Woman on The Edge shows to what length a mother would go to save her child. And how far a perfect stranger will go to help save a stranger’s child. This book drew me in and kept my attention. This is a psychological, heart-racing story.

Nicole Markham is beautiful smart and successful. She is the founder and CEO of her own company, married and now the mother of a new baby. Life for her is at an all time high. So why would she give her baby to a stranger and then jump in front of a train?

Morgan Kincaid is a motherless widow who lives in the infamy of husband's sketchy legacy. Why did Nicole give her her child? What is their connection?

Woman on the Edge is a page turner for sure. It takes you on a ride from the very first chapter. It delves into Nicole's past and what seems to be at the root of the tragic event. It explores some of Morgan's past as well, explaining the connection. There are a lot of moving parts to this story. Fortunately they are not complex and easy to follow along. There were no loose ends as all is explained by the end of the book. While I found this to be a good debut novel, I still felt hungry in the end for more. The story was developed well but the execution lacked.

Woman on the Edge is a thriller but it is not a hard-core thriller. You may connect the dots well before the end. If that is what you are looking for, this isn't it. I am one that enjoys the development despite. I will be on the lookout for Samantha Bailey next book.

Where to begin? Woman on the Edge was a very fast paced read for me. Told from two POV's, it kept me on the edge of my seat.

Basically it's about Morgan, a woman on the subway platform after work, who is basically handed a baby by a woman, Nicole, right before Nicole jumps in front of the train. In the seconds prior to jumping Nicole basically asks Morgan to take care of the baby and love her. She calls her by her name! Morgan has never seen this woman in her life! Suddenly Morgan finds herself whisked away by police, for questioning. The next day a video surfaces that in effect makes it look like maybe Morgan pushed Nicole, making her the police's number one suspect. Does Morgan know this woman? Did Nicole really jump? Morgan ends up doing her own investigating to find out the truth.

What follows is a swift moving story told from Morgan's current point of view and Nicole's past one. It makes for a highly entertaining read and an ending you may not see coming.

This book had me hooked right from the beginning on the short preview I read on Netgalley. This is one book that I was constantly checking to see if I was approved for a copy. I downloaded it as soon as I got the email saying I was approved. I was up all night reading this book because I could not wait to find out what was going to happen next. I had to find out how a complete stranger could just hand off her baby to someone and then kill herself. The story is about two women who have complete different lives.

Morgan finds herself being the suspect in Nicoles death. she learns more about Nicole and the events that lead to her death, she starts to investigate how she could be connected to Nicole and why she would trust her with her kid.

Its shocking to me that this is Samantha M Bailey's first time writing this style of book! I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you to Netgalley and Simon & Shuster for the advanced copy of this book!!!

I was very intrigued by the concept and storyline in the description here. I wanted a thriller that would keep me turning pages and guessing until the end. While a fun quick read, I sadly was able to figure out the whodunit about half way through the book (though that may be due to the fact that I read many thrillers!). The writing was straightforward, but at times cliché and I was disappointed by the addition of what felt like a superfluous story line.

All in all a good thriller for a beach or a weekend read, but nothing groundbreaking in the genre.

This was crazy!
A woman shoves a baby in your arms and then commits suicide by jumping onto the subway tracks right in front of you?
Poor Morgan. She's thrust into being a suspect from what you, as an observer, see that she didn't push Nicole onto the tracks.
Poor Nicole too. She loves her baby so much and wants to protect her and I feel bad about what she felt sure had to do to make that happen.

When you pick up this book, you shouldn't have any plans for a while. This is a gripping thriller that makes you question your trust in the people around you!

I love that you get straight into the action at the train station. From then, you start the learn the story surrounding Nicole and how Morgan gets involved in trying to keep the precious baby girl safe.

The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star was Morgan during the middle of the novel. At first I feel sorry for her but she begins to seem unreliable. Fortunately she redeems herself later in the novel and becomes likable again. Very wonderful ending to a brilliant psychological thriller!

Morgan finds herself in a hunt for the truth that introduces her to Nicole's handsome brother, Ben. But how can she trust Ben when Nicole clearly didn't trust him?

Woman on the Edge held a lot of promise and I was excited to read it. Sadly, I figured out the "whodunit" pretty early. That big reveal was very similar to another book that I read recently. What I couldn't figure out was the connection between Nicole and Morgan. How did Nicole know Morgan so well, but Morgan did not know her. The explanation was plausible, but not one that even crossed my mind. - The story is told from a "before" and "after" kind of timeline. Both of the main characters were the kind of characters that you could like. And even kind of trust, even if that trust is a little misplaced. CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS - In the end, everything worked out, but not before some pretty intense situations.

