I enjoyed this book thank you net galley for the copy.
The story plays out through the lives of three main characters as you try and figure out what has happened to Violet.
The characters are not overly likeable and lily especially felt like she was portrayed as a bit to weak and self centred
I did like the ending and didn’t guess how it was going to play out however I felt we were building to a more climatic ending than we were given
All in all a good read that gripped me and kept me going and I read it really quickly

I think this story will really hit home with a younger generation. I say that because I just don’t really understand how a person can feel so closely connected and influenced by someone’s computer postings. But I do know it occurs and I never am too far away from my phone so no shaming here.

The writing and pacing was very good. The characters were interesting and well developed. The actions of some of them had me cringing! It was made even worse because of the innocent children and spouses, very selfish.

I was surprised by a lot of the twists. They weren’t obvious to me and I read a lot of thrillers. The conclusion of each character’s journey was nicely done. This book was a pleasant surprise and I will look forward to more by this author.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Crooked Lane Books for a copy in exchange for a review.

3.5 stars. I am usually not into books that are this heavily about motherhood, but I am VERY into thrillers that center around social media and cyberstalking, so this book was total catnip for me, despite the mommy-focus. I was totally engrossed in the story, and had to know just what had happened to Violet, as well as the secrets that Lily and Yvonne were concealing. While this didn't end up feeling like much of a thriller in the end, it was still a twisty page turner, and I loved how it shined a light on how social media and obsession can take over a person's life, especially when someone is unhappy to begin with.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. This was a new author for me and I must say I was very impressed Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day. I loved the characters and it was an easy to understand book with an edge of your seat story. I highly recommend this book.

This review is hard to write. I really wanted to like it. Having a premise of a blogger sharing too much about her life and then to go suddenly missing is an exciting mystery thriller synopsis. However, this did not deliver. I was trying to guess the twists and everything was very underwhelming compared to what it worked itself up to be.
Meaning I had a better book plot line in my head than the book did. It could have been so much better.

The character development is very weak. You have one woman that wants to have a baby no matter the cost and the other that would rather forget her own children and just live through the blogger. Both were not fun prospectives to read from. They were constantly unhappy and were obsessed with the blogger. Then randomly throwing in other narrators was just distracting. None of the characters grew and many seemed overly concerned about their weight in comparison to the other woman in the book.

So much potential in the synopsis but not executed well.

Unfollow me follows characters Lily- a single mother, Henry- a douche husband, and Yvonne- a product out Henry's past as well as the main character they all have in common- Violet. Violet is a mummy blogger on YouTube and one day she up and deleted everything pertaining to be social media accounts. I was a bit skeptical going into the book because it gave me the vibes of YOU and Gone Girl. The entire time, however, it kept me comfortably in my seat. Giving me the feelings of regular conversation and day to day gossip in a forum. Overall,it was a nice read.

This book really started out with a bang and kept on going. There wasn't a lot of lead up to the plot of this story which was a nice change to what I'm used to reading lately. The author just gave you enough to say who was going to be part of the plot and then took you straight away into a whirlwind of twists and turns. The book starts out with our main character Yvonne trying to view her favourite youtuber (Violet's) channel like she normally does only to be shocked when all traces of the women are gone. This can't be true since her channel is so successful and she documents everything but low and behold without a message or a trace Violet is gone. The book is told through the point of view of her fans (Lilly and Yvonne) so that was an interesting chance of pace as they set out to find what really happened and if Violet just changed her mind about sharing her life with the world or if something malicious happened to her. This book really gave a deep look into the rapidity of fans and how far they will go to get to the truth, be it in a good way or a bad way. While I"m not
usually a fan of books with more than one narrator the author did a good job of blending their stories together without making it over the top and super confusing. As well each character fit nicely with the other but had enough substance and appeal to stand out on their own as well. I loved the character Yvonne she was very funny and it gave a comedic note to what could have been a very serious book. The writing of this book was phenomenal! Great read and I'm very glad I got the chance to check it out.

I picked this up on whim today and absolutely COULD NOT put it down. As someone with a YouTube channel, a thriller involving YouTube had just the right amount of creepy to keep me genuinely hooked the whole way through.

