An easy, relaxing read for new parents especially! I've read this and I was quoting to my husband when finding something I liked! You won't find here advices or techniques to raise your child so it's not that kind a book! But it will give you a general picture about parenting!
As I said an easy read for a couple of hours wile having a tea or coffee

Covers are made by the publisher and their purpose is to sell books. The cover of this book succeeded and completely sucked me in. I thought this was going to be full of practical advice, with lots of tongue-in-cheek humor and little cartoon visuals (like those shown on the cover) to go along with it. I loved the idea of this being a 'guide to surviving pregnancy'. I thought it was going to have some laugh out loud stories about things like 'how not to change a diaper'. With checklists and tools for 'survival', lots of things to keep the reader engaged. It turned out to be absolutely nothing like what I expected.

From the pages I skimmed through, it's written in a style similar to a text book with unfortunately no visuals or anything to break up all the reading. It is full of walls of text and really just seems to be a story about the author's own experience. The tone is light and positive. What I noticed is that the advice given, sometimes the way it is written seems to imply that all pregnancies are the same, which of course is not so.

I can't really rate this book fairly, as I was so off the mark with my expectations and I didn't end up reading it. Although I love the cover, in my opinion, I really don't think it is fitting for this particular book. This book is for a very select group of new soon to be dads who like a lot of reading.
