet talking cowboy has Hannah in is sights 👀and is ready to rekindle the love 💏 they shared. But is it too late? Can Hannah let go of the past and let Roarke back into her heart? You will need to read this book to find out!

I enjoyed this book, and the ending was fantastical!!! Do I recommend? What do you think...save a horse, ride a cowboy 🤠! Read this book!!!!

This is the second book in the series and I did not read the first book. It can certainly stand alone but I'm sure you're missing out on a great read to get Jason's story.

5 Finding Home Again Stars!!!

One of the things I love so much about Lisa Renee Jones’ writing is her ability to write stories in whatever sub-genre of romance she wants to write about. This book is a fabulous second chance holiday romance and I loved every page of this story.

Hannah and Roarke were engaged several years ago and then it all crashed and burned, and when we find out how’s and why’s, I’m not going to say my heart didn’t hurt just a little bit because it did! Because of her pain Hannah escapes Sweetwater, TX and heads to LA to work on her photography skills. When she finds herself having to come back to Texas after seven years the last person she wants to see or expects to see is Roarke…imagine both their surprise and where they meet again totally had me chuckling!!

Anyway, Hannah is determined to not fall under his spell again. Her heart just can’t take another disappointment but the fates are not in her corner when she gets the opportunity to put her new event planning business on the map while working with Jason and Jessica (we met them in The Truth About Cowboys) she has no choice to be in this man’s presence on a regular basis. I was so on board with this project because I knew there was a connection that was still so strong for both of them…

“This isn’t home. Dallas isn’t home, but this man, he is home.”

I could feel Hannah’s anguish in admitting that to herself. Roarke is a man that’s been embedded in her heart and here he is in all his glory and success wanting to reconnect but she’s so conflicted about it. I absolutely loved this man! He’s determined to protect her from some of the reasons to what happened all those years ago but he wants her love again too!

Things start to come to a head so to speak and their heat is sizzling and sexy in all the right ways….

“I can’t explain what kissing him feels like, but I just need more of it, of him.”

I knew right there that she was a goner! I was on board with team Roarke and Hannah and I kept reading and reading because I wanted their HEA almost as much as they did!

This book moves at a rapid pace because of what Roarke and Jason are trying to accomplish in Sweetwater, but honestly, it fits with our H/h finding their way back to each other. Their passion is fiery and now that they’ve found themselves back to where it all started, they don’t want to waste any time!!

Don’t get me wrong it’s not a smooth ride and there will be some hurt feelings but their love is even stronger now and they’re able to see more than what’s on the surface of some of the reasons for them being apart all these years!

If you’ve not read Ms. Jones before or if you’re looking to kick-off your holiday season reads with a romance that has it all, this is the book for you!!

If you have read THE TRUTH ABOUT COWBOYS then you know Roarke, he is the Vet in the town of Sweetwater and best friend to Jason, this is his story. I was really looking forward to reading about Roarke and learning more about this brooding cowboy because we all know that someone broke his heart at some point we just didn't know who or how, well we get all the answers we were looking for in this book.

Hannah is returning to Texas after working in California for a few years, her boss got caught up in the #MeToo movement and she was blacklisted along with him because of her association to him...I will admit, this didn't sit right with me but I guess it was a good excuse for her to return home, anyway, she is starting her own business as an Event Planner and her first major event is going to land her right smack into the person she was hoping to avoid at all costs, Roarke.

So that's the basis around the story now here's my dilemma, I liked the book I really did I just didn't love it so do I rate it as three or four stars? Well I went with three and this is why:

Was the chemistry there? Yes absolutely but.....

Did they work things out before jumping into bed? NO absolutely not and I think this is where I have my biggest issue. I get the not wanting to keep your hands off one another but there was a big reason as to why you broke up in the first place so the trust is gone and before you have any discussion about it you're fooling around, to me that was just rushed and unnecessary we knew they still cared very deeply for one another so them having sex so quickly to me minimized the reasoning on why they were apart for so long.

Were they keeping Secrets? Of Course there were secrets, some were big and some not so big but a complete shocker none the less. I understand the reasoning behind one but not the other so there's that.

And then there's Hannah's family, for me their story line gave me whiplash, when you read the book you'll understand why.

I recommend this book for lovers of Cowboy/Western Romances, Second Chance Romances, and lovers of Lisa Renee Jones' books. This book is highly rated by other advanced readers and like I said I did enjoy it so I really hope you do grab a copy and give Hannah and Roarke's Christmas Love Story a chance.

Happy Reading!!!
