A second chance love story about forgiveness, family, and little dash of the holiday spirit.
Tangled up in the past. Tangled up in the present. Tangled up in their jobs, family, friends, etc…. Roarke and Hannah are simply put just tangled.
How do you separate your feelings from the now and then when you’ve never had closure? Especially when you aren’t able to tell the one you love the whole truth as to why you let them walk out of your life?
How do you separate your feelings when you still love the person you left, but also hate the person standing in front of you at the same time?
Tangled is such a good way to describe the way Roarke and Hannah’s lives have become. Untangling their lives from one another isn’t easy. There isn’t just the two of them involved, it’s basically the entire town of Sweetwater when it comes down to it. The good news is the longer they are back in each other’s presence they aren’t exactly sure they want to untangle their tangled up life.
If you’ve read Jason and Jessica’s story, you’ll get to see a lot of them, as Jason is Roarke’s best friend and Hannah grew up with his family too. If you didn’t read the first book, you’ll have no trouble jumping into this second one, they are independent stories from each other. There is also breadcrumbs into who our next bachelor of Sweetwater could possibly be. I’m excited to return and see this growing family.

An entertaining, fun read. This is a follow up to the “Truth About Cowboys” book. Enjoy this horse whisperer story wound around Roarke and Hannah, a couple with a past. There is drama, misunderstandings, romance, stirred together with family lies and the requisite HEA. Also included in this book is the novella “Santa Baby”, another good read. Add this to your TBR list.

As usual, Lisa delivers hot, sexy, exciting stories. The characters are amazing and they keep you turning pages to keep up with them.

What a delicious, angsty, 2nd chance romance for Hannah and Roark. I loved everything about this book and all of the emotions it brought...anger, sadness, heart ache, explosive chemistry, a love that could not be denied and the truth for all of that pain. Lisa Renee Jones books always gets me right in the heart!!😍😍😍😍😍

Tangled Up In Christmas is the second book in the Texas Heat series by Lisa Renee Jones and is a charming holiday romance. A story of second chances that is sure to warm your heart and tug at your heartstrings. While this is part of the Texas Heat series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. The characters are witty, humorous, relatable, and surrounded by an interesting set of supporting characters. Set in Texas, Tangled Up In Christmas makes for a festive Texan holiday read. You will get pulled into the story from the beginning and become more invested with each page you read. Tangled Up In Christmas is a lovely holiday read that is sure to remind you of the true meaning of the season.

Great second chance story
I generally don’t like second chance romance because I like to read about the couple first meeting and their reactions to one another. What brought them together, do they instantly hate each other or are they attracted to each other, or both? However I decided to read this one because I like Lisa Renee Jones’ writing. She always has both steamy romance and a good storyline to go with it. I wasn’t disappointed here.
This was the story of Hannah and Roarke who were engaged seven years prior until Hannah got an anonymous email showing a fashion model hanging all over Roarke. She couldn’t take the fact that he was cheating, when he meant everything to her and She wouldn’t forgive cheating. So she broke the engagement and moved from Texas to Los Angeles to make something of herself far away from Roarke and the heartache.
Hannah worked with a high fashion photographer and he ended up getting unfairly blacklisted as part of the “Me Too” movement. So Hannah moved back to Texas to start her own event planning business. She rented an office from a friend of hers, Linda a photographer in Dallas and when Linda got injured Hannah offered to take the photography appointment that night.
Hannah goes to an event where she reconnects with an old friend, Jason from the small town where she grew up and Roarke is involved as well. Jason’s fiancé proposes that Hannah do the planning for the event they are launching, which will be awesome for her business, but she will have to spend time with Roarke because he is one of the facilitators of the event.
Hannah and Roarke haven’t gotten over each other and they go from estranged to entangled in no time. The romance is hot, Roarke is a great guy and a hot Horse Wrangler and Veterinarian. He is a great book boyfriend. There is a mystery as to what happened between him and that model 7 years ago. The book was very good and it had animals, rockin’ grandmas and nice feeling of small town Texas.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a contemporary romance from Lisa Renee Jones. This is not her usual fare as it is romance with no suspense. I love that Lisa is versatile and can write other genres. We met Roarke in the first book as Jason's friend. Hannah is a long lost love that you wonder for most of the book what happened to these two to break them up. While this book is not quite a funny as the first one, it is a second chance romance with no angst. There's a bonus story (nothing to do with this series) that's included. I enjoyed reading this and I hope there's more in this series. I received an advance copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Lisa Renee Jones has done it again. This series is hot.
This book is the perfect read on those cooler fall days that are coming. It will warm you up for sure. The story moves along at the perfect reading speed, not too fast nor too slow. Just the perfect speed to make it a very enjoyable read. The characters are amazing, you cannot help but fall in love with them and once you do, you will want to know more about them and wish that you were there with them. The story will grab you from the very first word and not let go until you have finished the very last word and then you are wanting more. This has to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it. So add it now.

