Holy moly! Talk about a thriller! I finished this book in less than 24 hours…and it only took me that long because I had to sleep and work, too.

Morgan is on her way to work when a bedraggled young mother asks her to hold her baby… and jumps in front of an oncoming train. She’s never met this woman before, and yet Morgan is certain the mother addressed her by name.

When the police discover just how badly Morgan wanted a baby and no commuters or camera footage is able to corroborate her version of events, Morgan begins to look like a suspect in Nicole Markham’s death. But in this book, things aren’t always what they seem.

Before the baby, Nicole was a high-powered CEO worth millions. Was she murdered? Or did something else push her over the edge? Finding the answer to that question is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!

This book was awesome! I was hooked from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down! This book is told from multiple perspectives. The main character, Morgan, had a trauma in her past that affects some of her decisions and I felt that that area should have been explained a bit more to give more background on Morgan to help us understand her a bit better. I did feel that the ending was a little rushed, I felt that the bad guys motives could have been a little clearer. But all in all I really enjoyed this book and encourage others to pick it up!

Thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review. I don't have much to say about this book. It kept my interest but ... it reminded me of a lifetime movie. Crazy acting young mother for no seemingly apparent reason, supposed friend turns out to be an enemy, husband betrays her, a second woman tries to solve the mysterious happenings with the help of a new friend who just happens to be a handsome young doctor. There's mayhem at the end with the perpetrator committing violent acts to hide her guilt. Oh my gosh, will the heroine make it out alive? Why yes she does. Surprise, surprise. And the story wraps up happily ever after. The end.

Fast-paced and thrilling! I loved the use of dual timelines — Morgan in the present day, and Nicole before everything changed — to ratchet up the tension and slowly reveal the truth.

Woman on the Edge is everything I look for in a thriller - tense, gripping & fast paced. Bailey has written a compulsively readable, "edge" of your seat thriller that had me wondering what was coming next and how the story would all come together. I am amazed that this was her first thriller as it reads like the work of a seasoned thriller writer!

A successful woman; a woman longing for a baby, and someone jumps in front of a train....
This story pulled me right in and kept me reading, quickly, to find out who, what, how and why.
While there were a couple of usual suspects, we later find out the real truth. Don't always take things at face value, and sometimes, odd connections become reality.
Great quick read, suspenseful, and a keeps you on your toes wondering if what we think we "see" is real or fabricated.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reading copy. All opinions are my own

First off, thank you to NetGalley, Simon & Schuster, and Samantha M. Bailey for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Woman on the Edge tells a story from 2 main viewpoints after a frantic woman - Nicole - shoves her infant daughter into another woman's arms (Morgan) while waiting on a subway platform, tells her to keep her safe, and then jumps or falls to her death. This story hooked me right away and I found it exciting and engrossing. It was interesting to see the sequence of events from both women's viewpoints and to see what a mother would do to protect her child. I really enjoyed this book, read it quickly, and definitely recommend it for anyone who likes a twisted thriller.

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This book was a fast-moving thriller. The storyline was engaging from the very beginning. I read this book in less than a day as I just could not put it down. Loved the characters, loved the story. I can't wait to read more by Samantha M. Bailey. Easily 5 stars!!!!!

Woman on the Edge was a fast read which I gobbled right up. I loved the alternating story told by Nicole and Morgan trying time figure out the connection. Morgan was a character you wanted to give a little shake to...and often but you liked her just the same and were rooting for her. I cannot wait to see what Samantha M. Bailey puts out next and pray I don’t have to wait 6 years. Well done, Ms. Bailey!

Thank you Simon and Schuster for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc copy of this book. It was a great thriller. A woman is on her way to work on the subway when another frenzied woman says her name and hands her her baby before taking her own life and falling in front of the train. It follows both main characters (the woman who handed her baby away and jumped, and the woman who received the baby). Soon the woman who received the baby is thrown into an investigation and thought to have pushed the other woman. In the “before” timeline we follow the mom and what led her to the day where she gave her baby away and then jumped. This was a fast paced and edge of the seat thriller. It had me guessing who done it the whole time. I highly recommend it!

