Very good plot, keeps you interested. I liked the mannerism the book has been written in. Approachable language and style. Well defined characters. Strong 5 stars.

I would like to thank Sapere Books and the Netgalley website for allowing me to read this book.

The story gets off to a flying start when Danny is abducted on his way home from school.

He finds himself in a half ruined building, all alone in the cold and scared. His parents are devastated. Being their only son, they will get a ransom demand and they will have to bend over backwards if they want to see their son alive again. And from there, their secrets, buried deep inside, will resurface, even if it means jeopardizing their marriage. Will Danny ever come back to his parents?

A book read in one go, so much so that I hooked on the story, so captivating, addictive, full of suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters.

A complex, suspenseful plot with tension so thick that it felt palpable. Wonderfully-developed characters with depth and substance. I was immediately drawn in and held captive from beginning to end.

I received a digital arc of this from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I've not read anything by this author before but will definitely be looking out for her work in the future. While this book may not be the longest at less than 300 pages, I didn't feel it was rushed or lacked detail. The story spans a 7 day period where a young boy goes missing until the police case reaches a conclusion. As such it is a very fast paced read and I didn't want to put it down. I was just wanting to read ahead and find out what happened the following day! Would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading more work by this author in the future.

Snatched is a tense, gripping story about a boy abducted from plain sight and held at ransom. This is my first book by Gillian Jackson and I liked it a lot. There were some twists that left me with a sense of dread for the central characters. Some 'twists' were predictable, however, the last one threw a spinner that left me shocked.

When eleven-year-old Danny stone is snatched from a street during a walk home from school, his parents are devastated. Martha and Richard Stone are an average couple leading very normal lives. They're not wealthy, so no one understands why they were targeted. When the kidnappers demand a ransom, both don't hesitate in readying their resources to pay the ransom. With their only son in danger, both Martha and Richard want Danny home safe and sound. But when gathering the money, the Stones discover shocking truths leading them to question their marriage. As the tension bubbles to the surface, they must keep together till they can get Danny home safe. Will they find Danny in time?

This story appealed a lot to me. I found Danny's innocence to be very endearing. Initially, I thought the story focussed too much on his time being abducted and was waiting for something in the story to shift; I was keen to know the how's and why's. However, those moments where Danny was locked and at the mercy of his abductors were the good parts! The story is fast-paced and quite enjoyable despite its plot being simpler than the twisty psychological thrillers I generally read. This book has its fair share of twists to keep one engaged and turning the pages!

Thank You, NetGalley, Sapere Books & Gillian Jackson for an arc!

First Gillian Jackson book I have read and it drew me in from the start. It centres around a missing boy Danny Stones whom we learn has been kidnapped on his way home from school. The parents are obviously frantic with worry. The demand ransom is pretty low in terms of their social standing and thats when the spotlight shines on where is the money? The father's "investments" and pro bono trips to London? Can the parent's relationship survive with hidden secrets? Who are the kidnappers and how they tie in with the Stones family? Cleverly thought out plot with twists and turns.

There is also the unlikely relationship development between Danny and Lewis (the boy who was helping the kidnappers keep Danny incarcerated).

A fantastic enjoyable read that shines a light on family and how important it is to be aware of what is actually going on in the lives of your nearest and dearest rather than focussing too much on career etc.

Highly recommend this. Four stars.

This book was so good. I had trouble putting it down. It had twist and turns that I didn't expect. You really got to like Danny and Lewis. Danny is your typical boy has pretty much what he wants and Lewis is a good kid in a bad situation, but doing the best he can. Danny is kidnapped and Lewis and his mother are to watch him. Lewis's mother is a drunk a d her boyfriend kidnapped Danny and forced her to look out for him. She is afraid of him so she does what he says.
I want to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this amazing book.

This is a story of a family in turmoil. Danny, an 11 year old boy, is kidnapped on his way home from school and taken to a remote farmhouse where the kidnapper‘s girlfriend and her son Lewis are left to guard him. Danny makes friends with Lewis as they are the same age but have totally different backgrounds. His distraught parents receive a ransom demand which the police are suspicious of as it is for quite a low amount of money and Danny’s mum can’t understand why her husband is struggling to find the ransom money. As the story unfolds we learn of all the secrets that hat have been hidden by both parents and if Danny be returned to them unharmed. The book investigates the personal feelings of them, grandparents, police and friends and is told in chapters from the perspective of Danny, his parents and the police. An enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Sapere Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

An unimaginable nightmare - your young child is kidnapped! This is what Martha and Richard have to endure while they await the phone call to tell them what their child's abductors want. Finally they get the call and Martha is ready to go to the bank and withdraw the money, but Richard seems somewhat reluctant. When Martha sees their bank balance, she is shocked as there is nowhere near what should be in their account. They don't have enough to pay the kidnappers and Richard seems to have many excuses as to where their money has gone. Meanwhile their son Danny is locked up, scared and hungry. Finally Richard's secrets come to light as the police try to help find Danny.
This story is well written and the author has made the characters believable and followed through with a great ending which ties up all the loose ends.
