This book really packs an emotional punch and delves into some real life current events that are happening in the drug/opioid crisis. I didn't think it would be such an intense story based on the blurb but once I got into it and got invested in the characters, it was a hard book to put down. Lengthy, but thought-provoking and enjoyable at the same time. Even though there is quite a bit of turmoil and sadness in this story, there were times of joy and happiness and even some steamy times between Sawyer and Cass. Great secondary characters that fit the whole "small town" feel of the Krysset community. This was an emotional, bittersweet read but one that I would definitely recommend. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Another surprise among the books I read. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but this turned out much better that I hoped. The story was different from what I normally read and the twists and turns managed to wrench out my heart. It shows that not all are book-boyfriend perfect and how people’s pasta can really catch up to them. Not that I’m saying any of them in a bad manner. But the story was complete due to this. Loved the simple and caring nature that sawyer showed even with his past and Cassie was the perfect fit for him. Though there were many trials and tribulations they managed to have their own version of a happy ending. This story did bring a bitter sweet smile to my face even if it was a happy ending.
