this was really a unique premise, i loved the characters and I really enjoyed reading the book all the way through. I can't wait to see what the author will write next.

I enjoyed this book very much!! This book reminds me of the show called Ghost Whisperer with Jennifer Love Hewitt where she was able to "speak" to ghosts. I"m not sure how I would feel about that.
The author has told a fabulous story about a subject that's not written about much. Slave cemeteries. I enjoyed Moses telling Mary about each person that was buried there and what they did. The way he told each person's story I started seeing these graves differently. These were once people too!! I learned much!!
I believe Moses would make an awesome storyteller if he were alive!!
I like how history/mystery is mixed together in this book. It makes for an exciting story! Some of the scenes in this book made my mouth drop open for sure!! To me, this is what makes a great ghost story!!
The author had me on the seat of my pants waiting to see what would happen next.
Will Mary and her mom save the cemetery at Moses' request or will it get bulldozed over?
I recommend that you read this book to find out!! This is too exciting to put down!!
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed the history that this story contained. The author used the often glossed over history of Slavery to drive a character's discovery and passion for history to save a slave cemetery that is set to be destroyed soon. The idea that the narrator could speak to ghosts was never fully addressed, but was an interesting plot element that helped drive the story and made the connection to history feel more real for the readers. The writing was simple but never felt childish or boring. Overall, a quick but enjoyable read.