The story follows Violet Young, a YouTube mum whose channel suddenly disappears one day, and the followers that speculate and obsess over the disappearance. The book has multiple POVs, and I can honestly say that all of them were equally interesting, and I never felt disheartened to change POV. The plot twists (particularly with Yvonne’s character) had me on the edge of my seat, and I needed to know what had happened to Violet Young. Her husband Henry was well thought out, and Lily’s perspective was both parts eerie and emotional. I didn’t want this book to end (but at the same time, needed to know how it ended)! A must read for anyone who loves a ‘read in one sitting’ thriller.

3.5 stars, would be 4 but it never really felt “thrilling” to me beyond the first page, so perhaps if I’d had no expectations in that regard...

This was a very easy read, and I absolutely love the premise. The POV was split between this influencer’s supposed superfans, both of whom end up taking me by a weird kind of surprise. They’re both the kinds of characters you’ll love to hate, although I found myself connecting with Yvonne.

This did leave me feeling a bit paranoid, having a social media presence as I do. It got under my skin in that way, and I applaud Charlotte Duckworth for this fresh take on the dark side of an increasingly connected world. This is a fictional representation of what can happen when we fill our lives with virtual relationships and neglect those in front of us, including our relationships with our children and spouses - and deeper still, a look at mental health and the ways that social media can negatively impact it.

So what happened to Violet? Well, you’ll have to read to find out. For me it was ultimately a bit disappointing, I wanted something with more teeth. I wanted a true stalker thriller and instead it turns into a reality tv family drama.

This book was written from a couple different perspectives and was written really well. You get to know the characters and feel bad for them, wonder how they could do what they did, and appreciate them. This book grabbed you and brought you along to meet everyone and fully understand the events. There were some surprising bits and in so glad I read it. I could totally see this happening in real life. I’d be interested in learning more about the characters if second book is written.

Unfollow Me has such a hook that made me want to dive right in. The pitfalls of social media and "influencers" are never far from your mind if you are a frequent user and consumer of social media, so I was excited to read this book.

The book focuses on Violet, an influencer who puts her entire life of herself and her family online for the world to see. Violet one day vanishes from the internet. You then see the story unfold through Lily and Yvonne, two women with what I can only describe as an unhealthy and frankly disturbing fascination with a social media personality.

Maybe I am naive, but if people really truly feel like this strongly about random strangers who sell various non essential lifestyle items online then I am worried for the sake of society.

Thats the one thing I struggled with whilst reading the book, are there really so many people out there like that? I blog, I follow other bloggers, I have favourites but I dont freak out when they take a break or go quiet. I get on with my life.

When I put that aside, the story was good, sharp, clever and I liked the view points becoming clearer as the book went on.

Overall, it was a decent read, and if you are obsessed with social media, this might be the perfect choice for you.

4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What is it about nut case characters that I love so much!?

I’m loving this social media trend that is going on right now in books. It’s incredibly eye opening since we all tend to take it all for granted most of the time.

Popular mommy vlogger Violet suddenly disappears from social media and her obsessive stalkers (aka followers) go into a panicked frenzy trying to figure out what happened to her. The story is told in 3 POV’s - Lily, Yvonne (two of Violet’s followers who are totally CUCKOO) and Henry, Violet’s husband - who just sends of totally shady vibes from the start.

Unfollow me is super well written and fast paced. Lots of scandalous activities going on, which always makes for a fun reading experience!

I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author.

This is a very accurate account of how life is now days with social media and influencers. You feel like you know the people whose lives you see on blogs and IG and FB, just because of the glimpse I to their lives. This story was well told from multiple POVs and enjoyable, and had a good and creepy element to it. I was very surprised by the way it ended as I did not see it coming.

Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane books for the ARC!

The backdrop of mummy vlogging is very much relevant to current times and is an interesting setting. How Violet, the vlogger handles the various obsessed fans of hers was intriguing and how much stalkers can get into other's lives is totally scary. It really was a complex twisted plot where the lives of three completely different women are interconnected. The three women have a completely different life and thought process.

It had good suspense elements and the plot kept spiraling until the end. Unfortunately, all the three women were not very likable characters, though this doesn’t really affect the twists and the plot in general. It took some time to follow the three different characters. Though the writing was simple, it still took time as there were quite a few supporting characters who did not add too much to the plot.

Definitely an engaging and complex plot!

Trigger- Infertility!! It does detail the entire process and a lot of related terminology.

