This book is about a married couple who lost site of themselves over the years. They no longer showed the love they used to do all the time. When Rosie walked out on her husband Dominic it was a wake up call to fix what was missing so they two decided to seek therapy in order to save their marriage. Tessa Bailey did a great job in building strong characters and a love that was real and unreal. The amount of love the couple had for each other was heart warming. I couldn't ask for more out of a book. It was right up my ally; psychology mixed with love and passion. This book would teach you that everyone love differently and everyone show their love differently but if you learn and accept your partners love language you can make the relationship work. The passion and sexual tension between the two was breathtaking. The easy writing flow made it easy for the enjoyment in reading the book. In my opinion this book deserved nothing less than 5 stars. Warning if you do not like pet names or dirty talking this is not for you. I received this book in exchange for a honest review. |

I adored this book! To be fair, I love most of what Tessa Bailey writes, but I think this book, like "Fix Her Up," was particularly strong. I felt invested in the two main characters, Dominic and Rosie, from the very beginning and was rooting for them to succeed. The pain and communication issues they were both experiencing was well explored, adding to the book's slow-burn-like pacing. By the conclusion, I felt as though I knew the couple well and felt so proud of their growth throughout the novel. I appreciated how the author explored real life relationship struggles, particularly the concept of love-languages and how necessary it is for partners to communicate clearly with one another. I cannot recommend this book highly enough; if you like contemporary romance novels and happy endings, I guarantee you will love this book! Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for providing me with this ARC. |
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. Yay! After Fix Her Up, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dom and Rosie's story and Bailey wrote us a doozie. My heart kept breaking for them because of how far they'd let their relationship get, but then I'd get frustrated that they were both being stupid and blind, not realizing how much they still loved each other. And the chemistry between them was exactly what I'd hoped it would be - scorching and fun while also having so much love. While I was annoyed that they couldn't just see things from each other's point of view, I got it. And after having been together for most of their lives, they fell into a pattern. The ending was so sweet and perfect that I couldn't have dreamed up a better one for them if I tried. And now...we wait for Bethany........... |

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review - Thank you! 4 stars This was a great read. It's a troupe I usually shy away from as it isn't one of my favorites but after reading Fix Her Up, the couple had me intrigued. I was surprised at how their situation connected with me, especially Dominic and Rosie's parents as I've seen it mirrored throughout the lives of family and friends around me as both a Latinx and military family. The book had me laughing, smiling, and contemplating throughout as Rosie and Dominic worked on their relationship to see if they would make it. As usual, Tessa Bailey's writing was great, making it flow with ease and making it a quick read as she showed the past and present view of the couple. The tension, teasing and steamy parts were all very present which I enjoyed more in this book than the first. I do believe this book is quite different from Fix Her Up. The feel is different and deals with more than what Travis and Georgie go through in my opinion but still pacing it with a similar vibe. In a sense Rosie is finding herself just as Georgie did in the first book, the difference would be that one is doing so after losing herself. I do think the book could have ended a couple of chapters before it did as the critical part was prolonged a bit but overall it was a good and solid read. There were some topics that were fully expanded on which would have been nice to see. It was also great seeing the characters from the last book sprinkled in and seeing the author set into motion her next book. For those keeping score - You'll only have to read "Baby Girl" a handful of times in this book. |

The main focus of this story worked for me because it revolves around a married couple finding their way back to each other. This is an underused trope with much potential. Tessa did a great job incorporating the Love Languages that I really enjoyed and provided Dominic with some swoon-worthy moments that warmed my heart. There is some expected wonderful banter, especially among the guys, that I feel Tessa excells at and keeps me coming back to read her books over and over again. (4.5 stars) |

