this was a unique take on a LitRPG, I enjoyed reading this book and liked the characters in it. I look forward to reading more in the series.

I absolutely love rpgs and I thought this book showed such promise, and that the premise was great. I love the pod vr technology, and it had some interesting ideas throughout, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to keep me going.

The mobs, quests, loot etc, is all very 'classic' rpg which is perfectly fine, but I really needed a strong overall story arc within the actual game world itself. Without that, I found the 'sandpit' a bit boring and repetitive.

I think it's well written, and again, some fantastic ideas, but the story just wasn't for me.

Recommend this for any rest player one fans. This book is amazing and I genuinely can wait to see the next installment. In a world where a virtual reality game is a way of life, I loved how we see Alex's character grow and the relationships he has change. There's a lot of thought and detail in this virtual reality game and it pays dividends as I totally got in to the gaming world of the book. Basically this is going to be a huge series for me, I will be following in for the next ones!!
