Scott Phillpis has it. He's witty, and clever, and knows how to construct a story. Engaging, and entertaining. My favorite book of his since Rake!

This was not the book for me. I was intrigued by “hard-boiled” in the description. I enjoy noir, but man...I felt the plot was all over the place and the characters had no redeeming qualities.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

I love most of the mysteries that Soho publishes but I was disappointed in this outing. While I like noir in general, I did not really find any of the characters all that interesting. I also did not fond the plot all that interesting. If you like dark, with very little redeeming in the plot,; this is your book.
