I enjoyed this book. The illustrations have great color and are true to the characters. The story it nice and go well with the characters I know from the wonderful movie too. I want to reach the other books that go with the story too so I know more of the story, which is the worst part I don't know how the story started or ended. I need to read the others to find out, but I liked the story I read and it was well done.

My first manga book and i am definitely glad it was this one! I was very happy to see the illustration of how to read Manga in case you are new (like me). It was also cool to see the concept art. I loved the story as I love Nightmare Before Christmas. I look forward to going back to Book 1 and 2.

Zero's lost and Lock, Shock and Barrell are sent off to find him.  When the four find themselves in Christmas Town, they must enlist the help of an old friend to find their way home.  When the trio's special brand of mischief brings chaos to Santa's workshop, it's going to be a race against the clock to see if they can save both holidays.

In the interest of full disclosure, I will let you know that not only did I receive an eARC from Netgalley and Tokyopop in exchange for an honest review but I didn't know this series even existed, let alone that I would begin in the middle of the saga.  There was some amazing artwork here, the style in keeping with Burton's original vision.  It was, in fact, the cover art that drew me in even before the idea of spending more time with beloved characters.  The pages explode with color and creativity, and I love it for that.

My only complaint is that I felt like there wasn't a lot happening.  It was a story that might have been done justice in ten pages.  Add to that, it seemed, well, more juvenile than the original story.  It is geared toward mid-grade students (I would think that means, like 10-12 year olds?), so I can understand that.  For all this, though, I can't be mad.  It was beautiful, fun, and still kept this old lady's attention.  I will be searching my local bookstore today to see if I can't find the other books in this series.  I think I would be happier with the plot if I knew the beginning.  For me, this is a three star book- the art alone would carry it, but there is a good (if short) storyline here that I found charming.

On the adult content scale, there's some bullying, and the mischievous trio gets up to some trickery, but it's very tame.  I would let a child of any age go through this book, though it seems geared for 10+.   Honestly, it hardly rates on my scale at all... maybe a one?

The book comes out October first and I think it's going to be a lot of fun for the young ones getting ready for Halloween

Thank you to NetGalley and thepublisher, for this free review copy.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies, that I watch yearly. Zero has always been a favorite, and I loved this short story about him. I'm always looking for new books for my nephews, and I think this one, and the previous ones, will be perfect for them.

The illustrations were fantastic and kept very close to the movie. Now I'm ready to watch the movie again!

Illustrations: ★★★★☆
Love the vibrate colors that brought this story to life!

Character Development: ★★★★☆
My favorite character from this book was, no shock, Zero.

Flow of the Story:★★★★☆
This book flowed really well. I was not confused by any story elements.

Overall: I really enjoyed this children's Christmas story. Even more when I saw the familiar characters of Zero, Lock, Shock, Barrel, Sally, and Jack Skeleton.

Fantastic artwork very true to the overall theme of the series. Interestingly creepy characters and plot. Home run in the genre as usual. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest option and if you like this graphic novel series you will continue to be intrigued by episode #3.

This was a lot of fun! I havent read the other two volumes but I really enjoyed this one. The story was cute and the art in this was lovely. I'm going to have to check the first two out now.

Like the two before it, Zero has some nice adventures in the Valley. I missed book 2 so do not know if it follows from there. I did have fun going through this. Thank you Net Galley for accepting my request.

This is my first time reading manga and I was grateful for the “instructional” portion at the beginning.
I Love all things Nightmare Before Christmas and Zero in particular, so this was fantastic.
I enjoyed the graphics and art section in the back as well.

So, I have never read Manga. But I LOVE The Nightmare Before Christmas. So I felt I needed to try this out.

The art was beautiful. The story was interesting. I could definitely see myself following this storyline as it progresses, in fact I NEED to see what happens next

When Zero is lost, Jack fears for him. The ghost pup is accompanied by Lock, Shock and Barrel - and are back in Christmastown again!

This manga is full-coloured, and Christmastown is as colourful as whe know it from the movie. The drawing style is quite cute, and I like how normal speech is followed by a part in which everything rhymes, as if they're singing it.
So, I didn't know there was a series about Zero, and I started with this third installment of the series, but this snippet is enough to make me want to read all the rest, especially as it's the time of year NbC is never far from my mind.

I can recommend this to either fans of Tim Burton's Nightmare before Christmas, or readers who want to join a ghost dog whose nose is a glowing pumpkin on his travels.

I recieved a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Totally did NOT enjoy that. The head elf was evil and Santa seemed to not care or notice. Then Rudolph was jealous and rude. Sorry if that was a spoiler, just not happy with this book.

I am a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan. The story line was well done, and the pictures bring the story to life. I can't wait to see more

This installment of Zero's Journey takes us back to Christmas land with Zero and the three trick-or-treaters from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Zero and the kids meet Santa and his elves, who are a little overzealous about singing songs and being cheerful. Meanwhile, Jack is frantically trying to find Zero, and who knows when or if he will find him?

I would recommend this graphic novel to anyone who loved the movie, or who just likes a fun, and slightly creepy, adventure.

This was kindly given to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The Nightmare Before Christmas will always hold a special place in my heart and I really enjoy reading new stories that people come up with. I really loved how the art style replicates the original movie but still has its own life. My biggest issue is how it ended. I really when I series forces you to read the next issue or the next book just to see how things pan out. What makes up for it in this graphic novel is the fact that Zero is the star of the story. If I have the whole series that I could binge read then I think I'd enjoy it a lot more.

Zero continues his journey and with the "help" of 3 mischievous children, they fall into the lair of a Jolly Old Man. Love the story! Love the illustrations! Love it All!

**I received this from NetGalley for an honest review. **

First I have to say this is my first time reviewing Manga. I've read many in my past but have never sat down to review the intricacies of one. I have not read the first two in this set and appreciated the author giving the reader a narrative explaining where Zero's last journey took him.

The artwork was very well done and the scenes are easy to follow. With that said, reader's should be aware this is definitely something a younger kid would enjoy. Very PG in nature to the point I caught myself mentally singing the elf's song in my own made up tune.

I did get lost in the plot at first and had to reread a few pages. What I imagined would be the unveiling of an evil elf boss to Santa Claus turned out not to be that. i do think that would've been a neat twist though. Props to the creator for ending on a cliffhanger; as an adult I found myself looking for the release date of the next installment.

This was a fun and short read. I love the Nightmare before Christmas and really enjoyed the story in this as Zero isn't really explored in the film in that much detail. The art was cute and the layout was clear. A perfect read for any Nightmare fan!
