Sweet and naughty takes a holiday twist. Tangled Up In Christmas melds sentimental with tempting and gets electric. Jones gives her sensitive side free reign to seduce even the hardest of hearts. Roarke and Hannah are a heartache short of heartwarming. He's a heartbreaker with a ton to regret. She's a survivor, who wants to forget. Can the pain of yesterday pave the way for a happier tomorrow? Tangled Up In Christmas is the gift that keeps on giving all year long.

This was a really fun Second chance Christmas story.

Betrayals and lies separated them years ago and a chance at a fresh start draws them back together. But can they overcome their own fears to give it a true try.

I loved the genuine friendship between the main characters and the well developed small town feel really added to the story. The supporting characters made me want more of their stories too. This was my first read from this author and I will be seeking out more.

A great read.

I liked how it is told from both of their points of view. As the book progresses you realise it was family interference that separted them the first time - can they get past that now? Although called tangled up in christmas, it is not an overly festive book which is good.

Also great to see characters from the previous book pop up again, especially Martha!

Looking forward to more books by this author.

This is my first Lisa Renee Jones book and I think I picked the perfect one since second chance romance is my favorite trope. Tangled Up in Christmas is the second in the Texas Heat Series told in dual first person. It stands alone within the Sweetwater world, but has interconnecting characters from the previous book.

Hannah, twenty-one and Roarke, twenty-seven had been lifelong neighbors and engaged until an anonymous email with a video of a beautiful model draped all over Roarke the YouTube "Horse Whisperer" sensation. Hannah, heartbroken ends the engagement and moves to LA to start her photography career. Seven years pass and Hannah's high fashion photography career unfairly goes up in smoke with her bosses bad behavior. Returning home to Sweetwater to begin an event planning business Hannah agrees to work for long time friend Jason and his wife, organizing the Christmas Festival. She must work closely with Roarke who is part of the event. Roarke makes it his mission to rekindle their love. It's clear neither of them have moved on, but explanations are difficult to make the past right.

I love the Sweetwater has the perfect small town feeling with friends and awesome grandmas. There is plenty heartwarming animal goodness. With beautifully written characters and a storyline that was enjoyable to read this was a great holiday story. I'll be reading all the Texas Heat stories.

Second chance to love.

This is the second book in the Texas Heat series, and the story of Rourke, and Hannah. Thinking Rourke had betrayed her, Hannah skipped town, and left her life behind, now six years later, fate has intervened, and she is back home, and right back into the arms of Rourke. But unable to trust Rourke, or her heart, Hannah tries to hide from more heartbreak. But not everything is as it seems, and when some truths are brought to light, Rourke, and Hannah, can finally get their second chance. Great book, this was entertaining, emotional, dramatic, and steamy.

Hannah is back home, and really not thrilled that she runs into her ex as soon as she steps onto home territory. But no matter, she's over him and her heart will just have to remember that. Right? Right...

Roarke has never gotten over losing Hannah, so now that she's back home, he's determined to not only explain what happened all those years ago, but to get her back as well. Will Hannah ever stop running long enough to let Roarke in?

This is a short and sweet holiday second chance love story. I loved Hannah and Roarke together and Roarke is downright swoony! If you want to get in the mood for the holidays, I highly recommend you pick up your own copy of Tangled Up in Christmas.

It's been a long time since I've read LRJ and this blurb made me snap up this holiday story but I just didn't connect with any of the characters.

I loved the animal rescue, the small town vibe, and the holiday festival. There was a lot about this book that I couldn't get past: the, what seemed to me, dismissal of #MeToo and the insinuation that you should always forgive family regardless of their actions were two that I couldn't get over. I never connected to any of the characters- the main ones from this story and the one before it. I think I'll skip the rest of this series.

and Hannah’s book. We got to know Roarke as the horse whisper in The Truth About Cowboys, because he was Jason’s best friend. Roark did not disappoint.

Hannah left her ex and Sweetwater behind seven years ago, but what will happen when she runs right into him. She knows the reason why she left, but does she know exactly what was going on in the picture of Roarke that caused her to leave? I loved that Roarke wasn’t willing to give up on Hannah and a second chance with her.

As a longtime fan of Lisa Renee Jones, it's always a delight to see her versatility. This second chance Western holiday romance may be different from some of her other suspense series, but it's no less enjoyable.

Hannah is back in Texas after her famous LA photographer boss is put out of business from scandal. She starts an event planning business and ends up helping a friend and his wife plan a Christmas festival in her old hometown.

She also runs across her ex-fiance, Roarke. She's kept track of him on YouTube where he is now the Horse Wrangler, but she isn't ready to see him in person again. Hannah still feels the hurt from when they broke up.

