This was such a heartwarming story. Adam lost his wife over a decade ago and he is still morning the loss of her. When he lost his wife he also cut out Lizzie who was best friends with both of them. My heart ached for all that both of these two had been through. Both must let go of the past in order to move on with the future. I loved how Kate Pearce told their story. The characters were well developed and the storyline was fantastic. There was romance, misunderstandings, drama and so much more. This book kept me thoroughly entertained from start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Rancher's Redemption is a contemporary romance by Kate Pearce. Ms. Pearce has once again provided readers with a well-written book. The characters are perfect for this story and my favorite part of the book. Lizzie is a single mom doing her best to raise her son on her own. Adam is a little angsty, but it's not overwhelming. He's a widower and has avoided Lizzie since his wife's funeral. Lizzie and Adam's story is packed with drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed this book and look forward to my next book by Kate Pearce. The Rancher's Redemption is book 2 of The Millers of Morgan Valley Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am a sucker for small town romance - add in a ranch and some cute cowboys, sign me up! Adam married young and lost his wife to cancer not very long after. Lizzie was a best friend to both Adam and his late wife - until she and Adam <spoiler> slept together not long after Adam's wife passed away. Lizzie wanted to comfort Adam - but it ended up breaking them apart for more than 14 years </spoiler>. Chance brings them back together again and both Adam and Lizzie pledge to try and communicate better and not just walk away when things get hard. They quickly come back together romantically as well. Over the course of the book there is a lot of drama with Lizzie's ex/baby-daddy's family, Adam's family, and between Lizzie and Adam of course. Adam's mom had been gone for 20 years and returns to try and make things right with her family. Over the course of all of this Adam's world is rocked - not only be revelations about his own family, but about his late wife as well.

Throughout all of this - I actually felt really badly for Adam. I felt, in a lot of places, that his family and Lizzie were being really really tough on him. I understood the desire to get him out of his own head and on a better path to happiness, but still - I think a little more caring and less ass kicking was probably in order. I also liked Lizzie, but I was frustrated with her too. At the same time she was demanding a lot from Adam - she herself wasn't willing to give the same to him.

Overall - I enjoyed it. If you like small-town romances with a side of drama - this is a book for you! It is definitely a standalone - but with a slew of other characters that have their own books!

I received this book as an ARC from netgalley, but these opinions are my own.

The story of Lizzie and Adam. It is ten years since they were friends and they have barely spoken since.

Now they are trying to find their way back to being friends again, but soon they are falling for each other. Adam's late wife was Lizzie's best friend - can they get past this to be together?

In the background thre is also the issue of Adam's mother - back in town after leaving her family 20 years ago. How will this all impact on Adam?

ARC received for review

Adam was married to Lizzie's BFF who passed away from cancer. Now years later Lizzie is back with her son, and no he's not Adam's son. Lizzie's ex's family is a piece of work. It took forever for them to get together. Lots of long drawn out angst plus some drama. It was a good book, just very slow moving.

The Rancher’s Redemption

Lizzie works as a waitress raising her son alone. Her best friend Louisa died a decade ago and her hunky husband Adam has closed himself off and is still grieving. Events bring them together again and sparks fly though Adam doesn’t deal with them well. The characters and scenes are charming, and occasionally hot. Although this is part of a larger series it can easily be read as a standalone.

A novella, An Unexpected Gift is included, taking place in the same town. Billy and Bella are in their 50’s widowed and not expecting the gift of love again. This novella takes place in the same world as Rancher’s Redemption and is truly a novel of redemption, for Billy. A recovering alcoholic who spent time in prison before coming home to face his family and make restitution. Bella owns the Red Dragon saloon and restaurant. This tale is sweet and uplifting.

I would recommend to my patrons.

THE RANCHER'S REDEMPTION is another wonderful story by Kate Pearce. Adam's a widower, his wife was Lizzie's best friend. Adam and Lizzie haven't spoken in 14 years, since Louisa died. Adam comes to Lizzie's aid and starts to want more of a relationship with her. Adam must let go of the past before he can move on.

Back in Morgan Valley, the author delivers another wonderful story. A story that will touch your hearts.
Adam Miller lost his young wife over 10 years ago. He still mourns her and has barely spoken to the woman that used to be best friends with him and his deceased wife, Lizzie Taylor.
Lizzie, is a single Mom whose one night stand never wanted the child and left her to raise her son by herself.
As the opportunity for a second chance at friendship commences, so are secrets from the past revealed. Secrets that might change their fragile future .
While these two are struggling with the past and the present, the Miller clan gets a visit from the mother that left twenty years ago. Why is she back? Were they all wrong as to why she left?
This is a story with many twists and turns that will keep you engaged from the moment you read the first page until the last one.
It’s a story filled with heartbreaking moments , endings and new beginnings. Be sure to have your hankies readily available.
Another winner in this series.
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley and Zebra Books. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I liked the story but the writing came across as rather simple and not very polished. I believe that the author is British and she uses words and terms that don't fit in the story of a couple in small town Montana. I don't recall that issue in the previous books. It was also hard to follow which character was speaking which line of text because of the formatting. There wasnt much "Adam said" or "Lizzie remarked" to set it apart. The sections of dialog weren't broken into paragraphs as a way to show who said what. I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact that I read an ARC of this book or not.

I have enjoyed the rest of this series so I'll probably give any subsequent books a try.

A wonderful second chance story of Adam and Lizzie. He has been mourning his wife for years, and she is struggling trying to raise her son by herself. Both have conflict and issues of course, and a rocky road towards their HEA, but overall a hard to put down story. A great bonus novella at the end too, which was a treat. Great story in a great series by a talented author. Highly recommend.

There are three stories in this book and the main one is the reconnecting of Adam and Lizzie after ten tears of avoidance due to a major misunderstanding. The second one deals with a visit from Adam’s mother, Leanne after having been gone for twenty years and all the drama that thus creates. The third deals with Roman, Lizzie’s child, and someone trying to interfere with his life. This book brings to light a lot of misunderstandings, hurt feelings and lies. It is well written and entertaining in that you can’t imagine what is going to happen next. Adam and Lizzie are wonderful characters and you hope things work out for them. Roman is written in such a way that he pulls at your heart strings and adds a lot to the story. I love the story of the Miller’s and this is a great addition to the series. I would highly recommend this book.
There is also a short story that revolves around Billy Morgan and his attraction to Bella Williams and how it develops in a marriage proposal that is accepted. A great quick read.

My heart breaks for both Adam and Lizzie. They've had a rough go of it for sure. I love a second chance romance. The Ranchers Redemption, is a great book, with a bonus novella too!

Great as Usual! Pearce has created a town and the town folks that make these reads special. I have read all of the Morgan Ranch books and now Pearce is starting on the residents of Morgantown specifically the Millers. To get the true family history of the Millers it would be best to read "Second Chance Rancher (Millers of Morgan Valley Book 1). But if not Book 2 has its own stand alone flavor staring Adam Miller who has been a Widower for ten years and still cannot let go of the love of his life. The idea that you can out run your past or move on is narrated wonderfully when Adams rekindles things with his long ago best friend Lizzie Taylor. Fast read that was hard to put down. Adam and Lizzie have their very souls on the pages of this book. "A copy of this book was provided by Kensington Book via NetGalley with no requirments for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." ROMANCE IGNITES ON THE PAGES!

Adam and Lizzie’s story kept me entertained. Such wonderful characters. Truly a great story. Childhood friends that reconnect after years of being estranged. The relationship becomes more as they spend time together.