I absolutely loved Hannah and Roarke's story! So much happening in this story, such a page turner.
Thanks Netgalley for the Arc

I received this book as an ARC and it was such a page turner that I could not out it down! This book is the 2nd book in the series in Sweetwater TX and while it's not Lisa's normal writing genre, she knocked it out if the park. This book tells of the list live between Roarke and Hanna and you dint know if they will be able to trust in each other again to find their way back to each other. While you finally understand what divided these two love birds, it was a great reas to watch them fall all over in love again. Great job Lisa!!!! Would love to see the story continue with others from Sweetwater!

I love Roarke and Hannah. Their love story is sweet, heartwarming, and not the easiest to get to. Betrayal, misunderstandings, and forgiveness all play a huge role. I was fascinated by Roarke in the first book and his story was more than I could have imagined. These characters feel like friends and everyone needs a Martha and Ruth. I particularly enjoyed the catch up with Jessica and Jason. Sweetwater is an endearing setting. The ending is perfect and the added bonus story was a pleasant surprise.

We are back in Sweetwater, TX where everyone knows everyone else, and where Roarke Frost and Hannah grew up. The year she finished college and he veterinarian school, they fell in love and got engaged. But a video went viral implying Roarke had cheated on her . She left for LA hurt and didn’t look back.
But fate brings her back after six years, and the secrets Roarke has kept will need to be revealed, but there will be consequences.
It’s a story about secrets, misunderstandings and second chances.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Sweet second chance romance with a surprising almost clean twist. No angst like I was expecting. Plus a second story attached.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m so used to reading her stories with a bit of mystery and suspense that I was surprised with the second chance romance. I kept waiting for the bad; the angst, but it never really came.
This story is a heartfelt romance about two people that truly should’ve never been apart. But other people got in the way.
But now they’re working on reconnecting and finding their future again.
I love the theme of this story and I had this perfect vision of Roarke in my mind the whole time I was reading this book. He is a beautiful character and is completely over the top gone for Hannah.
This book is heavy on the romance, forgiveness, and even the heated scenes are mild enough to almost be a clean romance.
Definitely a cute Texas style romance story which is something I never thought I would say about a Jones book. Delightful, entertaining, with a fabulous happily ever after!
-- Also while I love this cover, it does not fit the theme of this book. The paperback publication cover is a better fit.
With a little bit of angst, some homecoming feels, and a lot of secrets, this was a great second chance story.
Years ago, Roarke broke Hannah’s heart which resulted in the break up of their engagement. Now she’s returned to Texas and is soon thrust back into his world. While she loves all that he does to protect and ensure the safety of the animals he takes under his care, she struggles to keep her distance both physically and emotionally. But Roarke is refusing to let her go again despite the fact that when she learns the truth, he will lose her for good.
’It’s memories and love and passion. It’s everything we were, which was everything.’
I enjoyed watching Hannah come to some realizations regarding her state of maturity from her before time with Roarke to the present. I love when a character is able to decipher their own actions and reactions and the reasoning behind them. And Hannah more than made up for her past reactions when it mattered most.
While we don’t get a lot of Roarke’s point of view, we get enough to know that Hannah is his everything. His life is dedicated to taking care of animals and that character trait also ensures that he takes care of those he loves. Even when doing so goes against what his heart wants.
’He’s an alpha. He’s in control, and yet. He makes me feel like I’m in control.’
While this is low on drama, it is rich in relationship angst. Both Roarke and Hannah have their own struggles and fears to work through. The secrets Roarke is keeping helps to drive the story forward as the time for revealing them draws closer. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure how all of that was going to play out and that amped up the angst a bit more.
