Well written. A little slow in the beginning but picks up. I liked how it addresses PTSD. Good writing, liked the main character. Will buy books from this author.

Well written and interesting until the end. I found the second half of the book better as it was a little slow, not much happening in the first half.

I loved the fact that the lead character isn't someone strong as we general read but a female detective with PTSD. I found that interesting, real, well described and emotional.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kobo Writing Life for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

An interesting story that comes together quite nicely with a police officer, a reporter, a widow, and numerous bad guys. This is the third book I've read of Will's. He is quickly becoming a favorite.

Thank you to Netgalley for this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it got my attention right from the start. Good back story and really likeable characters - a Detective just returning from sick leave, a wife, and a newspaper reporter. The story flowed and was told very well. A police investigation began into the murder of Lorraine’s husband, and right from the start you knew she wasn’t being totally honest with the police and not really co-operating with them. So could she have arranged his murder? The Detective leading the investigation has PTSD from some years before and the story follows her through the investigation, ongoing counselling and how her PTSD has changed her as a person. I found this to be a thrilling, gripping read and kept wanting to know what happened next. Would recommend this author and will be looking at his other books to read.

Very well written and with excellent characters. Nice flow and dialogue, but unfortunately the plot is weak as very little is happening until the last part.

This story is bound to keep the reader intrigued until the very end! A broken detective, a tabloid writer and a questionably sound spouse feature in this suspense thriller about the torture and death of a criminally deranged man.

Lorraine's abusive husband had been tortured and brutally murdered. Someone wants 2 million dollars. Who? She separated from him (Wheeler) a few months ago. Is SHE capable of such a crime? And how about Magnus, Wheeler's ex-partner? Or is Lorraine capable of arranging to have her "ex" tortured and murdered?

Detective Fiona Fielding has been on psychological leave and then light duty for 6 months. Will she be able to handle finding the killer or killers?

Annmarie,.of tabloid fame, is hounding both Lorraine and Fiona for answers.

What really happened?

An exciting story about a widow and her secrets. Will these secrets destroy her?

Great character development, smooth transition from each point of view. Intrigue at every turn. Not one to miss!

Many Thanks to Kobo Writing Life and NetGalley for a great read and twisty ride!
