I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know why I wasn't really drawn into this one. The story flows well and the pictures are okay, but it's not quite what I expected.

The kindle download didn't display at all. I tried downloading it multiple times. I loved the cover and was looking forward to a cute story. The story synopsis seemed like this would have been a great story to read but I was unable to read the story.

This book was sent to me to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

A magical old fashioned tale unfolds in this book that delighted my 6 year old daughter and we both were drawn in and captivated by the beautiful enchanted tale.
The pictures really draw you in and the simplicity of the tale is really beautiful.
This is a book we will share again and again.

This was cute I suppose. I loved the artwork and singing along with the first half of the book, but then the words changed and I felt like I was reading a different book. Not really sure what happened there.

Oh my gawwwwddd this book is so cute *mayor heart eyes*

Drawing style: I wish I could draw this well. This is such beautiful art I want it on my art wall. It's so beautifully detailed and wow I love it, I have no words to describe how great this is.

Writing style: The writing is as magical as the art. It feels like a poem. All the sentences flow beautifully together. It's truly a work of art.

This adaptation of a traditional song had a unique approach that would appeal to young children who enjoy singing and fairies. The illustrations were cute but very repetitive, without much variety of setting, size, angle, or expression.

Such a cute little story. Fairies and gosemer wings. The girls will love it, boys will like it too. It is very lyrical done to the tune of Green grass grows all around. I love the ending moral it is okay to dream, just as it is okay to be yourself

Got this book to read to my granddaughter. Although she is still to young to understand what the story was about she sat still while I read to her.

This is a beautifully created children's picture book that shows the bridge between the fairy world and a little girls dream. The repetition of the words kept my little ones engaged until the very end. The words come off the tongue in a song like rhythm. They loved the beautiful illustrations and wanted to read it again. Perfect story to show how how a dream became a reality with a little magic.

I was really looking forward to reading this but the book won't load properly on the kindle app, I can see the cover and then it's all blank pages. Very disappointing as it looks like a beautiful story, if this can be fixed I will rewrite a longer review.

The River Fairy’s Wish by Cyrena Shows, 31 pages. PICTURE BOOK
Dragonfly Hill Books, 2019. $11.
Language: G (0 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: G; Violence: G
BUYING ADVISORY: EL - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
In a little fairy town by the Dream River lives a pretty little fairy. That fairy has a wish, and fairy magic might just grant that wish if there is enough spark.
Calling back to the song “Green Grass Grows All Around” for the first half of the book, I found the repetition charming. While I was a little disappointed that the pattern did not continue through the entire story, the change helped highlight the change of life pre- and post-wish. Plus, that little disappointment did not detract from the adorable story or how much I liked the surprise ending. In fact, it might be a little embarrassing if my friends find out how much I love this book that is so far from my reading level.

Stunning illustrations, very pretty, I'd have bought this book purely based on the beautiful colours and visuals. Story wise, I think it was purely a personal preference thing, but being a lyrical fairytale, it doesn't read the same as a 'normal' book. Which I guess is what I would have preferred.

I love this repetitive story style that with an impetus of fun and rhyme builds to a climatic finish.
The story draws you in and the magic of a simple wish is revealed. Beautifully illustrated it is a wonderful old fashioned story of make believe to brighten any child’s day.
A pure joy to read and share with little ones who have the capacity to delight in simple but mysterious things. I’m sure it will become a children’s favourite as it has a melodious rhythm to propel the adult’s reading and the young child’s engagement.
A delight to read and become immersed within the words and artwork.

The River Fairy's wish is about a fairy who wishes to be a girl. The illustrations are beautiful and vibrant with color. At the beginning it felt like the lady who swallowed a fly, with each page adding one thing to the story. My daughter loved that. I liked that the story broke from that cadence and finished the story without it. It made the book better.