This is a great homecoming story with lots of small town, feel good moments and all the warm feelings of being welcomed home again after living for years with a devastating loss. There are plenty of heartwarming moments with Roarke’s horses that will definitely stroke every animal lover’s heart. I did feel the lack of real couple time with these characters and would have liked to see them working their issues out face to face a bit more. But this author excels at character introspection and such is the case here as well.
Included is a great treat, Santa Baby.
I couldn’t wait too read Roarke’s story and I wasn’t disappointed at all. If you love a good second chance romance read then you will love Roarke and Hannah’s story. Roarke is so sweet and genuine and will definitely become your next book boyfriend. Another amazing read and of course characters that you will love.
"I lost him before I lost him, or what went down would not have gone down."
I'm so addicted to this new Texas Heat series. I'd say it's up there at the very top of my favorites from this author. Yes, I'm from Texas, but that's not why. There are lots of reasons, including the amazing cast of characters in Sweetwater, Texas. And they aren't just cowboys either. Nope, we got pro baseball players, horse wranglers, yoga enthusiasts, and cookie-baking grandmas.
I am enjoying the hell out of the mishaps and misadventures these fun ladies fall into. The witty banter and drunk adventures are noteworthy as well. And don't get me started on the sexy cowboys who know how to handle a horse and a woman. "He's not a man who demands unless we're naked, and that's a different ball game. That's the balance that is this man. He's an alpha. He's in control, and yet, he makes me feel like I'm in control. He makes the animals he works with feel they're in control when it's him with the control."
But it's not all fun. There are secrets and sorrow hidden behind their smiles. It's obvious to everyone that they still have feelings for each other. It drove me crazy trying to figure out what went wrong and how it could be fixed. I wanted Grandma to bake up some magic cookies that would make everything okay. But, "Sometimes love isn't enough."
Trust me, you will be planning a visit to Sweetwater to attend the Christmas Festival once you get a gander at the eye-candy. I'm already saving up in case there's a bachelor auction. It's for a good cause, right? The line forms here...
A sweet second chance small town romance with a little steamy on the side and lots of family and friendship surrounding it.
Light in plot.
Fast pace chemistry.
A really hot horse whisperer.
This book is perfect for layback time
With every story that Lisa Renee Jones writes she brings the characters to life with such ease, you can't help but fall in love with each and every one them!
Hannah and Roake where engaged at one time when everything was a mess between their family but Hannah knew nothing about but thought Roake cheated on her, so she left.
Now she's back and ready to tackle anything!
Will Hannah and Roake get their happily ever after or will her parents put an end to it before it even begins?
Roarke made quite the impact in The Truth About Cowboys. He was such a good friend to Jason, helping him straighten up before he lost Jessica, and then add in a that he is a veterinarian who loves animals? How could you not love him.
Roarke was everything I thought he would be in this book. I loved his character and I loved how he handled Hannah and the reason they were separated in the first place. All I could think about was Hannah is probably kicking herself for not standing by him. I know I would have been.
We get some back in forth in the beginning of this because Hannah isn't willing to get past her hurt. Roarke wasn't willing to give up and made all that back and forth worth every minute. This was a great little holiday read with a beautiful ending. I wouldn't be opposed to more books in this world. I can name a few cowboys that need a story of their own.
We have Rourke’s story and who better for the famous horse wangler, his very own one true love. Rourke never forgot his childhood friend and sweetheart and not she’s back in Sweetwater and he is determined to make her his for good.
Hannah is bound and determined to stay away from the man who broke her heart, but soon begins to realize that maybe she was a little wrong as her heart begins to thaw toward that handsome cowboy.
With fall descending upon us, this was the perfect read. By Lisa Renee Jones, it was just icing on the cake pops!