4.5 stars! The second book in the Hot and Hammered series is second chance romance at its best. Love Her or Lose Her is sweet, sexy and hit me right in the feels. I loved it! Can I say? The connection between Dominic and Rosie is crazy explosive. *Blows out breath* My goodness the sexual tension between these radiated off the pages. Yes, they had many marital problems. However, they definitely did not lack in chemistry. Also, Dominic's dirty mouth...yes, please. I think I felt this book harder than I thought it would because I felt a kindred connection to Dominic. I grew up in a similar way. I definitely show my love through deeds. And, if your loved one needed something, you just did it. His struggle to verbally express his wants and his reasons felt a little too close to home. So, I could understand how he was feeling. That being said, I love, love love that Rosie took her life back and went after her dreams. I couldn't root for her any harder than I was. The girl power within the Just Us League is still my favorite thing about this series. I very much enjoyed this book!! If you looking for rom com that will hit you right in the heart, Love Her or Lose Her is right up your alley. I can't wait to read Bethany's story next. |
Oh my goodness what a book! I loved Fix Her Up and have been anticipating this one for so long and it did not disappoint!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED this one! It's not often that a sequel is better than the first book, but this one was everything. It was steamy, funny, romantic, and amazing all wrapped up into one. I'm having a hard time putting how much I loved this book into words! |
This book is a weird one to review. I like the heroine, but I don't really like the hero. I think it's partly because I want him to be more communicative, which is actually what the heroine wants as well. I do like that they go to therapy, and they try to do the therapy thing together, but I kind of wish we got to see more of their relationship after they fix some of the problems. The denouement was too quick. It made things a little rushed. This is the first one in this series that I read, and it's doable without reading the other book, but sometimes I was just a little bit confused about the friends and friendships of the heroine. |
I can always count on Tessa Bailey to deliver heart, humor, and heat in her books and LOVE HER OR LOSE HER was no exception. Romance novels with a married hero and heroine have become more prevalent in recent years. I’m here for authors stretching their creative muscles and writing about love in all its many forms. Rosie and Dominic are middle school sweethearts who have slowly reached relationship stagnation after ten years of marriage. They both decide to give their relationship one last shot through marriage counseling. While their counselor was wacky and made me laugh more than once, the problems and roadblocks in their relationship felt real and personal. I think it helps that I buy into the love language concept, and I really enjoyed Ms. Bailey tying it in. Another huge positive of the book is its pacing. While slightly predictable, I enjoyed the ups and downs Rosie and Dominic experienced while trying to communicate after years of just existing together. I was rooting for them the whole book. The little slice of life moments and their robust friend group also added to the entire reading experience. As I mentioned, you can’t read a Tessa Bailey novel without discussing the superb sexy times. The sexual tension between Rosie and Dominic nearly singed my eyebrows off. But under all the chemistry was true love between two people who have taken that love for granted. Overall, I had high hopes for this novel. I read it in a single day and enjoyed every minute of my reading time. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series! Bring on the enemies to lovers. **I received an ARC of this book in order to provide an honest review** |

