This is an engaging story where two young children are determined to solve the mystery involving their great-great grandfather. I feel that this would be enjoyed by the targeted middle grad audience. Thanks NetGalley for a copy of this book.

This book seemed more like something written toward young adults. I found the dialog a bit unrealistic, and the events just too unlikely to occur.

This is my first book by these authors which I enjoyed from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from them in the future. This is a well written story about spirits and what happens when children maybe able to see and hear more than the adults. This is a mystery story that kept me turning pages just to see what would happen next. It is a fast paced story that is full of mystery and twists and turns. The characters are connectable and made the story entertaining to read. This is an engaging story where two young children are determined to solve the mystery. I enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story as well as the growth of the characters. This is a great story that is worth the pick up. I highly recommend this book.

this was an enjoyable read, the characters were great and I really enjoyed the historical setting. I also liked the way the authors wrote and look forward to more from the authors.

The Haunted Hanging Tree has all the makings of a great psychological thriller. Must read. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this mystery.

I enjoyed this quick read. While this story is geared toward middle schoolers, even as an adult, I enjoyed the story. I am glad that I took the time to read this story.

Children here and see things that adults think pass them over. When Scooter and Mary overhear that their great great grandfather was hanged in Dry Gulch in California their interest is piqued. They want to get to the bottom of this mystery which is not discussed in the family and swept under the carpet.

On a holiday with their Uncle and Aunt they try to uncover this mystery and clear his name. Not easy seeing that this happened in 1873 and very few clues lie around.

More like a Western than a mystery, this was different reading from the usual.

This book just wasn't my cup of tea. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't connect for me.
It was wonderfully written and the story was fantastically done, but I just didn't connect with it personally.
I am not a huge fan of western style novels, so it just wasn't a win for me.
The writing was beautiful, the story was well thought out and put on the pages well.
If western mysteries are your thing then dive into this juicy book.

Interesting mix of psychology and action. This has interesting characters and situations, along with plenty to keep readers engaged. Recommended for action fans, even if not sci-fi fans.

I read this book but couldn't connect to it at all. The story plot began with these two siblings who have turned grandparents and now narrating the story to their grandchildren. How Scooter and Mary had many adventures and how unjust punishments were given without trials to innocents, but other than that nothing made sense, and was a drag to read.
But since I have read a lot many books recently, maybe thats why this book didn't interest me that much. I hope if a few years down the line, I pick this up, I have a different review to write. But for now, nah, didn't click with me. Thanks for sending the book to NetGalley

A pleasant and entertaining read.
This is a well written novel, the cast of characters is fleshed out and the plot is engrossing and entertaining.
I look forward to reading other works by this author.
