Esme's world has crashed around her, so she heads home to lick her wounds. Meeting up with old flame Joe is an added bonus. A good 2nd chance story set at Christmas. Good story overall, and I like this author, but must admit this wasn't my favorite by her. Had a little trouble liking the characters, which slowed me down a bit and skimmed at times. Would give 3.5 overall. Would still recommend.

Thank you to the publisher for my eARC copy of this book. Unfortunately I didn’t love this book and therefore didn’t finish, I just didn’t connect with this one. Not for me, sorry.

I fell in love with Esme, and loved being with her as she pieced her life back together. This is a scrumptious festive read, and Katie Ginger has proven again that she is the Queen of the slow-burn romance. Highly recommended.

I love a good Christmas read, and this one was so enjoyable! This is a great second chance romance book. This book will get you in the mood for the holidays. The characters are great, and it is so charming. I recommend checking it out!

Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I am a fan of books in this genre, so I was very much looking forward to reading this one. I was not dissapointed and both the plot and characters gripped me from the start. I will definitley aim to read another by this author. Highly reccomended!

This was my first book by Katie Ginger and I really enjoyed it! I liked all the characters (apart from the ones you weren’t supposed to like), I liked the story, I liked the writing - thoroughly enjoyed it all. NetGalley has approved my requests for a couple of other books by Katie and I genuinely can’t wait to read them.

I enjoyed this Christmas read about a food technologist who has lost everything - her job, her boyfriend, and her home - abs moves back to her hometown. I really enjoyed the blogging aspect that she started while living back home and the recipes that she was cooking were fun! All of the characters I really enjoyed as well. This is a perfect read for Christmas time!

Not for me. I struggled to get into it and as a result didn’t really enjoy it all that much unfortunately

Liked this book - nice characters, nice friends, not portraying perfect lives by any means - fun and easy to read.

This is a perfect book for the holiday season, packed with Christmas love and cheer. I truly enjoyed reading this book because it upped my mood and spirits and helped me remember the reason and magic of the holiday season. I would highly recommend adding this book to your holiday reading list; it is like reading a Hallmark movie! This book is seriously adorable and will have you swooning over your peppermint hot chocolate!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.
After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.
I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.
Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

On a grey London day, Esme’s world crumbles around her when she loses her glitzy job on a top TV programme, her gorgeous, city-slicker boyfriend and her stunning apartment, all in one fell swoop just before Christmas.
Esme is forced suddenly to move back to her sleepy home town of Sandchester, and despite the snow blanketing the roof and the fairy lights that twinkle in her rustic little cottage, everything is looking bleak. That is until she reconnects with an old crush and finds herself unexpectedly getting swept away.
But Joe, handsome and charming as he is, is not all he seems. Esme soon realises that he has a tragic past which he just might not be able to overcome…
Surrounded by her loving, if hare-brained, family and with the support of her hilarious friends, Esme is determined to have a go at forging her own path, even if it all comes to nothing. But one question still lingers in her mind: will she find someone to kiss under the mistletoe this Christmas?

This book was such a great, holiday read! its definitely going to be a book I pick up again at Christmas! Its cute, heartfelt, endearing.. I just really loved it!

A feel good cozy cozy read. Bringing you right into the story, you relate with the characters and feel like you're in the story. The story is full of hope, determination and love.

When Esme is sacked from her job as a food technologist on a prestige TV show she is gutted.... her recipe was stolen by the show presenter who tried to pass it off as her own and the producers believed her rather than Esme. Then she gets dumped by her boyfriend and has to go back home to Sandchester and her parents feeling a total failure! Needing somewhere to live she rents the rundown Mistletoe cottage which doesn't even have any heating and reconnects with Joe who she knew from school. With some help from her London friends she sets up a vlog but can she really move on and make a life here or will the bright lights still be beckoning and what about the ex who regrets his actions?
A lovely warm book, you are really rooting for Esme from the beginning and I loved the way all her friends from London would come down on mass to support her. Perfect book to curl up in front of a fire with

I received this in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Who doesn't love a Christmas story, whatever the time of the year? They are the ultimate feel good stories and a bit of festive Christmas romance never goes amiss.
I genuinely enjoyed this story and would definitely consider picking up another novel by the delightful Katie Ginger in the future.

Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage was a great feel good Christmassy read, I loved it and struggled to put it down. Esme faced each of the obstacles in her way, not giving up hope or determination and staying positive. A fab book.

I really enjoyed this book! A great story line that kept me hooked and excellent main characters. I would highly recommend this book.

If you’re looking for something sweet, having cooking at the heart, a bit of baking and set during the Christmas season. Then this is the book for you.
It made my giggle and cringe but isn’t that what we all love about a good romance. Yes, the plot was a tad basic and predictable but that’s kind of what made me love it.
Take your mind of the craziness that is the world at the moment and fill yourself with a bit of Christmas spirit (even if it is March 😂)

Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage
by Kate Ginger
If you enjoy a book that starts with personal disaster and ends in triumph, a tale with sadness underlying humor, and a story that emphasizes the good in people, you will have an enjoyable read with Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage. Esme Kendrick is a food technologist; she creates the delectable dishes shown on the famous Felicity Fenchurch’s cooking show. Esme’s life is headed for disaster, however, when she stands up against the theft of her beloved grandmother’s recipes and her long time boyfriend has a less than pleasant surprise for her—all in the same day.
She heads home to Sandchester in defeat, but regroups determined to find success. Fortunately, her lovable and crazy (in a fun way) parents are supportive as are a small group of quirky friends who drive in from London periodically. Esme is a likable character, but you may find yourself yelling at her periodically to stop as she heads for catastrophe.
Will she return to her controlling ex-boyfriend? Can she help her teenage crush recover from a past that haunts him? Is it possible to create a successful blog and find happiness outside of bustling London? Can Esme layer up enough clothes to survive the winter in quaint, but unheated Mistletoe Cottage? Join a cadre of happy readers as you immerse yourself in this Christmasy read that is perfect for any season of the year.

Memorable Lines:
This was why Esme loved cooking so much. It was history, their history. It meant her grandma who had helped her through so much, whose loss she had felt so deeply, would never be forgotten if her recipes were still being cooked, and the love that went into them still existed.
“If I lived near him I’d key his car—” “He doesn’t own a car, Mum. No one does in London.” “Well then, I’d put itching powder in his underpants and cut the arms and legs off all his suits.” Esme suppressed a smile. “Has Dad only stayed married to you all these years because he’s too scared to leave?”
Life was a large dark hole that she was falling deeper and deeper into, and at the moment there didn’t seem to be a bottom, or a way back to the top. She was just tumbling endlessly downwards.
