Tracked to kill by A B Gibson. A very good read. Likeable story and some good characters. Little slow in places but I read it. 4*.

Interesting story. Overall it was a good read, but I did find some parts hard to believe. The story became more comical than a mystery. Not what I was expecting...

I really tried with this book, but just could not get into it. Read about 70 pages in. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC and the chance to give it a try

Tracked to Kill is well-written and a fairly quick read. Unfortunately, that's about the best of it for me. The story is fast-paced, I'll give it that, but nothing about this one drew me in. It's over-the-top and completely unbelievable. I get that it's fiction and a certain amount of leeway can be given, but this goes beyond that. I could only roll my eyes so many times before it became ridiculous. The story is kind of James Bond-ish, and I'll grant that those movies are about as over-the-top as it gets. Maybe if I liked those movies better, I could've enjoyed this one more, but there was no connection to the characters here. I don't know. Maybe this is just one of those 'not for me' kind of things. I like action and intrigue, and the setting attracted me, but I struggled to get through this book. I did finish, mostly out of sheer determination, but I made it to the end. I can't say that I was surprised by anything in the ending, but I did at least get there.

Being from Harper's Ferry, and having hiked the AT, I was really interested in this book. But...after reading it, I was torn.

It was a fun, easy read. You could escape into the story.

On the other hand, it was almost too quirky and unrealistic. I kept trying to literally imagine it happening here and that didn't work.

I do think I would have enjoyed it more without my personal knowledge of the area. Therefore, I'm rounding my 3.5 stars up to 4 to make up for my personal bias.

Tracked to Kill
By A.B. Gibson

5 stars.

A fast-moving thriller, that is near impossible to put down.

Set on the Appalachian Trail, the book moves quickly to set a scene and drag in a host of potential murders.

No one is who they seem in this intricate and fast-paced plot of global intrigue, revenge, and murder.

Cryptic trail name aliases provide the perfect cover, and scenic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia provides the dramatic backdrop for the unpredictable ending.

Hiking along the Appalachian trail is a bunch of disparate and unbelievable people. Whether their "trail names" are the sort of thing that American hikers go for I can't comment but it did not add to the story for me. Add in a couple of exceedingly rich folk, one of whom (Will) is the target, maybe, who have some sort of hi-tech, and some, business, some murders, an old enemy and you have Boys' Own meets James Bond half way. The boys' toys' gadgets are over the top and unbelievable, certainly compared with the disguise offered by Will. Honestly, a well known and admired, good looking lad by his own account, stunning auburn locks and all, and he disguises himself with a woollen hat with a pony tail. The story is well enough written but not sufficient to draw me in. I really didn't care who the murderer was and the ending was certainly not unpredictable. Whilst I typically like adventure/murder stories with some quirky bits of kit, this just didn't make it for me. Thanks to NetGaley and BooksGoSocial for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Well written nonsense. That is technological nonsense combined with a cheap plot, which means that if you shut your brain off you may enjoy this book.
