I absolutely adored this deeply emotional, tender, romantic love story!

Jace is The Next Big Thing in country music, a newcomer with a bright future who has been snatched up by the reigning King family, the father, a legendary solo artist, and his three adult children, whose trio act is consistently at the top of the charts. He is paired with one of the sisters, Krystal, to sing a duet of a song she wrote. This begins his association with the family who can make or break his career, and he unwittingly gets a glimpse behind the curtain of the inner workings of this perfect-in-public family.

The characterizations in this story are top-notch. Krystal's personality fairly leaps off the page right from the start, and Jace is everything a girl could ask for. It's a Tim and Faith style relationship that is solid from the start, even if one of them has a few doubts.

The author's unique writing style perfectly captures the emotions and complicated thoughts of both main characters through the third-person omniscient POV. Krystal's inner dialogue is portrayed in a delightfully quirky way to show her resisting her attraction to Jace. The way she comes to rely on him as her rock, her foundation, her shelter in the coming storm, solidified their relationship in a way that words never could. It's very compelling, easy to read escapism that completely consumed me and required more than a few tissues towards the end.

There's plenty of "kitchen counseling" and southern charm throughout this immersive look at the country music industry. I loved every bit of it, and am looking forward to future books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the opportunity to read and review Jace, Kings of Country, Book 1 before publication. My opinions are my own and are not influence by the complimentary copy.

There’s plenty to love about this book. The characters are complex, and the plot is intriguing. Jace, Kings of Country, kept me engaged from the beginning to the end. It’s clear that Ms. Summers did loads of research concerning the music industry. I enjoyed the King family and look forward to the next book in her new series.

Krystal King’s character is feisty and has a wall as thick as Jericho. What happened to her as an innocent young girl had a lasting effect on her. While I admit to getting frustrated with hot and cold attitude with our amazing hero.

Jace Black is a fantastic hero. His patience with Krystal is astonishing. Most men would have given up on Krystal, but he sees the true Krystal underneath her prickly persona. He too has baggage, but he refuses to allow it to influence his choices. He’s such an honorable man.

The romance between Krystal and Jace is very up and down with Krystal giving into the overwhelming sexual pull, then turning almost instantly into a shrew (B***H). That irritated me hence the 4.25 Gold Crown rating.

If you enjoy lots of high emotion, hot sex and want an introduction to the amazing King family, then you will love Jace, Kings of Country. I plan to read the next book in this series when it’s released. Happy reading!

JACE is a beautifully tragic love story about two people meant to be together. This sweet and endearing story is about the country music industry and it is a combination of funny and angsty and also tackles some important issues. The characters are realistic but both of them have some issues they are trying to work through. I enjoyed the story and all the entertaining characters.

Krystal comes from country music royalty. Her father is a big name in country music and Krystal and her brother and sister are the Three Kings, a top charting country act. Krystal is continually crucified by the press and she is tired of fighting all the negative publicity. My heart went out to Krystal because life and people haven’t been kind to her. I admire how strong Krystal is, but I also feel sorry for her because she suffers in silence and she is afraid to let anyone in.

Jace is such a good guy. He is caring and sensitive and just the right guy for Krystal. He is new to the music business and fascinated and intimidated by all the big stars he is meeting. He is instantly attracted to Krystal and also feels protective of her.

Krystal has never met anyone like Jace. He is a good guy with no ulterior motives; what you see is what you get with Jace. In the cutthroat music industry, Krystal doesn’t meet many people like Jace. However, she is afraid to let down her guard with Jace and put her heart on the line, because she has been hurt in the past. Krystal and Jace are perfect together. From the moment they meet, they are drawn to each other. I loved all their interactions and the wonderful music they creat together. I hope there is going to be a story about Emmy.

Jace (Kings of Country, #1) by Sasha Summers is a perfect rockstar romance. Okay it is really about country music stars but you get what I mean. Jace contains all the elements I want from a music star romance:

sexy hero
sexy heroine
likable cast of secondary characters
supportive family
insight into the music making process
backstage shenanigans
a good solid story to tie all of the above elements together and have you begging for the secondary characters to have stories too!
Sasha Summers combines all of these elements together to create a book that I did not want to put down.

I loved the two main characters. Jace Black is the newbie to the rockstar lifestyle and it is fun watching him enter the life with huge eyes full of wonder. Krystal King is part of the band, The Three Kings, comprised of her, her brother, and her twin sister. She is a seasoned professional who has been in the business since she was a child. As the story builds, we learn more about Jace and Krystal’s backstories and how their past shapes the people they are today.

TRIGGER WARNING: I do feel it is important to note that child molestation plays into one of the subplots of the story. While it isn’t graphic, it definitely plays an important part in the plot.