I liked the book - and this subgenre of romance featuring married couples working on staying together - but I think Bailey's intimate scenes go rather farther than I am generally comfortable with, which detracts from the story rather than adding to it. But I will likely keep reading this series. |
I was a little scared going into this book because I wasn't sure how Tessa was going to write it. She NAILED IT!! I ended up reading it in one sitting. I like that it's a storyline that's not done very often. I've been married for FOREVER and, I'll tell you that this story had me following closely, making sure that we don't have similar issues. Single or Married this story, will have you striving to be better. I am wholeheartedly on #TeamVega. I love how different the storylines are with both books in the series. I can't wait to get more of the new to town guy, raising a kid. YES PLEASE. |
Good book. I thought it was a traditional romance book kind of like a lifetime movie. Tessa Bailey does a good job developing characters and plot. |
I'm new to the world of Tessa Bailey and I'm happy to have found her. This book was everything, it was entertaining, informative and had some interesting characters. Dominic worked my last nerve but in a good way. Every time he had a cave man moment , I kept wanting to hit him over the head and knock some sense into him. Overall he's a good guy Rosie was interesting, I liked her personality. One thing I didn't really connect with her, it felt like she needed too much from Dominic to go after her goals. The passion between these two was scorching. Their sex scenes 🤩🔥🔥. |
A swoony, emotional, steamy, ultimately satisfying second chance romance that reminded me exactly why Bailey is a must-buy author for me. Dominic and Rosie have so much history between them (in a way that differed so much from Travis and Georgie) but it was really fulfilling to follow their journey in terms of understanding what the other person needed and how they could essentially fall in love with each other all over again. This might be my favorite Bailey series yet. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
I'm going to be honest here, I ended up on the fence about this book. Maybe the issue was 100% me but I truly feel that I can split the blame with this read equally. I feel I am at fault for going into this book with high expectations of what to expect and those expectations did not really match up with the book I ended up reading. Now I am not saying that this was a bad book, because it wasn't. It simply just didn't deliver the funny, rom-com feeling I was looking for. I did think that this book had a real genuineness to it. I felt that the situation that Rosie and Dominic were in with their relationship and marriage would be very relatable to many readers. |
Wonderful story. Loved the fact that this story was about an already married couple. Rosie and Dominic are great. There is definitely chemistry between them. They are just going through a rough patch and need to figure out how to get past it and hold onto the love and connection they have. Ms Bailey has written a wonderful story and I enjoyed the journey Rosie and Dominic take to keep the HEA they have always wanted with one another. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. |
Thank you @netgalley and @avonbooks for the review copy of this romance. All opinions are my own. Fix Her Up, the first book in the Hot & Hammered series, was my favorite steamy read last year. I could hardly wait for this sequel to come out. @tessabaileyisanauthor has created such a fun and realistic group of friends who all struggle with their own issues, but also show incredible support towards one another. I loved seeing Georgie, Travis, Bethany and Stephen appear in several scenes. Their interactions and endless banter always make me laugh out loud. This story focused on the Vega family. It centers around Rosie and Dominic who are a married couple struggling to connect within their relationship. There’s no mistaking that they deeply love and are incredibly attracted to one another. The problem is they don’t communicate and have gotten stuck in an unhealthy routine of just going through the motions. They separate and seek out counseling to see if there is any chance of saving their marriage. I love that this romance wasn’t about new love. I think readers in long relationships will easily be able to relate to their issues. With the help of their colorful counselor, they learn that love is more than just physical intimacy and each needs confirmations in totally different ways. They also learn a valuable lesson that communication and honesty is key. Trust me there are plenty of sexy scenes that leave nothing to the imagination. They somehow managed to out steam Travis and Georgie which is saying a lot!! Growing up in South Texas, the descriptions of Rosie’s culinary creations were all to familiar. I look forward to seeing how her restaurant becomes a new hangout for my favorite locals. I’m super excited to see Bethany become the lead in book 3, which will come out later this year. Her match was introduced throughout this story and I’m all in for watching their sarcastic love story unfold. |

Bailey made me care for Dominic and Rosie but she also left too much up in the air at the conclusion of this novel. I root for Rosie and Dominic, but I can't support their relationship. I believe the way Bailey portrays men does not work in this book's favor. Possessiveness is not an attractive quality and it is definitely a red flag. |
I'll be honest, I'm always hesitant on stories where the couple is already married (person preference), but I love Tessa Bailey and I loved the first book in this series so I took a leap of faith. I'm so glad that I did! This book is so good. Not only is it a great story, but there are themes and lessons in it that are good for the soul. This book will just make you feel so many feels. It is funny, sweet, sexy and emotional. It's a beautiful story of love. Not only is it about how love is different for everyone but how we should learn to love ourselves and others. I felt so hopeful after reading this book. It is definitely worth checking out. |

Rosie was known as a department store shoppers worst nightmare. She was a cosmetic consultant. But no one ever asked to be spritzed. She didn’t understand why customers wouldn;t let her make them smell good. Rosie was married to Dominic. They had grown up together and have been together for ten years. Rosie didn’t feel she knew Dominic anymore. They had got through so much He had went in the service but they stayed true to each other and managed the distance and emotional pain. But now it seemed they had lost their shared dream of HEA and forever. Rosie wasn’t happy anymore and didn’t feel like she loved Dominic anymore. So she left Dominic. But Dominic was determined to get the love of his life back. I really liked this book. I loved Rosie and Dominic together. I loved that they were both willing to do what it took to try to save their marriage. I loved they grew up together. I times i chuckled and at other times I choked up while reading this book. I was happy Rosie was strong enough to leave when she wasn’t happy anymore. This was a sweet, funny , romantic, and emotional read. I do feel there could have been a litte less sex scenes. That was the problem as they had a hot chemistry still. I didn’t particularly like their therapist. Dominic’s letter to Rosie choked me up big time. I really enjoyed the” just us” club. I was also glad Rosie had that. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it. I wish I could have rated this book 4.5 |