The book follows the people who follow social influencers. It shows how obsessed some people get with social influencers and how it's all a lie. Well written and kept you guessing.

What a great book! Unfollow Me kept me captivated from page 1 until the end. It centers around the sudden online disappearance of Violet, a famous YouTube mommy vlogger. The story unfolds through 3 points of view, Lily and Yvonne, who are fans of Violet, and Violet’s husband Henry. It is well written and had some twists and surprises that I did not see coming. The ending was satisfying. The story itself tells a very chilling tale about society’s obsession with social media and our lives. I haven’t read any other books that tackle this topic in this was so it was different from the typical good guy/bad guy psychological thrillers.
All in all, I’d highly recommend Unfollow Me!

I thought I had most of the plots in the book figured out but found that there were some surprises in the end.
Violet Young is a hugely successful mommy vlogger who has over a million followers. One day Violet deletes all of her social media accounts with no warning and no explanation. This causes the rumor mills to run rampant and some of her more extreme followers to become a little too involved in finding out the truth of why Violet has suddenly taken herself off the grid. Some of these followers are a little too involved in her life and have made her a main component of their own lives and These people have suffered their own transgressions and either have used Violet's videos to get them through or have blamed her for the issues they have faced. When her online world bleeds into the real world it leads to a catastrophic event that causes Violet to remove herself from social media.
I liked the ending and how they closed the chapter on each person's life. Most people got what they deserved either positively or negatively. Some secrets are best kept that way.

This book is a modern thriller based on the life of an on line vlogger who on the surface has the perfect life as a wife and mother. One day this online persona goes offline much to the dismay of her followers, who are all caught up in her online fantasy. There is much debate and speculation as to why this person disappeared , so much so that 2 of her followers try to unravel the mystery .Both these women have their own troubled lives of secrets and lies which begin to unravel as the mystery deepens,

This is a very good mystery thriller well written and enjoyable. I recommend this book for a good read.

I am absolutely loving these books coming out about big time bloggers and social media stars. It's a really fun twist and hey, it kind of reminds you to be careful what you put online for everyone to see.

Violet is a YouTube sensation, but one day her social media goes dark. Where is she?

Lily is a single mother with a lot on her plate and she finds inspiration in Violet. When Violet goes missing it feels like things have gotten even darker. But did Lily have something to do with Violet's disappearance? Or is she just looking out for her?

Yvonne is a 40 year old woman with a younger husband and they're yearning to have a baby. Although Yvonne feels a sense of loss when Violet disappears, she also seems slightly jealous of Violet's life. Maybe she's behind what happened to Violet?

And then there's Henry, the husband that seems so perfect on paper, but is he really as great as he seems on social media?

I loved this book right up until the end. There wasn't quite the twist that I wanted there to be, instead more was revealed as I got deeper into this book. Had there been a twist this novel would have received an A. Still, it was a very fun read!

We have all read the warnings about sharing too much personal information online --and still people do it everyday. We've been told not to believe everything you see posted. People create personas blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, so cleverly, millions are fooled. . .and those lines are all but erased Once an influencer reaches a certain level of fame and corporate sponsorships are added to the mix.

This book is timely and relevant. A reflection of today's social media obsessions. It all began so innocently for Violet, married to the seemingly devoted Henry and mother to three daughters. "Violet is Blue, " her YouTube channel was an outlet for her experience with postpartum depression. She quickly became a hot, trending social media darling with millions of followers. With fame and popularity come obsessed fans, envious followers, and trolls determined to squash your success. Lily and Yvonne are addicted to Violet's daily posts. Each has a life teetering on the edge. One is trying desperately to conceive, while the other ignores her child. These women live vicariously through Violet's posts so when all her accounts are closed with no explanation their online obsession goes real world. Did Violet realize she was sharing too much and decide to stop posting or did something more sinister happen to her?

Do you really know those poplar posters? Who are those "Influencers"?
The twists and turns of this story lie within the characters and the secrets they want to keep. It unfolds at a comfortable pace with lil' bits of information revealed throughout the short, crisp chapters. Although narrated from three points of view -- Lily, Yvonne, and Henry the writing is tight and easy to read. I found there were too many extra characters that added nothing to the story and should have been left out.

An online mystery told suspensefully with real-world consequences.
