This was not the first book I have read about the Mitfords but I did not enjoy this one. I found the book to be way too long and it did not keep my interest. The author often contradicted herself. The book should have been better edited. If you are interested in the family there are far better books written.

A tedious read. Yet another addition to the topic of the Mitford sisters in an already crowded category. The author kept referring to two of Mitford's' books on every page for several chapters. Thompson was overly familiar with her subject, to the point of casualness, as if she personally knew the woman. It was a chore to slog through the chapters.
