At age 53, Céline Audebeau was born. She transformed from a man to a woman and finally had the body to match the gender she felt she truly was since she was six. This book tells her journey.
I did find her story fascinating. The timeline jumps around a bit as she discusses how she came to live in Asia and her transformation experience. Also, the writing is not very smooth in places, probably because she's French and I read the book in English. Anyone reading the book for information about transforming should also know ahead of time that she had plenty of financial resources and positive feedback from family and colleagues, which is often not the case.
Note: sexual content especially in the last quarter of the book and some strong adult language
I would recommend this book to anyone considering transitioning. Also, it's an interesting read for psychology majors, parents/friends, and humans who want to develop a better understanding of and compassion for transgender people.
