This was an amazingly fast-paced read. I thought I had it figured out and about halfway through I was SO shocked at a twist that even I didn’t see coming. Rona Halsall is a master of the crime thrillers with psychological undertones it seems. This book has made it into my top reads of the year and is definitely up there with the successful publications of 2019. Even better is the fact that I haven’t read any of Rona Halsall’s other books and therefore have such a pile of treats on my to be read list!

What a great book -starts slowly and build to an explosive ending. Martha lives with her alcoholic manipulative. Other who is forever upending them and moving to yet another anonymous area. When Martha discovers her missing father the story becomes twisty and surprising and the reader is left wondering where the truth really lies. Thoroughly good read!

I wasn’t really wowed by this book. It was slow in some parts and didn’t really stand out for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review

Yet another outstanding book by Rona Halsall! Her Mother's Lies is fast-paced, gripping, and utterly intriguing. Full of twists and characters that draw you in. I stayed up reading this book more times than I can count, desperate to finish just one more page.

Wow, what a book!!!!! This was my first book by this author and it sure did not disappoint.

This book was about a young woman trying to figure out who she was. Martha was told a man named Greg was her father all her life but that was a lie. There were many lies told to her by her mom. Martha had to find the courage to face these lies and her mother in order for her to find the real truth about herself.

I want to start off by saying that the book did start off very slow and you might not like Martha very much. Martha at the very beginning was very timid and did not stick up for herself especially when it came to her mother. By the end of the book though she did find her voice and I ended up liking her very much. Martha’s mother is not very likable either but does redeem herself as well at the end. She finally told Martha the truth and realized how wrong she was to hide it from her. I do want to talk about the ending cause that was what made the book. I never saw all the twists and turns coming that this book had in store. It was like I was on a roller coaster ride that I never wanted to get off from. I was truly shocked by what happened and the truths that came out that I could not believe what I was reading. The ending was definitely worth the wait.

Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My first book by Rona and I was not disappointed! Martha’s mother has been lying to her her whole life - she quickly discovers that the man she grew up knowing as Dad was not in fact her father. It is with this discovery that Martha’s life takes a turn and she begins to question more about her past. What is truth and what was lies? The book is full of twists - I guessed one or two along the way however this did not make me enjoy it any less. The book is written in both past and present from Martha and Frans (Martha’s mother) perspectives giving snippets of clues along the way. Just who can she trust?. Brilliantly written and I just loved the ending. I cannot wait to read more from Rona!

A fantastic fast paced psychological / domestic thriller with plenty of clever twists.

Martha is in what seems to be a happy relationship and is a mother to Fran. That until one day the father disappears without any explanation.

Years later Martha sets out to confront the father and set the record straight for once and for all. But is she really ready to face the brutal truth? Read to find out how this addictive thriller comes to a climatic end.

Thanks Netgalley, Bookouture, and Rona Halsall for an ARC in exchange for a fair review.

A good read that held my interest throughout with plenty of twists and turns, very well written with good characters.

If I am to be honest I enjoyed The Honeymoon far better than this one but that is purely my opinion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

A few words come to mind after reading Her Mother’s Lies- gripping, intriguing, & mind blowing! I love Roma Halsall’s writing style & the way the story starts off with a bang. The entire time I was reading, I was guessing what would happen, only to be proven wrong, I highly recommend Her Mother’s Lies and am thankful to Net Galley for an advanced copy.

Thank you to Bookouture and Net Galley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. Wow! This book kept me guessing until the end (which was very exciting). When Martha was nine, her father walked out on his family. Now, fifteen years later, Martha confronts him. Much to her surprise, he tells her that he is not her father. So begins an exciting story, where Martha discovers her life has been based on lies. Lots of twists and lots of action in this story. Highly recommend!

Her Mother's Lies is a fast and twisty read that starts off with a bang and keeps the momentum throughout the book.

Martha, Fran, Izzie and Anna take centre stage in this psychological thriller that explores the lengths a mother will go to save her children. As the book progressed, I was able to figure out most of the major twists before they happened, but the quick pace of the book kept me engaged and it was satisfying figuring them out!

Recommend for readers who enjoy psychological thrillers that focus on family dysfunction, deceit and lies. Sometimes the truth is scarier than the lie....

I look forward to reading more of Rona Halsall's work.

Thank you to #netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