This is so good!! Not formulaic in any way! Original suspense is rare and this story has you guessing right from the start. You want to believe Morgan but then you are unsure, Nicole’s choice makes absolutely no sense but you turn the pages to learn why...This title is one of those rare suspense books I would give as a gift saying #mustread!! And note to self- stand back from the edge.

A beautifully written book. Just goes to show how people can manipulate others into doing and saying terrible things. I think had I been in a better place myself I would of read this book quite quickly..

“Woman on the Edge” was gripping! From the very first page I was hooked and could not put it down. It gave such an interesting perspective on postpartum mental health. The way the author brings the characters’ stories together was so well-written. This story kept me on the edge until the very end.

Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy of Wonen on the Edge in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this ride if a thriller! I really felt the anguish the Nicole felt throughout the story. I also liked Morgan’s character. I predicted who the culprit was in the story before it was revealed but I was second guessing as I was reading. Nice job as a debut novel! I will look out in the future to more Samantha Bailey books.

Thank you to netgalley for the opportunity to read this advance copy. I enjoyed the book. I think it’s a lightweight for the category, but not every book I read needs to win the Booker Prize. And I read both of those winning works for fiction directly prior to this book. A lightweight book doesn’t mean that the reader won’t encounter tragedy and ugly characters. There aren’t any significant twists which takes some steam out of the book. The author doesn’t let the reader spend enough time pondering “who done it”. She has the characters tell each other. I suspected two characters early on. Still, the “relationship” between Nicole and Morgan is well written. I only wish the reader could, have discovered what drove Nicole instead of being told.

I found this book to be a bit slow to get into, but about halfway through it definitely picks up. Nicole is an accomplished business woman with a new baby, but as things around her start going wrong, she triggers back to an episode in her past.

I dislike spoilers, so I can’t go into much detail. If you enjoy thrillers with a “gaslight” feel, this is a good choice for you.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author and NetGalley, my opinions are my own and given freely.

First of all, thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a review on this book.

This book had so much anxiety packed into this that I felt my own skin crawl a couple of times. Being a mother, I felt my old thoughts coming back to me from having post-partum and I do hope the author wanted the reader to feel the sadness and loneliness that is associated with this, even if you never had it.

This book goes back and forth from two narratives; one from Nicole, the now dead mother, that is set in the past and the other narrative is from Morgan, the woman whom Nicole entrusted on taking care of her child. Now get this, they were total strangers. Were they really though?

The reason on why this book is only getting 4/5 stars is because it fell a tad flat at the end when the story was wrapping up. It seemed a tad too rushed.

I’d love to read more from the author nonetheless and I will definitely recommend this.

I loved this book! I can't believe it was Samantha Bailey's debut novel (correction, her debut novel in this genre) ! This book pulled me in right at the beginning and continued right through to the end! A successful business woman, Nicole Markham, is struggling with her role as a new mother! She's dealing with postpartum psychosis and extreme fear. This part of the book really hit me, as I have had some hard times after the birth of my children. Then you have Morgan Kincaid, a widow who is dealing with her desire to be a mother. Their lives collide when Morgan is on her way home from work, on the subway platform, and Nicole approaches her and says "Take my baby", "I know what you want" and places the baby in her arms before she tragically jumps In front of the train. Things after that spiral our of control for Morgan. It was twisty and fun! Intense!! Definitely binge worthy!!
.
Told in multiple POV and timelines made this book so suspenseful! I loved the writing and couldn't wait to find out what was going on!! I can't wait to read more by Samantha Bailey!

Thank you to the publisher Simon & Schuster and netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review!!

I received Woman On The Edge by Samantha Bailey, free, from Net Gallery in exchange for an honest review.
A stranger hands Morgan a baby, and then jumps in front of a train.
What would cause a woman to do that?

The police become very suspicious of Morgan.
She tries to prove her innocence by checking into the last days of the woman’s life
A great thriller