If I had to rate the steam factor of this romance I’d give it a 3 out 5. There is definitely some hanky panky going on but it doesn’t take over the story and isn’t the primary plot line of the story.

This novel will appeal to readers who love rockstar romances. It would also appeal to people who love reality TV or country music. If you like your romances to fade into black, this probably isn’t the romance for you.

This book releases March 31, 2020.

Sasha Summers should definitely be proud of this first in the brand-new Kings of Country series. I’m always a sucker for books that incorporate strong family ties and the lengths a parent will go to for their children’s happiness. There are times throughout the story that the matters revealed are gut-wrenching and heartbreaking; but Ms Summers addresses these sensitive issues with tact and empathy and ensures that the reader will cry with the victim, but still be compelled to come back for more. Jace’s story had so many elements that the only way to truly appreciate the author’s observations is to read it for yourself, and I for one can’t wait for the next in this series as I’m positive it will be just as captivating.

Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion.

I could not put this book down. It was a great romance but also a great realistic look at the impact of sexual abuse. Kuddos to Sasha Summers for writing about something so important and giving the victim a voice.

When an author combines my love for two things: Romance Books and Country Music....I get nervous. There was no reason to be with this book. Jace and Krystal took my love for both of these things to a whole new level. This is the first book in Sasha Summers new series, The Kings of Country and I can not wait to get my hands on the rest. Jace Black is an overnight sensation. He won a televised singing competition and fans, mainly women, fell in love with him and his voice. Krystal King on the other hand is the complete opposite of her twin sister Emmy Lou who radiates goodness and sunshine. Krystal, Emmy Lou and their older brother Travis make up the band The Three Kings. Krystal is devastated when her father, Hank King, and manager, Steve Zamora, decide that the new song she wrote should be sung as a duet by Jace and Emmy. Krystal is not happy since she feels deep down inside that this song bleeds her raw emotion and drama. When Emmy fakes being sick so her sister can sing "her" song it is instantly clear that Jace and Krystal have an intense chemistry between them.

The part I love the most about this book though is not that it is just a romance but a story about family and how far they will go to protect one of their own. Also the love this father has for all three of his children and how he wants them to succeed in their own right. This book definitely pulled at my heartstrings and I can not wait to see which one of the siblings will be featured in book 2. I am hoping for Emmy since it was mentioned that her ex was getting divorced but I will have to wait and see like everyone else.

Thank you to netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

My Rating: 4.5 Stars

From the oilfield to the country stage. Jace Black got signed on with the famous King family and is about to do a duet with Krystal King. He has very high ambitions, and falling for Krystal is the furthest thing from his plan.

Krystal and her family are icons in the world of country music. Although a very good singer, her gift is writing songs. When circumstances give her the opportunity to sing it with sexy newcomer Jace, Krystal is nervous. That nervousness is quickly traded by bone deep attraction.

As Jace and Krystal try to get to know one another - while the tabloids are having their day - they both have painful pasts that might keep them from finding a long future together. Jace is an excellent book. I loved the occasional lyrics that were part of the story, and how they told much about the pain Krystal was actually in. Seems rather evident that these very lyrics are telling Jace's story as well.

Jace is the first book in the Kings of Country series. It is done very well, and the Jace and Krystal's story was very emotional. Honestly, I just thought I was going to be reading another romance and was not prepared for the impact this book had. I must say that I was very surprised, especially considering the book touched on some very serious and relevant issues Lastly, I loved all of the characters in the book, especially Emmy Lou and Travis, Krystal's twin sister and their brother. I look forward to future books in this series and can't wait to see whose story is next.

Many thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion..

Loved this book! Jace is an upcoming music star, he won a reality tv music show. He is given the chance to perform a duet with one of The King daughters, Krystal. She is the “tough girl” of the group.
The story has many twist and turns and talks about some serious issues. It is a wonderful read.

‘“He knew what you had inside”

“What do I have inside?” The tone of her voice changed, softening.

“Music.” He glanced at her then. “Your sister and brother can sing, but you...channel it, you create it. It lives inside of you. And when you sing, people feel it. Anyone who watches you would say the same thing.”’

I’m only half an hour past having finished reading this book and usually what I do is take a few hours or a day to process how the entire experience made me feel, before I sit down to write a review, but with Jace I really didn’t have to, because this book is a total work of art and it completely blew my expectations out of the water, along with cementing my admiration for this author’s work.