Bottom Line - Woman On The Edge was a fast-paced, if not a tiny bit predictable.

This was a great twisty read. It hooked me in right away and kept me involved. I look forward to reading more by this author

I had to stop reading this one at around the 30% mark, but I did skim ahead to see what happened. I understand that a lot of people loved this one, but I just couldn't. First of all, I couldn't get past the writing. It was just meh and made me think that it could use some editing. The premise was interesting enough, but I thought the pacing was just off. It was moving too quickly and there wasn't enough character development. I love a page turner, but I also want well developed characters and I don't feel that I got that here. Morgan was a bit whiny and she made questionable decisions. Nicole was not developed AT ALL. I think I got annoyed when I could tell this was another case of a woman with a mental illness being made to feel like she is crazy because of real things that are happening. And of course, she is taking medication, which makes her even more unreliable. How many times have we seen this part of the plot? I thought Nicole's husband was a throwaway character with zero development and I didn't understand some of his actions. I also didn't really get the twist. The villain didn't seem to have much motive. Also, the dialogue of the cop (Martinez) seemed to come from a very bad cop movie. This one just wasn't for me.

Terrific debut! This book was mentioned a few times in my FB book group and honestly I wasn't sure it would live up to the hype for me. I was definitely wrong! Such a thrill, I loved it! Chock-full of twists and turns with a punch-packing ending! Can't wait to recommend this book! Thank you so ,much!

Woman on the Edge by Samantha M. Bailey is a thriller with two ladies as the main characters. The story is told by changing the point of view between the characters in two different timelines, one from the present and one in the past.

The story begins with Morgan Kincaid on her way home getting ready to take the train when an unknown woman suddenly approaches Morgan and pushes her baby into her arms. Right after telling Morgan to “Take my baby.” the woman in question jumps in front of the train to her death.

Morgan is in shock as the events unfold in front of her but when police arrive to investigate she becomes a person of interest being so close to the victim. Morgan then knows she needs to find out just who the lady was and why she chose Morgan to care for her child and what pushed her to the edge that day.

Right away it’s obvious that Woman on the Edge will be a fast paced thriller when it starts off with such a bang having a life end right away. It was also fairly easy to follow along with the changing perspectives when following Morgan in the current time and Nicole in the past as the stories slowly come together through the twists to bring the reader the answers they await.

I thought the premise behind this book sounded really good and I thought it was originally supposed to come out in March 2020 but it looks like it came out in November 2019! This is a debut thriller and I thought it was really well done for a first novel. I could feel the paranoia overtaking me right along with Nicole and Morgan, I felt like I should be looking over my shoulder for the killer! I mean overall the book was sad but I thought the plot line was great and really interesting. The book was kind of short but I liked that things weren’t drawn out too much. The book was really well paced and I stayed interested throughout the book. I liked the ending a lot too – I felt so bad for Morgan and what she went though so I was happy to see her with Ben at the end (**spoiler alert**). The plot was a little predictable towards the end but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book at all – I still really liked the book overall. This book was a thrilling adventure and I’d definitely recommend it!

While she is on maternity leave, she hands her baby over to Morgan in a subway station and then jumps in front of the oncoming train. Morgan has never met Nicole and has no idea why she has given her the baby. The story is told back and forth between Nicole and Morgan. Nicole's story is told from her past leading up to the day she jumps. Morgan's story is told as she tries to find out what happened to Nicole and how they are connected. They are lots of twists and turns as the story develops and I was surprised with the ending. A very well written suspense novel.

The Woman on the Edge in this book is Nicole, a wealthy CEO of a company she built from the ground up and a struggling new mom. Nicole is haunted by her past and the baby that died under her care. This story starts with Nicole handing her newborn baby to a stranger on a platform and then jumping off the edge. Her last words to the stranger telling her to please take care of her baby.

This is a fast-paced story that alternates between Nicole’s point of view before the incident and Morgan’s point of view as she tries to figure out why Nicole, who she’s never met, would choose her to take care of her baby. The characters are all unreliable and will keep you guessing about who did it. The final scene was a bit of a stretch to me, but overall this was a good thriller that held my attention from the beginning. I enjoyed it on audio.
