I really hope there is more from the author and maybe more from Katerina, I really enjoyed reading this series.

This is book 3 in the Fixer, Katerina Mills series and it keeps the action and excitement going. You should definitely read the fist two books, to keep all the players straight. I'm a little sad to see Katerina going further down the rabbit hole of crime. She's getting sucked into some dangerous games by bored money men. This was to be a trilogy but I see book 4 is in the pipeline. Thank heavens. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The Fixer: The Last Romanov by Jill Amy Rosenblatt is a fast-paced mystery novel that is full of characters, some likable and some not!
Kat Mills is a "fixer". What is a fixer, a fixer is "someone who makes arrangements for other people, especially of an illicit or devious kind." She wants to disappear but gets bogged down in taking care of the open ends she has on the books.
She does not trust her employer, MJM Consulting, she is trying to get out of the clutches of a vengeful mobster, psychotic client and a dirty DEA agent but all she wants to do is disappear.
Enter the love of her life, professional thief Alexander Winter. Not she has to decide if she wants to stay with Alexander or go it alone. Her last assignment is from a direct descendant of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II - and he insists that Kat steal the item that will prove he is the heir.
Can I say wow? This book is so fast-paced that I had a hard time keeping up. I have only read one of the books in this series The Fixer: The Naked Man book 1 and found that book to be great as I love a great mystery story. The Last Romanov is another one of those kinds of books that are unputdownable. I loved the storyline, how Kat seems to have grown up a bit since the first book, she is still very young, but she knows her stuff though and is very successful in taking care of her assignments. The support system she has is one that helps her through her work. The relationship she has with Alexander Winter has her showing her vulnerabilities, and I hope that they can work it out.
I recommend the book but even though the book can be read as a stand-alone, I would suggest that you start with book 1.

Warning, this novel ends with nothing really resolved.

Katerina Mills has decided that she needs to disappear, too many people want her dead or want something from her, but she needs one big payoff. Unfortunately she seems to be caught in too many snares with psychotic or murderous clients demanding the impossible, or more than she is willing to do. Her relationship with her BFF has deteriorated and the cop she briefly dated has gone a bit stalkery/trying to protect her 'for her own good'. Oh, and little does she know that she has become a liability to the shadowy organisation that she works for and they have decided to eliminate her.

I devoured the first two books, I thought they were gritty and fresh and fast-paced but unfortunately partway through this book I suddenly had a revelation - every man in the book is either in love with Kat or obsessed with her or does her ridiculous favours just because she asks. Literally every single one. She's just that much of a special snowflake. Also, it's been a while now but Kat doesn't seem to be any better at this job, she just relies on Winter (or one of her myriad other men) to rescue her all the time. My final gripe, there are so many threads with different people trying to kill/own/kidnap Kat that I totally lost the plot of who was who, there was one fight scene where the point of view changed from inside to outside to inside again just so that we could see the different people fighting.

Will I read the net book? I don't know.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

The Fixer: The Last Romanov by Jill Amy Rosenblatt, a good third novel. Katerina is in way over her head, barely keeping ahead of all the various and sundry people around her. What can she do to stay ahead?

As this is a series that must be read in sequence, I had hoped this would be the conclusion, but it's not. In addition, the funny stuff has gone and a lot of messy and stupid stuff has entered. A disappointment.

Wow! This series just keeps getting better. This is a tension filled thrill ride. The characters are intriguing and complex. The plot draws you in. I was on edge with my stomach tensed nearly the entire book. Each book brings a few answers and many questions. I cannot wait for the next book, I am completely invested in this ongoing tale.

The action picks right up where the last book left off and does not disappoint as it just keeps rolling adding in complications and twists to the plot along the way. The characters are even more developed and in this 3rd book, I find I am invested in the lives of the characters and can't wait to find out what happens next. The only issue I have is that I now have to wait to find out what happens next until I can get my hands on the next book! This series is written in a manner that has each book resolving at least one plot line, but leaving you firmly entrenched in the midst of multiple other plotlines. While typically I prefer to end the book with a resolution to the story or traditional ending, I am finding myself quite drawn to the open ended feeling of the books much like a tv show that leaves you with "to be concluded." I can't exactly say why it works in these books, but it certainly has drawn me in and kept me hooked!
