I guess I'm over the whole innocent girl wins over the CEO trope. Still this did it alot better she wasn't completely innocent and the story kept pretty steaming till the end. Still I've got to admit the constant screaming and fighting cannot be seriously thought to be healthy right? At least one has to know when to take control of the situation. I felt like the anger problems between them were never solved although I am happy they found their happily ever after. I got to admit my favorite character was Tristan and would love to know his story of happily ever after.

Meeting a handsome, sexy and swoon worthy man on a long flight is the stuff dreams are made of...especially when that dream continues

I loved the banter, comments and style these two have with each other. Jameson and Emily is red hot chemistry.

This book is definitely a good read, and will keep you on the edge of your seat then whole way through!

Okay so, this book is pretty addictive. And my first TL book.

I’ve been reading reviews about her books and some people don’t like them.

Well I’m here to tell there’s no OW drama or a doormat heroine here. Nope she’s pretty kickass at giving the hero hell! When they fight it’s 100x funny.

But . . .

Isn’t there always one, their fights are kind of petty and immature but . . . Ah ha there’s a butt again.

There is a bit of drama but it has nothing to do with another woman or man for that matter.

I thoroughly enjoyed these two characters.

Here’s why:

These two have a meet cute and it starts a passion that you know is coming.

Emily is a investigative journalist. And on her way home from a wedding when she meets a man in first class.

Jim is not entirely how she expected him to be. He’s carefree and handsome. They ending up spending the night together. But never expect to see each other again until she they see each other again a year later.

Miles Media is the largest media company in the US. Her career is going to take off or so she thinks until she meets the CEO. Her one-night stand is none other than Jim.

Knocking both of them for a loop, the navigate the cesspool of knowing they have been intimate with each other. That doesn’t stop Jim from pursuing her into a FWB relationship.

But is that truly achievable? Idk. You know what to do to find out.

Let me tell you about the hero, Jim. He is not your typical rich egoistical manwhore. Once he’s in it, he’s in it. There are no ifs ands or buts. He doesn’t sleep around or cheat. And I really liked that about him.

“I could be anything, Emily Foster . . . as long as I’m with you.”

Yes. Oh FYI: he’s not a camping person. That was funny.

Book Review : The Stopover by T.L.Swan

Received ARC of the book from NetGalley.

This is the first book I read of the author and I don’t regret it.

Emily and Jim meet in a flight, flirt and spend a night together. Cut to a year later, Emily meets her new Boss Jamison Miles. Jim hasn’t still got over her and Emily is stuck between her attraction for her boss and keeping her mind sane.

Emily is feisty. I like that bit, but bits where her attraction to Jim blinding her rationality is not smoothly done. Jamison is typical alpha male, want to slap but want to kiss kinda guy (slap more than kiss).

If the romance bit was more tasteful, I would have enjoyed more.

I am always gripped by TL Swan's stories and The Stopover is another winner. The plot is super sexy, angsty, funny, infuriating and clever. I laughed, cried and held my breath in anticipation while devouring the words. You will want to read every word to find out how it works out; it is a very compelling story.

The characters are real and frustrating; as are a lot of people I know but, they both have valid reasons for being frustrating so I forgive them and love them. Emily and Jameson are absolutely zinging with sexual attraction and fit together perfectly... for one night. How exciting to have a steamy night with such sexual chemistry! When they meet again, it’s still there but things just keep happening to cause drama, doubt and heartache. What more could you ask for in a book?

I simply can’t wait for other Jameson’s brother's stories. These brothers are super sexy and full of character. Well done TL Swan, you’ve done it again.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. This is the first book in The Miles High Club. This story is about CEO Jim and sweet and lovely Emily who were met at the flight stopover. They felt an instant attraction, they spend some great time together and they moved on with their lives. They met again when Emily started to work in his Miles Media. They still have a strong connection and chemistry but Jim is not the same guy she met. He is rude and spiled snob, he drives me crazy with his bossy attitude and I'd rather slapped him. Emily is a great girl, I love her honesty and this book deserves 4 stars. Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this opportunity.

2.5 / 5 stars
I received a copy through netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own

Jameson and Emily meet on an overseas flight. There is instant attraction, flirting, and humour. After a memorable layover for both of them, they go their separate ways.

A year later Emily has moved across the country and starting a new job at Miles Media. Much to her surprise, the CEO of the company is none other than Jameson.

My most favourite part was the camping trip part; I only wish that it would have been fleshed out a bit more. Have them spend the whole weekend in the tent...