Its beauty is found everywhere, in every single word, every page, every character and scene. From the internal monologues and musings of our two main protagonists, to their shared, undoubtedly profound, longing looks, to the even more beautiful shared music and lyrics- you can’t help but be swept up along with the shimmer and shine of country music stardom and all the angst, drama, heartbreak and sorrow that is happening behind the stage. Not to mention the intense romance and sexual electricity zapping through the air between our remarkable heroine and gentleman hero.

But before I discuss those two any further, let me tell you about the songs, because - holy Grand Ol’ Opry- the song lyrics are these wonderful, almost tangible things, ones that you can almost hear the beat and rhythm to, experience the emotion and force behind them. It’s the music and magic that inevitably draws Krystal and Jace in, pushing them together, forging an incendiary connection and soul deep love. But it's an uphill battle for them both to get that illusive happy ever after.

Jace is a spectacular hero. He’s grounded, supportive, loyal, gorgeous, talented and so darn humble with everything that swings his way. You will fall in love with his charming, open and perceptive personality right from the get go. However, it’s Krystal’s defensive, prickly and heartbreaking character that really wraps its way around your heart. This woman is such a maze of feelings and contradictions, she’s sweet and sour, sarcastic and funny, beautiful and unique. Her heart is huge but she has suffered in silence for so long that she doesn’t recognise the sturdy beat and strength within it, until Jace comes along and shows her - or rather, reinforces- just how magnificent and brilliant she is. These two are just fantastic together, whether they’re singing, bantering, kissing or navigating around each situation life throws at them, they simply shine.

‘“It’s music. When it’s good, it should stir things up inside.” Her voice faded to a whisper.

“You’re telling me what I’m feeling isn’t real?” He knew better than that.

She blinked, her mouth opening. “Feeling?”

He nodded once, his heart damn near beating out of his chest. Yes, dammit, feeling.’

If you’re looking for a rockstar romance with a difference then please take a chance on Jace. It isn’t the conventional kind of rockstar romance, since our protagonists are on the country music scene but this book is also something so much better than your run of the mill sex, drugs and rock n roll cliche music superstar love story. You will be invested in each and every facet of the King family, all the villains who play their part and the heroes and heroines who have their time to stand up and be counted. The writing is just amazing, the story flows seamlessly, with pretty lyrics, terrific interaction between all the players, superb dialogue and a truly heartfelt happy ending.

Let the music carry you away in this brand-new series featuring the King family and their country music dynasty

Music is all he has...but is it enough to heal them both?
Jace Black went from an oilfield roughneck to an overnight singing sensation. Now he's working on a duet with country music legend Krystal King, and he's determined to earn his way to the top. But the more time he spends with Krystal, the more he finds himself falling for her—and he's beginning to be more interested in her than he is in making a name for himself.

Krystal King grew up on stage and in the spotlight. No matter how golden her life appears, her past left deep wounds. But Jace Black makes her wish things were different. To do that, she'd have to risk letting him in... And that might be too big a risk for her battered heart to take.

If you are looking for a southern, sweet romance, throw in some awesome song lyrics; you ha e found the book! Good guys still exist, Jace Black is seriously the real deal. After winning a singing competition, Jace gets the best break of his life; singing a duet with one of The King Three. Crystal King, wrote an amazing song, except her mom wants her twin to sing it with Jace. Unfortunately circumstances happen and Crystal and Jace song it, and let the magic happen. Their chemistry is immediate and electric. Crystal really likes Jace, but she has been burned before. Does she take the chance in true live? Or does the fear win out?

As a reader of romance I love getting the chance to see about new authors and have to say Sasha Summers is one author this reader will keep on. We have two people, Jace and Krystal, both coming out of painful relationships seeing that music is not just for entertainment but emotions. We see a song that speaks everything Krystal is afraid to show to the real world and Jace showing her that love is still possible. Sasha Summers blew me away with how easy this book came to life so easily seeing these two together. The best part is seeing these two come together and the behind the scenes of this music family, The Kings, was interesting to the end. This is definitely one author that brings all the romance, the feels and most of all hope to life. Cannot wait to see more of the Kings and their music, mind blowing.

This is my first time reading this author and it was very different than I expected. It is a brand new series and its more a serial than a stand alone in my opinion.

The story starts with Krystal and Jace meeting after a concert and we meet the King family and the evil mother Cici. Jace is a new country singer who is very hot and very naive and he and Krystal have a lot of chemistry. He loves her songs, she is the blacksheep sister/twin to her sister Em.

This story is very intense I guess you could say. It has to do with abuse of power, as I mentioned evil mother and an ex from hell. If you like the tv show Nashville you will adore this story. I was looking fmore for a fun read than intense and so thats why I did not love it. It is very soap opera like though it ends with a happy for now conclusion.

It was well written and has lots of plots and turns. It just was not my kind of story but if you like Nshville you will love this story.
