This was a great book written by a new author for me but a great author. I love reading any kind of dog stories as they are amazing and this one was well written and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book to everyone as I hop you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review.

Veterinarians supposed to be good with animals but Kallie has an edge - she can communicate with her patients and this ability leads her into a murder mystery that just might be her last appointment!

The book was enjoyable on so many levels - I love animal characters in mysteries and this book had wonderful two and four legged characters, the main character was likable, the family and friends were well written and realistic, the romance was secondary to the mystery and Ariel and Ella (animal crime solvers) were charming!

The mystery was a challenge to figure out (I didn't until the author revealed "whodunit") and the "red herrings" were perfect! My only thought that wasn't positive was that maybe Kallie could not take as many risks in solving a mystery. However, that won't keep me from getting the next book!

I received an ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review of the book.

I enjoyed this book very much! It was a fun mystery I haven't read
in a very long time. I really liked the characters and I hope there will
be more to the story coming. It would be a great series.

Thank you so much, Netgalley, Lisa Shay, and the Publisher for giving
me the chance to read and review the book!

Hard to say, but actually a cute murder mystery. Kallie is a vet, but she also can communicate with animals. For example, she can see images in their mind when she concentrates with them. A little odd, but she claims there are classes in this, so ok. Anyway, she gets a call to come help the police when a dog has a human bone and will not give it up. She comes, and the dog shows her images where he found the bone, and then leads her there. Ben, the lead detective is obviously skeptical, but seeing believing. Good story, and one I highly recommend, although there are a few loose ends that would have been nice to be shown. For example, still a little unclear how the company got away with stealing all the land. And why the cameras in the trees? Where did the lady go and why did she leave the animals? Minor overall, but still..... Enjoyed the story though. and look forward to more in the future.

For a new to me author, I’m truly surprised this is Lisa Shay’s first foray into the cozy mystery genre. Her cozy mystery voice is a breath of fresh air...her characters are lively and full of personality. Kallie Collins is a believable sleuth, not the typical TSTL ones that so many stories carry...no offense to those other authors, but I’ve found as of late too many stories are carrying the same plots and the characters are all so similar. Not here...you’ll find a believable plot, fast moving and intelligent dialog, and scenarios that you won’t shake your head at as they are improbable. Also, the potential for a love interest between Kallie and Ben adds the perfect touch of romance to an overall delightfully intriguing story.

I’m so looking forward to what this author’s Kallie Collins’ animal communication skills bring to her front door.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

A delightful and lighthearted mystery which I hope continues in to a series. Doctor Kallie Collins has the unique ability to listen to what animals tell her. She doesn’t talk to animals, but listens to their thoughts. When a man is missing, she is called to the scene to assist with a dog who has found a bone, a human bone, and refuses to give it up. Kallie hears the dogs’ thoughts, knows where the dog found the bone and is able to lead Detective Ben Jacobson to the grave site. Animals continue to give her information and although he doesn’t quite believe in Kallie’s ability, he soon learns that some things just can’t be explained. Kallie can’t quite stay out of the investigation and soon the case evolves into something more complicated. When the news media publishes her part in the story…have they put Kallie’s life in danger? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

A quick page turner. Although the communicating with animals part was a tad strange, I liked the veterinarian. Some exciting moments. A few tender ones. Even a chuckle or two.

I hope this is the beginning of a series because I would love to read more of Dr. Kallie Collins adventures of being a vet that can talk animals. This book was a very enjoyable read. Dogs Don't Lie is a fantastic book by Lisa Shay.
Dr. Kallie Collins is a vet with unique abilities, she can communicate with animals and they can communicate with her. Dr. Collins gets called out to a home by the police, it seems a dog has a human bone in its possession and doesn't want to give it up. While skeptical, the detective on the case is willing to see what Kallie can do.
Before long, she gets wrapped up in a crazy investigation and finds herself in some precarious situations.

This story is very well told and I immediately liked Kallie and her fruit Gracie and Sam. Kallie's unique abilities add a fun twist to the story and it was very easy to become lost in the story. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for approving me to read this book.