Emily and Jameson have this intense push-pull connection. At first it was endearing, but I got tired of their constant bickering, and need to be in control. They would connect, someone would say something that pissed off the other person, and then there was anger and tears and swearing. It seemed really unhealthy.

Great new novel by T L Swan that captivates, and enchants from page one with a rollercoaster romance, some incredibly cliche' but adorable side-line characters, a high-stakes intrigue plot, and some serious sizzle! You might want to save this one for reading at home!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters in The Stopover. The character development felt real, and the flow from Emily's POV to Jameson's POV was effortless and refreshing. The plot moved along at a good pace and kept my interest throughout. The mystery aspect was definitely an added bonus, although I did feel like there were some missed opportunities where that was concerned.

I don't want to give anything more away about the story than what is in the description blurb. I would recommend this book to a friend and look forward to the next book in the series.

5 Miles-High Club Stars ⭐

When upgraded to first class after an incident at the airport, Emily Foster wasn't prepared for her seating companion Jim. Sitting next to an older, rich and gorgeous man, she is totally bewildered when he takes a genuine interest in her.

Not one to be spontaneous, she finds herself having the best sex of her life during a layover after far too many complimentary champagnes and flirtation that Emily hadn’t expected to lead to anything.

"I'm not this kind of girl", I remind him.

"I know", he breathes. "I wouldn't want to corrupt you."

"But there is a drought", I whisper. "So... so dry."

After their one-night stand, they part ways no strings. Fast forward twelve months, Emily lands what she believes is her dream job at Miles Media as a journalist. She is shocked to learn that she now works under CEO Jameson Miles, who is none other than hot fantasy Jim. But the fun-loving sex God has been replaced with an arrogant player demanding a repeat, and who she repeatedly wants to smack.

"Answer your fucking phone."

Find someone else in a grey skirt to suck your dick on demand. I'm not interested in the position."

Well damn, Jameson and Emily were totally combustible in each other's company. Between their bickering that was genuinely maddening and borderline insanity, the push and pull of their attraction, drove me to drink. Fortunately, this story redeems itself with the sexual tension and innuendos that were off the charts hot and so deliciously filthy. The bedroom dirty talk from both Jameson and Emily was commendable.

"Nobody has ever ridden my cock the way she did, not before, not since. Not ever."
The hickey on my neck wasn't the only thing she branded me with that night."

The Stopover is going to piss a lot of people off. With a hero that's an asshole who can't commit and a heroine that can't decide whether she's in or out, will frustrate many. As for me, I loved TL Swan's stories, and this was no different. I couldn't put it down and had no issues with the drama while fanning myself.

‘Arc’ provided by Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a delightfully engaging, deliciously sexy, heartbreakingly painful, and wonderfully fun read! Whew! If that isn’t enough to let you know I loved this book, I just don’t have the words.

’I’ve died and gone to layover bad-girl heaven.’

This was first and foremost a fun read as Emily and Jameson bounce back and forth between intense sexual chemistry and what some might consider all-out war. Their banter was sharp and quick making me smile and laugh. And when they were in the throes of battle it was border line antagonistic and sometimes even mean. It was absolutely perfect.

While Jameson could really serve out a dishing of cold attitude, Emily was more than capable of counteracting it. She was quick to let him know what she thought of him when he acted this way. I adored her for it.

The first part of this book is filled with delicious smexy times mixed with arguments the likes I’ve never read before. But they are constantly moving forwards in their rather bizarre way. The last ¾ is when things take a turn and the angst is ramped up. So much begins to happen that I could not put this book down and found myself staying up until 3:00 a.m. to find out what was going to happen.

I did struggle some over Jameson’s behavior towards the end, and there were times that the character motivation for such actions seem to be a bit all over the place. The plotline during these times just felt somewhat loose and I would have liked things to have a tighter pull to them.

Either way, I still absolutely loved these characters and this story as a whole. I was completely engaged the entire time and it stirred pretty much every emotion that can be stirred in a romance. I really can’t express how much I enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series!

I started off really enjoying this book, but as it progressed, too many little things popped up that made it hard to like the characters. Jameson's personality was all over the place. Half of the time he acted like a petulant child, then he'd switch to alpha male to sweet lover and back again. It wasn't cohesive or believable. The way he treated Emily near the 3/4 was awful and the fact that she was so willing to go back with him after a little groveling didn't show a healthy relationship, especially because they only dated for three months- sometimes it's okay to move on. Jameson's brother, Tristan, was probably my favorite character. I believe his book is next and I though Swan's writing was good enough that I will probably pick it up. I just hope our characters are a little better developed.

