This is an excellent book for elementary aged kids to learn about a woman who has been successful in Stem. The photographs enhance the text, which is easy to read. The key ideas are highlighted with a star, and I thought the "did you know?" info made the subject more relatable. The book includes many ideas for kids to follow if they are interested in the topics in this book.
As a teacher, I would love to have a whole series of books like this in my classroom.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance reader's copy of this book.

As a teacher, I know we need more books like this for the young ladies. I owe it to my children to teach and read about people who have impacted our history. This book will make that easier. Mae Jemison is a major leader in the advancement of ladies in science.

This quick biography gives some nice basic facts about Mae Jemison. It includes more facts about Mae's earlier years than other early biographies contain. This helps students see her as a multidimensional person. Includes table of contents, glossary, index, career connections, and other resources. Recommended for STEM resources for grades K-2.

This is another book in the series on "Stem Superstars" which I am quite impressed with. The series is for early elementary students to learn about women who went against the norm and got interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This story of Mae Jemison will inspire young children to follow their interests and dreams. Mae Jemison was interested in science and the stars from an early age. She became a doctor, but still love the stars. She eventually applied to NASA and was accepted. She was the first African American Woman in space. This is a short, simply written book that is full of excellent photos. I like the end pages that are enhance with "Did You Know" facts, a glossary and suggestions for activities to pursue as well as additional resources. I definitely recommend this book to school and public libraries as well as home libraries for budding scientists. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of the book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

My nephew and I read the three STEM books available on Netgalley, for his home reading assignment this week. He did not know of any of the "STEM superstars" prior to reading these books. He enjoyed the Miyamoto book the most due to the subject matter.

While the text is a little below his reading level, I decided to continue reading the series with him, due to the subject matter. I think these STEM books are a great idea and well executed.

I really enjoyed this book and felt it flowed much better that the first book in the series that we read. The images were fantastic and fit the story.

As an adult, I really enjoy the 'career connections' section at the end. It provides some good ideas to get children interested in science, and I like the variety of suggestions it provides!

The photo's in the book were high quality and added to the story. The "did you know" facts were a fun addition to the information about Jemison. The chapters were short, concise, easy to read (especially for an early reader). The career connections at the end were a great way for a child to bring what they read into their lives.