Roarke asks Hannah to help with the injured horses he treats at his clinic, and they are soon bonding over animals and memories.

Even buried family secrets can't keep them apart this time. Lisa Renee Jones' trademark smart, feisty women characters are visible here from the young women through the older ladies, and the setting and animals are appealing on many levels. Roarke is a heart-melting persistent cowboy who can also admit what he could have done differently in the past.

This is a fast, feel good story with hot cowboys and lovely animals - what's not to like? A bonus story is even included.

4 stars. Aww, this was a really sweet book. Tangled Up in Christmas is book two in the Texas Heat series. I enjoyed book one, but didn't totally love it. I liked this book much better. This book is Hannah and Rourke's story. Hannah and Rourke grew up together in their small Texas town, Sweetwater. They were friends and, when they got older, that grew into love one summer and an engagement. But it all ended quickly after some family drama and a misunderstanding. Hannah left town and was gone for six years, but now she is back in Texas. Everything has changed. Rourke is now a veterinarian and a Youtube star, the Horse Wrangler, in their small hometown. Hannah is starting her own business as an event planner in Dallas. She is surprised when her first big job brings her back to Sweetwater and back to Rourke. The two of them still have strong feelings for each other and a lot of issues to work out between them, but they can see that they are meant to be together.

I really liked Hannah and Rourke together. Theirs' was a good second chance love story. They had great chemistry and were best friends. This book was the perfect length and amount of angst. The story and writing were very good. I also liked the horses and all the animals included.

Overall, I really enjoyed Hannah and Rourke's journey back to each other. Tangled Up in Christmas is a sexy and sweet small town romance. I still think this series feels very different that anything Lisa Renee Jones has written before, but I enjoyed it anyway. I look forward to more from Ms. Jones in the future.

Bonus book: Santa, Baby

There was a bonus book included in the last 43% of Tangled Up in Christmas. Santa, Baby is a Cinderella-like story between a millionaire businessman and a reserved book store owner. I found it to be a cute, steamy, sweet and sexy read. There was a little added angst from an FBI investigation too. This was a fun bonus story.

"Tangled Up In Christmas" by Lisa Renee Jones

My Rationalization:

This was a good Christmas well-written story of a second chance romance that dealt with Hannah and Roarke. We find that these two were once engaged until everything seemed to go up in smoke with a mess between their families. Hannah leaves her hometown of Sweetwater, Texas now returning after 5 years thinking Roarke had cheated on her, now she is back. Will Roarke be able to prove he was set up? How will these two be able to make things right between them by working together on a Christmas festival for their hometown? This will be a story full of a little bit of it all from 'secrets, anger, sadness, drama, romance, explosive chemistry, conflict with family lies, animals and enduring friendships with some remarkable characters' to give the reader quite an entertaining holiday read. To get it all you will have to pick up "Tangled Up In Christmas" to get all of the above questions answered. And in the end a HEA! Also, this author included a bonus read at the end 'Santa Baby' which was another good holiday read involving Caron & Baxter.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

5 Stars for this book by Lisa Renee Jones! It has all the goods; small town romance, cowboys and Christmas! Roarke and Hannah are wonderful to read about and who doesn't love a Christmas Festival!

3.75 stars--TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult TEXAS HEAT erotic, romance series. This is veterinarian Roarke Frost, and photographer Hannah’s story line. TANGLE UP IN CHRISTMAS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. We were first introduce to Roarke in book one The Truth About Cowboys.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hannah and Roarke) TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS follows the second chance romance and relationship between twenty eight year old photographer Hannah, and thirty four year old veterinarian Roarke Frost. Roarke and Hannah had been best friends all of their lives but seven years earlier betrayal broke Hannah’s heart sending our heroine to Los Angeles, California. Engaged to be married to the man that she loves, Hannah is destroyed when a video surfaces betraying everything she ever loved about Roarke and the small town of Sweetwater, Texas. Fast forward to present day wherein Hannah heads home to Texas in an effort to restart her career, a career destroyed by jealousy and revenge. To Hannah’s surprise and misery, she will come face to face with her past, a past she has never stopped loving but a past she is unable to forgive or forget. Enter veterinarian Roarke Frost. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and romance between Roarke and Hannah, and the potential fall-out when the truth is revealed.

Hannah ran from Sweetwater, Texas in an effort to forget about the man that she loved. Destroyed by betrayal, Hannah struggled to move on with her life, always comparing every man to the one that she lost. Roarke Frost never got the chance to defend himself, and in this, our hero struggled to move on from the past. A successful veterinarian on the horse circuit, Roarke pushed himself in an effort to forget about the woman that ran away.

