Your typical run-of-the-mill thriller with secrets, lies, affairs, gaslighting and murder. It's not hard to see where the story e.g. who's actually who and how their lives are linked, though some moments still took me by surprise. I wouldn't have minded a revenge sequel but alas, it was a neat ending. Although this was quite a riveting read, it isn't anything that hasn't been done before either.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This was a fast-paced, psychological thriller. It kept me on my toes; I had no clue where the storyline was going next. We have young Suzi who is married to controlling Nick, she has an affair with a married man, ends up pregnant, isn’t sure whose it is. Suddenly the doctor boyfriend, Sean, stops responding to her and she thinks she has ghosted by him, he then turns up dead but may not even be Sean. She has a new neighbor, Nora, they live in the only two houses at the end of our lane in the middle of nowhere. They become fast friends, and she tells Nora everything; all her dirty laundry. Suddenly Suzi isn’t sure who to believe; who to trust. Is someone messing with her or is she losing it. And then there is Elle, who is she and what is she capable of?

This story was like a roller coaster, up and down and all around. I loved it, I couldn’t wait to see where it was going next. Very satisfying ending and so many twists and I couldn’t keep track of them all but it all made sense in the end. Great book will definitely be reading more books by this author.

I typically enjoy fast-paced thrillers and this one was a bit slow for me but, still a good read. There were a few twists that held my attention and kept me going.

A slow start that turned into a read I couldn’t put down! It’s similar to the typical thrillers that are out now but it was a nice read in between my book.

This was a great mystery. The twist and turns was exciting to see unfold. Claire McGowan is absolutely an author I will be reading more from!

I found the characters unlikable and found myself wanting to skip through chapters and wanting to just find out how it ended. I did like the multiple points of view and how they twisted together, and predicted some twists, but not all.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest review .

This book had been published at time of reading. It had started a bit slow so I went and checked a few five star reviews (no spoilers). One in particular said the slow build in the beginning was necessary and to just keep reading. So I did.

Oh my goodness! Once the story finally took off I was powerless to stop reading. Read in less than 24 hours. Until now I didn’t think there were any books that could really baffle and surprise me. When I did manage to figure anything out it was mere pages before the reveal.

The characters are realistically described that you can’t help but become invested in what is happening to them. I had a deep love for three characters in particular. I dare not divulge who for it might tip you off to who is the victim; then again maybe in this book I rooted for the bad guy. You never know who a person really is, do you.

The story skips about a bit with the timeline but believe me when I say it’s precisely as it should be. I found it tricky at first to navigate it but quickly caught on. Thus the aforementioned reviewer was correct. You will not be disappointed when you race to an amazing end. I was sad it was all over.

I’m afraid I can tell you no details of this book beyond the publisher’s description for fear I’d give away some major clue. I highly recommend that you grab this gem ASAP.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me access to this ARC even if I was a bit late reading it.

This book was an interesting story, although a bit predictable at times. I found the alternating perspectives hard to follow at times. I did enjoy the pace of the novel.

A tad slow for my taste but still a good read. A few plot twists kept me going and it did get better as I went along., All in all I liked it and would pick up more from this author.

I was excited to read this book but when I got into it well it started out very slow, so slow I had to skip some parts. When it did intact start to get interesting I was about a third into the book. I’m a instant gratification person so this book wasnt for me.

I typically enjoy fast-paced thrillers and this one was slow-paced. Slow-paced doesn't necessarily mean bad, in fact, some people often enjoy thrillers that have a build up instead. This book took me a long long time to finish, which is how I knew it wasn't a favorite. Usually thrillers that I love I finish in 1-2 days. Not for me.

If The Wife Between Us and Behind Closed Doors had a book baby, it would be The Other Wife. Those are two of my favorite thrillers, and I also enjoyed this one! It was a quick, fast-paced thriller, with some interesting (although maybe not unique) twists. Solid 3 stars from me.

Interesting story, a little confusing at the beginning but definitely a fun read once you get going. I give it 4 stars for creativity and for the writing because I did think it was well done and well put together, and delivers what is intended.

Suzi has cheated once on her husband, Nick, and now he is very controlling. She has done it again and now is pregnant and wondering who the father is. Elle is out for revenge as Suzi has cheated with her husband. Nora is Suzi's new neighbor and is keeping an eye on Suzi and Nick. I found these characters all very interesting and well-developed. The plot was well paced and after Part 1 took off gangbusters and made the book unputdownable. I had to keep reading in order to find out what was going to happen in the end. I loved McGowan's Paula Maguire books and her last book, What You Did. I would highly recommend this book and I look forward to her next release. I would like to thank Amazon UK Publisher and NetGalley for a free book for an honest review.

Actual rating 3.5 ⭐

Twisty, fun read! There were a lot of characters in this book which slowed me down some in the beginning, but once I figured it out, this story moved!

Suzi, one of the main characters in this book has cheated on her husband more than once. Nick, Suzi's husband, is a controlling , manipulative jerk and stalks his wife to the extreme. Nora, the neighbor, or is she really, are just a few of the characters in this book. At times this book had too much going on, but by the middle I had figured out who was who and was engaged enough to want to see this book through to the end. I am glad I stuck with it!!

I received this book from Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK in exchange for my honest review.

I thought it was a bit confusing at first and had to keep going back to re-read details but after doing so I pretty much figured out how it would end. Worth a read if you can borrow it from the library.

One wife is looking for the woman that took everything away from her. The other is looking for the that finally made her happy. Neither really knows who they should be looking for.
Claire McGowan has written another book that I enjoyed. The twists and suspense at the level I require to keep me thoroughly entertained.
