“Make Me Fall” is my my first read by Ember Leigh. This book tweaked my curiosity because of its twist on the enemies to lovers trope with a dash of fake boyfriend/girlfriend trope. In it we meet Kinsley and Connor. Their parents are (for reason we will uncover towards the end of the book) enemies, as a result, Kinsley and Connor are as well. However, having moved away from their small town to further their careers they end working at the same firm. They meet up and form an unlikely alliance. Having to go home for his grandmother’s funeral he propositions Kinsley. Against her better judgment she agrees. The attraction between the two of them is strong and they eventually give in to it. While in their hometown the relationship blossoms but when they go back to their daily grind all hell breaks loose. Connor makes some bad decisions and Kinsley pays the price. When he realizes the mistake he made he sets his sights on winning her back and succeeds splendidly. A great book, I look forward to more by this author.

I enjoy a good fake relationship story, and this one is ultimately very satisfying. Kinsley and Connor set out to fool their feuding parents when Connor needs a date to take home for his grandmother’s funeral. But they end up with some very real feelings. The two both have some growing up to do, personally and professionally. They might just be able to help each other and find something great together.

For the most part, I found the central pair endearing. I was annoyed by something Connor does and how Kinsley handles it, though. No spoilers, but it slightly soured the book for me.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Make Me Fall by Ember Leigh from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book that I have read by Ember Leigh and I was pleasantly surprised to find an enjoyable new author to follow.

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I found it to be well written. The primary characters' romantic start was both memorable and entertaining. Being from a small Midwestern town, they know each other before running into one another as adults/work colleagues in a bar and concocting a plan to return to their small town as a "couple." Even though the situation was supposed to be more business-like, I thought their chemistry made the change from a couple in name only to a couple in action believable (and adorable).

I liked the well-crafted characters and the witty banter, but thought that the pacing of the novel could have been tightened up at the end (it was a little uneven there).

All in all, a fun read!

Very happy to be introduced to this new author for me via NetGalley. Thankful I enjoyed it.

Though I came in cold to this #2 in a series, I didn't feel left out or like I was missing anything by not having read #1. That's how it should be when a book is billed as a stand-alone.

A tiny bit rocky and rough on the start, but everything else was free flowing from character chemistry to the humor to the intro of other characters you know will have their own romantic story lines in upcoming books in the series.

I loved the first book with Grayson and Hazel and I loved this book with Connor and Kinsley! I love how the author tells the story from both points of view so you get to read the thoughts and emotions of both characters. I also love how the author makes her books stand alone but also brings in parts from both books... like the bonfire scene and the fact that Connor helps Grayson with renovations of Grayson's inherited home. Connor and Kinsley also featured peripherally in the first book, but there is no hint as to what their story really is. Brilliantly done!

Connor invites Kinsley to pose as his fake girlfriend. Kinsley has always secretly lusted after Connor so jumps at the chance to get close to her teenage heartthrob even if it's not real. However, what starts as fake, quickly becomes something real, deep, meaningful, and hot (like really hot)!

I am so looking forward to future books in this series about the Daly brothers!

A sweet, sexy, erotic, funny, romantic story based around a long yearned for, hometown crush.

A pretend relationship that becomes more real and expands to become a life time deal of true love and success, both on a personal level and in business.

With a happy ever after ending, to this entertaining romance.

Make Me Fall is the second book in Ember Leigh’s Bayshore series, and while each book can be read as a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading them in order, as I found the first book (Grayson and Hazel’s story) so much better than this one. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy Connor and Kinsley and their unusual and risky relationship, but I also found their constant separation confusing. The story is an easy read and has many enjoyable elements, but for me personally, book one was more engaging. I do look forward to the next in the series and hope that we continue to fall in love with Bayshore!

I really liked this book. It is part of a series however can be read as a stand alone. This is a sexy, fun read. Very engaging, from the first page to the last page. I read it in one sitting. I would recommend it. Can't wait until next one comes out in this series.

I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest opinion.

4 stars
Cute friends to lovers romance with a side of "always been in love from afar". Kinsley ad Connor are from the same hometown. now living in California. When Connor needs to go home, he thinks brining his fake girlfriend, Kinsley is a good idea. Problem is, their families hate each other, his brothers drive hi crazy (in the best possible way) and he is there for his grandmother's funeral.

I love the chemistry between Kinsley and Connor from page one. They were fun and flirty. The ending was perfect. This one was a solid 4 stars from me!

Great concept with fake girlfriend that I never would have guessed from book 1.

Connor is from the broody Daly family with men that are hot, charismatic, and money driven. Kinsley is seemingly the plain Jane from Connor's hometown who works perfectly as his fake woman. These two fake it really well.

When I get caught up in a story and the many dynamics going on, such as the evil Tamara, I know the author has done a great job writing to revoke such emotions from me.

Can't wait for Dom's story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
It's the second in the series and a standalone, but I think it definitely helps to read book one first, to understand the Daly family.
Kinsley was a lot of fun and had issues many women can relate to. Connor could've been a bit stronger when it counted and that probably cost half a star. It was a fun read however, with some hot moments thrown in that were well written.
Light and easy, pure escapism in Bayshore.

Such a cute story. I don’t know why but “cute” is the first word that comes to mind. I really enjoyed this one. I especially love the relationship between all the brothers, it reminded me of my own sons. The story was romantic and yet mostly light hearted. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Highly recommend.

Well isn't Connor a cocky one, “was this morning a dream, or did I eff you so hard that you fell asleep on top of my ***k?” Connor is an ambitious one, “I would never. Though I do plan to eff you,”he says, a smile curling his lips. He pins me against the wall with his hips..." I liked this book, I liked Connor.

Second book in this series that I have read, and really enjoyed. This is the story of Kinsley and Connor. They both grew up in the same town, and now both work together in the city - but they are not friends. Unitl one night in a bar after an accidental meeting and some shots. Now they are fake dating and going back to their hometown for his grandmothers funeral. Problem is that their parents hate each other, and so how will they react to Connor and Kinsley?

What starts of as a fake relationship soon turns all too real, but will it stay that way when they return to the office and their real lives?

Looking forward to the rest of the series.

From start to finish great book. Kingsley’s weirdness was oddly endearing. I’m excited to read more about the Daly brothers and find out the truth about the feud between the Daly’s and Cabanas!!!

This is the second book in this series, I really hope you read the first book (Make me loose) which starred Grayson and Hazel you will love it or I did. In this book we have Connor and Kinsley. Connor asks Kinsley to be his fake girlfriend when he goes home to visit his family and to attend his grandmothers funeral, this will be the trifecta for him, getting on his dads nerves, showing up his brothers and getting back at his ex-girlfriend Tamara whom also happens to be Kinsley's witch of a boss. Kinsley as always had a crush on Connor but he is a Daly a forbidden member of the Daly family her family hates that family and vice versa, and to top it off Connor is way out of her league. While spending time together feelings start developing well for Connor, Kinsley has always felt something for him. Connor realizes that Kinsley whom he would never have pegged as someone of interest turns out so much better than he could have imagined she was funny and ended up being hot. However he screws everything up when they return to the real life. I have to say that Connor so disappointed me, and Kinsley was too weak she should have made him suffer more after what he did and how he ghosted her, I was pissed off for her. She is definitely no Hazel!