What a roller coaster of a story. The chemistry between Emily and Jameson is off the charts and this book is super hot. It’s full of emotion and angsty. Some of the dialogue was overly cheesy though and at times the characters acted like teenagers. There’s a lot of eye rolling and I definitely wanted to smack them both several times. But this story is drama, drama, drama. I enjoyed the ridiculousness though and I’m definitely gonna check out more from this author.

Hot, funny, The Stopover has all of the feels! I couldn’t put this book down! I was sucked in and read it all in one sitting. Loved it.

This was my first book by the author, and will be reading more. I think she could be popular with our customers. Loved the secondary characters and the dynamics of friendship they brought to the storyline. Several good moments of interaction that had humor intertwined with romance. Not over the top steamy but maybe think twice before recommending to more conservative readers.

The Stopover is my first book by T.L Swan, but it certainly won't be my last. As it was such a well written, well paced, and brilliantly enjoyable story. With strong, realistic characters, sharp banter, and a plot line that balanced perfectly the sizzling heat Jameson and Emily generated with everything else it had going on. Including an interesting minor storyline involving a rival media mogul. Still, I must admit to finding this story a bit too long and the ending a touch abrupt and flat compared to the rest of it. Yet, nonetheless it was a totally engrossing and entertaining read. With a unique proposal that will remain with me for a long time. And it certainly kept me up far too late, which is never a bad thing in my book.

I would happily recommend it to others.

Clever and Captivating New York Romance.

This my perfect romance novel. It had just about everything I look for in a great romance and rated a 5 in just about every one of those categories. It had plenty of steam between the two main characters, dirty talk, witty repartee, bickering between the strong female heroine and the Alpha male Hero, jealously, an intriguing plot with a mystery, awesome supporting characters and more. The writing was terrific the flow and timing was excellent with no long periods where I was waiting for something to happen. I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance.

It says is is over 500 pages but it truthfully felt like only a few hundred and I rarely say that, it ever. This book went very fast with a lot of laugh out loud moments, sexy scenes and a great background storyline. It starts out with Emily Foster having a terrible day as she waits in line at the airport to check in for her flighty New York. She ends up getting bumped up to first class which has never happened before and though the guy sitting next to her let’s her have the window seat, he just won’t shut up and annoys her.

However, after talking and drinking champagne throughout the entire flight the two have become friendly. They are unable to land in New York where she has a job interview, and instead are routed to Boston for a night due to a snowstorm. After her only one night stand and the best time she has ever had, her traveling companion Jim leaves in the morning without ever asking for her number.

Fast forward one year and Emily has now had that interview at her dream job and moves to New York. On her first day at work, she meets the CEO of the company, Jameson Miles, her former one night stand. Jameson wants to pick up where they left off because he is intensely attracted to Emily. Though Emily is put off with the fact that he never even bothered to ask for her phone number. She has a boyfriend and is not interested in a few nights of fun at the expense of her dream job.

Oh my God. I have a boyfriend. Shit. “I’m so sorry if I gave you the wrong idea.” I take a step back from him. “I have a boyfriend,” I blurt out.
His face falls in horror. “What?”
“I know.” I wince. “I . . . I . . .” I shake my head because I have no words that can get me out of this. “I have a boyfriend, and I can’t go out with you.”
“Dump him,” he fires back.
“What?” I croak.
“You heard me. Dump him.” He reaches for me.

The way Jameson goes about getting Emily to agree to go out with him is pretty funny. He is a wealthy handsome Alpha male who has never heard the word “no”. So he has no idea of boundaries and it is entertaining to say the least. There is also a mystery in the office as someone In Emily’s work area is selling company secrets to the biggest competitor, who happens to be Miles’ nemesis. Emily figures out what is going on so is brought in with Jameson and his brother Tristan to help.

Tristan is one of three of Jameson’s brothers and is the head of Acquisitions at Miles Media in New York, while Elliot and Christopher both work out of the London office. Tristan is the nice guy to Jameson’s Cranky brooding type, but they work well together and Tristan plays a big part in this book. The other two do make an appearance though.

I roll my eyes in disgust. “The Miles brothers are overrated, if you ask me.”
They’re not, though. I’m lying through my teeth. All with dark hair, tall, and built . . . square jaws in their designer playboy suits. Everything about the four of them screams power and gorgeousness. Assholes.

At the end of The Stopover, we get the first Chapter of The Takeover, book 2 in the Miles High Club. If you haven’t yet guessed, since Tristan is the head of Acquisitions, this is his story and I for one, can’t wait.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