The relationship between Hannah and Roarke is one of second chances: a rebuilding friendship and romance between two people destroyed by someone else’s vindictiveness, jealousy, greed and anger. The town of Sweetwater, Texas believed that Hannah and Roarke were always meant to be but only a few people knew what happened to destroy their life-long love affair. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Jason and Jessica (The Truth About Cowboys #1); Hannah’s business partner Linda Moore; Roarke’s grandmother Ruth; Jason’s grandmother Martha; Hannah’s parents; Mayor Luke Combs, as well as a number of veterinary interns.

TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS is a story of betrayal and vengeance; forgiveness and moving forward; second chances and love. The premise is sexy and inviting; the characters are flirty and sassy; the romance is spicy and seductive. The angst level is low; there is no suspense or threats from an outside source; the conflict resolution is tender and realistic. TANGLED UP IN CHRISTMAS is a delightful addition to the author’s TEXAS HEAT series.

There is also a surprise addition to the ARC-a copy of a previously released holiday novella SANTA BABY by Lisa Renee Jones

Tangled up in Christmas was a delightful holiday romance. It had endearing characters and a well written storyline. I look forward to reading whatever this talented author writes next. I would definitely recommend this wonderful book.

Second chance romance set during the holiday season.

Roarke and Hannah have a history...bumpy and complicated. As with other second chance romance stories, both MC’s have a lot of mutual baggage...Hannah especially, it seems. Roarke is the confident shining star of the story while Hannah is struggling professionally and personally. Lots of small town antics. Fun bringing in certain family/friends to aid each in their own way.

Who doesn’t love a hot cowboy romance and a Christmas story wrapped up in one? This was a great second chance romance for Roarke and Hannah. The chemistry and the attraction between the couple was so good. The storyline was great and easy to follow. Their relationship ended thanks to a misunderstanding that was never cleared up and now that Hannah is back in town, Roarke is hoping to clear it up. He will do everything in his power to make her realize that she belongs in Sweetwater and with him. Will he succeed in convincing her to stay or is it too late for them both to get what they missed out on?

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

What a great second chance love story that is full of family, forgiveness, romance, and so much more. This is Roarke and Hannah’s story. They grew up together and had a relationship which lead to being engaged. Hannah left the state broken hearted due to a misunderstanding and false information. Now she is back 7 years later, and she finds she is still drawn to him. Roarke wants another chance with Hannah also, and we find that they still have a lot of chemistry together. This was a great story that I recommend.

Here's the scoop. Tangled Up in Christmas should have been right up my alley. Second chance love story, the holiday season, horses.

However, I seriously felt nothing, NOTHING between Hannah and Roarke for a large portion of the book. I didn't feel any chemisty or connection until Chapter 28, and it was killing me. I also didn't really care for Hannah until then either. Frankly, I don't know how I even held out that long and kept reading.

Once I felt that connection between them, Hannah and Roarke's story finally picked up, and I enjoyed the rest of the book. There was even a part that could've been made into a big old drama-fest, and it wasn't! That was perfect for me.

Roarke had been Hannah’s babysitter at one time having been six years older than her. Hannah and Roarke had been best friends all their lives. And fell in love and became engaged to marry. She had been the girl next store and knew Roarke better than anyone. Than Hannah got an email with a beautiful model hanging all over Roarke. Roarke had been a YouTube sensation as “ the Horse Wrangler”. Hannah couldn't forgive his cheating and called off the engagement and never let Roarke even try to explain. Than she ;left Sweetwater-their hometown- and went to LA seven years ago. She worked as a high fashion photographer. Than her boss got caught up in a scandal and she was blacklisted unfairly as well. Hannah moved back to texas and started an event planning business. Linda was a photographer from Dallas who became hannah’s business partner. When Linda got injured she took a job for Linda. Hannah goes to the event and meets up with an old friend Jason- who is Roarke’s best friend. Jason’s fiance wants Hannah to do the planning for the event they are launching. It is in Sweetwater. It is to be a Christmas festival. She would have to spend a lot of time with roarke as he was part of the committee. Roarke was now a veterinarian now. Hannah literally runs into Roiarke at the airport. Hannah tries to stay away from Roarke both physically and emotionally Hannah nor Roarke had ever got over each other.
I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy heartwarming second chance romance. I would have liked to see more of Hannah and Roarke working on their issues. There was a lot of back and forth in this book but in the end it was worth it. I loved the ending. I advise you to read the first book in this series for a smoother read. I loved how everyone in the town pitched in to help Hannah’s ideas happen. I cheered Roarke and Hannah on. I loved Roarke and hannah’s relationship and he could finally tell her the truth. Hannah and roarke definitely had great chemistry. I wish I could rate this 4..5. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
